I was thoroughly disappointed and unimpressed by this restaurant. My friend went to the one in Northlake and it apparently has a completely different(and preferable) atmosphere. We sat at a table on stools(there are no booths) and there was a foosball table in the middle of the place that made it a hassle to go use the restroom because you had to squeeze around someone who was usually too enthralled in the game and would elbow you as you tried to slip past them. Strike one [atmosphere]. Strike two [service]: Our waiter must have been seriously hungover, stoned, or just all-around apathetic. He took away our chips and guacamole before we were finished, and when we asked him to refill our waters he made no effort to keep track of whose was whose. Luckily I was with friends so it wasn’t a big deal. Throughout our time there he just sat at the bar and stared at us the whole time… Weird. Strike three [food]: I got a veggie taco and a baja taco– The food was not at all memorable. I was very let down. We got a pitcher of frozen margaritas and my tongue is still torn up(2 days later) from the lime/sugar which has never happened to me before. Also, I noticed on other reviews that the chips and salsa were free– this was not the case for us. Douche waiter. Needless to say I will not be going back to Twisted Taco. Blah.

So I have never eaten here. Literally this is my tipsy bathroom stop before I go into Leopard Lounge. Things that I notice: a) A lotta frat boys seem to hang out here and pick up random clubby girls. b) There seems to be no sign of any ability that this restaurant has of making food c) It’s dirty as shit everytime I go into this establishment I dont think I will ever eat this restaurant. In fact, I’d be willing to bet that if I did eat this restaurant it would perhaps be my last meal. Great spot for running into the bathroom on nights of way too many drinks… never a spot to consider eating at… YIKES!

Tuesday’s all night they have $ 1 hard shell beef tacos that were a generous size and pretty damn tasty. $ 2 «premixed» Shooters Kamikazes and Washington Apples $ 3 well mixed drinks and Coors(light, I believe, but not positive) draft pint $ 4 House Margaritas(These were good, not too strong but did they trick) They also give complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were awesome, hot and thin but the salsa was pretty bland. I added lime and salt :) The waitress was very nice but seemed to be stretched too thin between tables up and down stairs. She was extremely short with us and would run away before we could ask for drinks. Other then that this is a great place for a Taco Tuesday and reasonably priced!

We came in here on a rainy Tuesday night for some quick mexican food and a few beers. The beers on the menu for drafts were totally different than what was on the menu, but it didn’t matter that much. Average beer prices for standard beers. The free chips and salsa were awesome! Three salsas with thin and hot chips. I had the three taco trio and it was a steal for $ 9 Wild Alaskan taco: I couldn’t taste the crabcake, but it was crispy and crunchy and I liked it Black and Blue: The steak was overcooked, but the flavor was great. Monterrey: Chicken and ranch and avocado were all fantastic together. To tell the truth I was expecting bad service and mediocre food, but I was pleasantly surprised, especially by the tasty tacos! They have so many you’ll find a bunch you’ll like. Bonus: 4 – 7 M-F all the food is HALFOFF! Fantastic Deal. For three beers and two meals plus chips and salsa, the total with tax and tip was about $ 30. Before 7 this is definitely a spot you want to check out for a bargain.

Service was kinda terrible for here on a weeknight, real slow. We came here because another restaurant in the area closed earlier then we expected. I wasn’t too impressed with the wings here but then again what did I expect from a mexican place :) The tacos were good with the mahi mahi and montarey chicken ones being my favorites. I would come back to try some of the other flavors, there was a ton!

Tacos were indeed very good. And not too expensive. They have whole wheat tortillas as well … a rarity in these parts. Great selection of Tacos Lost two stars because we had to wait A FULLHOUR during lunch time for our food. Waiter was courteous and got our order for 7 right even though I was sure he would screw it up.

This place annoys the hell out of me. I live close to here and it’s like Groundhog’s Day for frat boys and sorority girl clubbers every Fri & Sat. Pretty much on the weekends it’s solely a haven for retired Kappa Kappa Gamma Girls and their polo sporting boyfriends. Every time I pass by that place I cringe a little as the DJ they have hired just throws on a mix CD he made 5 years ago and everyone dances merrily with their bud lights and bad moves. It’s a horrible place, I’ve been there once and literally had to leave after 15 mins. The cops around here are usually bored so you can find them hitting on the girls, texting, and intimidating drunk guys towards the end of the evening. If you’re into reminiscing your college party past hit this place up. It’s definitely not a big deal and the music is mind numbing… I mean, how many times can you play«Don’t Stop Believing» by Journey in one night? C’mon!

