Was walking through the Village Place shopping area and stopped in this store for some home decorating ideas. This store had so many great products and home décor ideas. I noticed that they offer custom made curtain services as well. I really liked the fact that we were pleasantly greeted when we walked in and the store layout was well designed. The items for sale were a bit costly but if I had money to blow, I would definitely drop a huge chunk of change here. For accented items, I would probably revisit and check out their seasonal items. This store had beautiful home décor items and gave lots of ideas on how I would decorate a specific room. #Yelp 365−30÷365

This small shop has everything you could ever want in your house, and then some. I saw several items that would be perfect baby gifts. I even met the owner and his dog. Staff is very friendly.

The last thing I needed today was temptation. Why, oh why, did I wander into the two-week old treasure trove that is The Mercantile, then? I guess I’m just a glutton for punishment. The very gracious and friendly Barbara Heath has brought her version of «A Home Design Boutique» to our city. Much as I like SOM, it’ll have a run for its money when I’m next decorating. From the sumptuous chairs — in supple black leather with just the right club-like nail head piping — to the welcoming ottomans that invite your feet or tush to take a load off and rest on their plushness, to the beautiful prints in sophisticated frames that line the walls, I was smitten with so many lovelies. The selection of gifts — simply divine-smelling and fabulously packaged Charlotte Moss candles, clever daily inspirational books in smartly colored leather covers, adorable soaps in gift wrap that almost make you not want to open them — is impressively large and selected with a highly trained eye. Gorgeous pieces for tabletops and sideboards, nightstands and dressers adorn the for-sale furniture. One of my immediate picks was the delightful sea-creature like shell in the salmon color, that you almost don’t realize is a bowl until you suddenly find that it opens! Too many more pretty things than I can name in this review are to be found, so you’ll just have to go see for yourself. Stop by and take a browse. If you’re interested, there’s an open house where all are welcome next Tuesday, Dec. 9th from 7 – 9!
