This place is brand spanking new, so bear in mind any issues will probably be worked out with time. My friend and I decided to try the Mercury for 1 reason, well 2 reasons really and I’ll get to the 2nd reason momentarily. The most important reason was our best friend bar-tends there. When we visited, they still hadn’t gotten their liquor license, so they were offering everyone 2 free drinks.(Reason #2) That was a major plus, considering the menu items were pricey. Restaurant — The place is nice. It has an upscale urban/industrial feel with exposed air ducts and concrete beams throughout. They even have cloth towels in the bathroom instead of paper towels. Nice touch. The lighting is dim, a little too dark if you ask me. Service — The staff is friendly and attentive. We sat at the bar and there were maybe 5 tending the bar that night. The few working our side of the bar kept checking on us to see if we needed anything. They also made small talk and made food and drink suggestions. Food — Decent food throughout the meal. My friend and I shared an appetizer of Lobster Fritters. I really liked those and the tarragon mayo that accompanied them. My friend thought they were okay, so I guess it depends on preference. The menu seems French inspired, but for entrees we both chose chicken, Herb Roasted Springer Mountain Chicken, to be more precise. It was recommended and was one of the least expensive entrees, by the way. The chicken was good, not great. Definitely, not what I expect for $ 26. The side items were, whipped potatoes and heirlom baby carrots. Potatoes were too peppery for my taste and we shared the sentiment that for the amount of chicken received, there should have been more potatoes. The carrots were really good though. Overall the place is cool, but I would only go back to visit my bartender friend. It’s a bit too expensive for me, but that may not be an issue for others.

I was excited to try The Mercury since Pinewood is one of my favorite restaurants. The décor is mid-century modern and really impresses. I went before they got their liquor license, so drinks were free with purchase of food. Unfortunately, they ran out of all red wines while we were dining there, but you can’t really complain about that. I ordered the Brussels sprouts as an appetizer and filet mignon with the twice baked potato for my entrée. They were both delicious. Looking forward to going back soon!

Sadly food, service, noise level, and value were pretty much worst experience of 2016

I had a bad experience here. The service was poor… not rude but slow and inattentive. We were sitting for several minutes before giving our drink orders. I just got an iced tea my husband got a mixed drink and his came first… I had to remind her about my drink. We ordered crab appetizer which arrived about 20 minutes later and was good but not exactly hot. We waited another 30 minutes for our food. We ordered my daughter a simple grilled cheese and fries. That came several minutes after my husband and I got food but with no fries. Two other tables that arrived after us got their food before us. Then my fries and fish sandwich were lukewarm at best! Flavors were good but the execution and service were terribly poor. I Will NOT be returning.

I had the prime rib sandwich for lunch. It was a decent sandwich, but it needs work. They don’t roast the prime rib, its cooked sous vide. This makes it very tender, and ought to allow them to serve it perfectly medium rare. Unfortunately, they slice the prime rib and then char the slices before they go on the sandwich. The result is more like a high quality cheese steak than a prime rib sandwich. For a comparison, this is not better than the prime rib sandwich you can get at Houstin’s. Also, the sauce for the sandwich was too salty(overly reduced). This was their soft opening, so maybe things will improve.

The Mercury is definitely one of my new favorites and it is especially nice to have this great addition in our neighborhood. The food was amazing(I had the filet, twice baked potato and wedge salad — table shared the chocolate torte), and the service was top notch(Kristian was outstanding). The wine list/cocktail options are remarkable as well. We will certainly return soon and will make The Mercury a stop when we have quests in town.

Second visit, this time for a business lunch. Mostly a repeat of our previous excellent experience at dinner. Prime rib sandwich is EXCELLENT. and, of course, those fries! Expect the other people at your table to sneak a few of their meal didn’t include them. Don’t be shy to ask for a box. The portions are huge!

In a sea of Atlanta restaurants more focused on «hype» or «scene,» The Mercury is a needed respite and breath of fresh air, especially in the hustle and bustle of Ponce City Market — it’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy some great food & drink. The main options(grouper, prime rib) were all hits with my group but the smaller plates are worth mentioning — probably one of the best Caesar salads I’ve ever had, homemade potato chips with french onion dip(simple, yet addictive) and a fantastic carrot cake. This is definitely a place I’ll return to for nice dinners but will also keep it as a regular spot for drinks and snacks.

My friend and I ate here last Thursday(opening week) and I was quite impressed. The front staff was so welcoming and our server was great. Although still in training mode including learning the ingredients/menu items he did awesome. I ordered the wedge, filet, and fries as a side. The steak was delicious and perfectly cooked. In addition with all steaks they offer a free«topping» including the likes of butter, truffle, blue cheese, etc. The fries were great and so was the wedge. The promotion of free cocktails and wine was also an added bonus! The overall feel of the restaurant was cool and somewhat old school. I think this is a perfect addition to Ponce City Market and I would definitely dine here again!

Came here on Friday and had the From the Sea Platter, Crab Bouillets, Grilled Asparagus Béarnaise and Fries. All were delish, place was packed and it was a good crowd and bar. I will be back for sure. Love the décor(mid century modern with peacock blue leather).

My fiancé and I went here last night after his coworker highly recommended it. We ordered Filet Mignons with cauliflower au gratin and macaroni and cheese. We also ordered a Moscow mule, a whiskey sour, and some other drink I cannot recall the name of. In all, the service, food, drink, and atmosphere were FABULOUS! I had to eat slowly because I wanted to savor every. single. bite. The couples around us ordered appetizers and I wish we had tried some too because they looked delicious. I also wanted to get soup because they sounded exquisite, but I wanted to leave room for the filet mignon. Basically, I wanted to try everything! The only thing I would change is that the macaroni and cheese tasted a little salty towards the bottom of the dish. However, this did not stop me from wanting to lick the bowl clean. This might not bother most people, as I am particularly sensitive to salty things, but I’ll be interested to see if others mention this. I rarely write reviews, but I want to make sure people know about this place and keep it in business! Take a date or some friends here and enjoy!

Thrilled that it’s opened. The area needs a decent steak house, and looks like The Mercury is the bomb. Just happened to make it for dinner during the soft opening, so I can’t comment on the bar, since they don’t have a liquor license yet, and I won’t comment on the service, since it’s still the soft opening. The menu includes an incredible selection of great steaks, seafood and chicken. Everything we ate was cooked to perfection, and delicious. Hopefully the prices remain where they are, which I believe are reasonable for a high quality steakhouse. Can’t wait to go back when the bar is open, and they are in full operational mode.

I was looking for something good to eat and I was in the mood for fish. After driving around a little I remembered that a new restaurant named Mercury had opened in Ponce City Market. So I gave it a shot. Great space. Beautiful restaurant. Good servers. I had the stone crab, the lobster fritters, and the swordfish. The stone crab was good, as were the lobster fritters. The swordfish was served with potatoes and fresh vegetables and it was a healthy portion. Best. Swordfish. Ever. This place impressed me, but the only downside was that the food came out too fast.

My coworker and I were walking around and stopped in. The bartender Sam was so sweet and their homemade ginger in their Moscow Mules were the jam. It was so delicious and I can’t wait to see this place grow. Also, order the vanilla ice cream!

First night open! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. I just stopped by for a drink but can’t wait to come back for dinner. The Ode to Viceroy is excellent and a must try for anyone that doesn’t think they could like a scotch cocktail!