I had a few drinks here on a trip to midtown with some friends. It was a great hidden spot with lots of locals which made for a nice atmosphere. There was a DJ mixing music upstairs and downstairs was some regular popular songs. All in all, fun place to check out. They have all the regular bar drinks, nothing to brag about.

So so. Just another oh-so-American Tex Mex with a sports bar flavor(How many screens do you need?). Food is OK, but I have nothing to rave about. Our particular waitress was harassing us every 5 minutes: «is everything OK?» I’ll rather go to Willy’s, skip the servers and save some money.

Twisted Taco is a hip spin on a Mexican restaurant: it’s a multilevel bar with a decent amount of outdoor seating, it’s a cowboy-western-themed Mexicali restaurant with a tequila list as long as my *ahem* arm, it’s second story karaoeke on the porch, it’s a dark and inviting bar downstairs. Unfortunately, I didn’t really get to evaluate any of these things, although I could tell that the menu was exciting and interesting, full of food I’d love to try, the beer list was generous and pitchers were available, the waitresses were cute(and one or two were sssssmokin!), and it looked like the portions were generous as well. Wait– I didn’t eat dinner there, I didn’t get tanked there, I didn’t meet a hottie there… what’s with the big red five-oh? Simple. The ‘Twisted Pickles’- a combination of deep-fried pickles and jalapenos, matched perfectly with a cup of creamy remoulade, made my mouth go ‘boinggggggg’. That’s it. So that’s really all I can really stand by, but dammit, it’s enough. Junk food heaven, thy name is Twisted Pickles. I’ll be back looking for more.

This place is getting old… I don’t mean the walls itself, but the crowd. We were there on Friday night for my friend’s pre-wedding party and I still noticed cute girls drinking at the bar checking out guys in polo shirts and khakis, but closer look revealed that they are drunk mature adult woman then«girls», and bolding guys who are still feeling in their prime. Upstairs is karaōke room — which is not as popular as downstairs bar. Good bartender service, as usual in Atlanta. It was good to see good old friends there too.

Obnoxious douche crowd, like Flip Flops. No bathrooms, rude drunk skinny white bitches, hot as bejesus. The basement bathrooms on a not so busy night are perfect for smoking a bowl, though, so overall it’s a lose-win. Poor service, I was so pissed my tip for him was to pay fucking attention(and $ 2 for two drinks, of course).

LOL… Ok so funny story… I actually went to Twisted Taco last week to visit my friend who was doing a Brittany Spears Listening Party(he’s a marketer so it was his job LOL)… It’s not hard to believe that know one was there for the Brittany Spears celebration. The fries were horrible and they gave me a thousand ketchup packets instead of a bottle to pour LOL. The fries were dry and tasted like the kind you get out of the grocery store. The margarita was lousy, I’ve definitely had better. WOW, I think this could be my first BAD review. I probably would not go back to Twisted Taco anytime soon, unless my friend decides to «throw another party» there… ;)

For drinks and wild times, Twisted Taco is pretty solid. Two main issues — it’s small and it gets crowded quick. The good thing is that most male patrons don’t cause trouble, and the girls are usually pretty attractive and fun. The second issue is that you need to be pretty assertive to get bar service — gentle shoving to get a place at the bar, the $ 20 wave the flag trick(even if you are opening a tab with a card), and getting the bartender who actually recognizes you and remembers your drink is all necessary to get a buzz at this place. The good thing is, besides those two issues — it’s pretty much all upside. A $ 5 cover after 11p is a small price to pay to dance with hot girls to 90s jams and make friends with people you will forget in 48 hours. Oh, and the food is decent.

