The Original Chocolate Bar

I love this place! I have been to both locations. It reminds me of the sugarhouse. The drinks are great. I got an oreo mixed and a coconut cake. Both were very tasty

I was at this establishment Friday to watch the band Blactronica perform and my experience was horrific. When I entered the restaurant, I was impressed with the décor and the ambiance but all of that was immediately shattered by 1^st being asked to pay for my order before being served. Who does that? If it were at a fast food restaurant I could understand but… I also noticed that two girls sitting across from me weren’t asked to pay before being served & when I asked one of the waitresses if they randomly selected who pays 1^st she said they ordered more food. what??? Ok on to the food. I ordered the grilled veggie panina which was supposed to have portabella mushroom, provolone cheese & sundried tomatoes but I received some white bread with sliced tomatoes & what appeared to be a torn piece of a kraft single… what part of that is what I ordered? So of course I told the waitress she must have brought me the wrong order & she said no that’s the veggie panina, so I proceded to the bar & told the bartender/​manager that was not what I ordered, so the waitress came back & said I apologize but we don’t have the ingredients for the panina… what??? That was so upsetting to try & insult my intelligence by serving me that in place of a panina & thinking that I would let it slide. I will never go there & I will definitely let all my friends know about my experience. I will say that one of the managers tried to offer me a drink for my experience but at that point I was too frustrated to be appeased.

I’ve been to the Decatur location a few times and have always had a good experience. When I saw a Groupon, I jumped at the chance to get a discount on the black truffle popcorn!
The Trinity Ave location does not deserve to share the name. We sat down and after a few minutes we placed an order for a few martini’s and the popcorn I’d been craving (we were also informed they they did not have small or large desert plates available at this location.). Watching our waitress make food for the other patrons (no cook, but just a waitress and a bartender folks.) and the bartender chat instead of making drinks, we were not impressed with the 15 minute wait for the drinks. Another 10 minutes later the popcorn arrives. Not sure what went wrong but it tasted stale, I think it must have been the oil used. When done right, the black truffle popcorn is amazing!. Since they didn’t have the salami on the menu, we ordered goat cheese and the salmon. After another unacceptable wait the salmon comes. Nothing to write home about. Oh and the goat cheese? Once we reminded the server about it, she discovered that it had been taken to the Decatur store, and the other 2 cheese options were not available.
To add insult to injury it was $ 5 to park.
On the upside the décor was nice the the multi-​tasking server was pleasant.

I was here for an «Events and Adventures» mixer, so I didn’t have the typical experience — like the reviewer who had an alumni event — but I too was impressed with the location. It’s just four blocks west of the Capitol and one block west of Garnett MARTA station. I loved the décor and though I’m not a huge fan of smooth jazz, I appreciated the obvious enthusiasm of the performers that night.
I really, really liked the chocolate fondue waterfall we had access to along with the various fruits — bananas, strawberries, pineapple — we had to cover in chocolate. It took some getting used to, but once I figured out how to spin a banana in chocolate lava without making a mess, I was in heaven. I definitely plan on returning to try the desserts.

Great space and nice addition to downtown. I am going to give it a third try and them I’m out.
Waited 20 minutes for a white mocha hmm… First he made it with soy milk. I didnt ask for soy milk. After another 10 mins he comes out with a white mocha no whip cream. I just left.
I think they may have been having a private party so I will it slide.
This is the only late night coffee place I know of downtown.

Our alumni association had a meeting here. We did not have the ‘typical’ experience, but did get to take in the ambiance. I really enjoyed my time there. Impeccably decorated all around. We had a continental breakfast served for our event, but we look forward to going back to see what the regular menu has to offer.

Was keen to check this out after reading about it on Twitter. Nicely appointed space. Groovy muzak and friendly staff. Bottomless coffee and strong wifi-​good combo. Menu looked limited but interesting as did the chocolate offerings. Peanut butter crunch was tasty. Would be nice for an after dinner spot. I’d hit them up again.