I don’t do out much for nighttime fun. Not like I used to back in the day. However…for someone that has turned into a homebody, I really had a good time at Twisted. I met some friends for karaōke on a recent Friday night. And, since TT is closer to work than where I live, I decided to end my week by arriving ridiculously early for some grub, drinks, chilling out solo and an assured parking spot. I loved it. The crowd(little did I know) hadn’t arrived yet. Parking was easy to find. My quesadilla was yummy and so were the rum and cokes. My husband and friends eventually arrived and we ordered more food. The garbage burrito tasted really good: nicely stuffed with decent veggies and meat. The teriyaki chicken wings were delicious as was the accompanying mayo/chipotle dipping sauce.(I actually re-created that at home!). We actually got some karaōke in that night but, my favorite part was burning off all that alcohol by dancing in between the amateur singing. You do what you feel like doing. Do you want to a sing? Do you want to just stand around with your friends, drink and watch people? Do you want to stand around drink, watch people and occasionally bust out dancing? It’s all good. TT may not be THE best place for a night out for cultured and sophisticated crowd but for a laid back and easy night out with decent food and drinks with cool buds, it is on my list. Two caveats and solutions: 1. Due to the fact that our server upstairs was already lit when we got there, by the time we were ready to leave, our credit cards got miss-swiped with our friends tabs. So, my husband and I ended up with the largest tab at the table. The other two tabs were much smaller. We agreed to even it out later. There was no way the errors were going to get corrected in that mayhem. Solution: If you go with a crowd, just get one tab and divide it yourselves with cash. 2. Be prepared for the sea of humanity inside the small establishment and outside after 9 pm. We left around 12 a.m. and there was a long line waiting to get inside. Solution: Get there early if you want a table. Upon leaving, my husband told me he overheard a guy offering me $ 3 to touch his arse. My husband told him ‘I don’t think she’d be interested’. If I’d heard him, I’d have elbowed his gut for free. Lastly, I sure hope there never is a fire emergency during their late night hours. There would be a mass stampede with casualties.

Twisted Taco, you left me disappointed and a little ill(sorry inside joke) TT I’ve hung out with you before so I knew exactly what I was getting into, the loud music, rowdy crowd, over capacity of people. I didn’t bargain for the cattty girls that seemed to accompany you this night, but very happy we received the hot guys ;-). I’ll probably only visit you, like this time, as a last minute, spur of the moment type of thing. Hanging out in a small, hot box of a room isn’t really my ideal place. Sorry Twisted Taco, we’re just not meant to be.

I love gettin’ TWISTED. I have been a patron since 2004 and I had my 35th bday party on the patio. They totally hooked me up with tent(it was March) to keep me warm… wait, The tent was there all winter to start with, I guess I am not SO special. I love getting TWISTED! I love Mikey, who is the door man-he calls me Esposita(Wifey) So I guess he is my future Ex husband. He is Colombian, I am Colombian… blah Blah blah. He’s got my back. I love the bartenders, and specially, certain barback, and I love this place for its sausage festiveness! men abound. Too many, sometimes. It is a very casual place and has great food. I drink on the cheap and love that it has the Karaōke bar upstairs. Not sure why girls show up all dressed up here, I guess if they are coming from some fancy dinner or club. I prefer to show up in flip flop or tennis shoes. Drunken patrons will totally spill on you. I am glad I am friends with the bouncers, because I need a personal bodyguard after most my visits. I never worry if I am going to get doinked with roofies or too drunk on my own, because they are watching out for me. specially Mikey. I probably owe him hundreds of dollars in cab fare he has taken care of for me. It may be time for me to take a drinking break… no. No? I have a favorite server, but there is no way I can remember her name, EVER. Amanda? whatever, she knows me, that is ALL that matters.

It’s a fun, truly casual place in Midtown — a great place to just relax and hang out. I’ve been there many times over, sometimes for food, sometimes just for drinks. There’s a wide selection of tacos and margaritas. Last visit, we sat on the porch upstairs to enjoy the warm spring night. The pomegranate margaritas were delicious. Our server was very attentive, especially when you consider that we were the only ones upstairs, making us easy to forget. I particularly enjoyed the Greek taco and the Buffalo Bill. I don’t recommend the Thai(yes, I know, what WAS I thinking?). The salsa trio is good, particularly the chipotle red one. The biggest issue is parking. It will cost you more than your food. But if you’re going to make a night of it in the area, it’s worth it to park in the deck nearby, instead of the shady and somewhat uneven random lots…

I’ve been frequenting Twisted Taco for about 3 or 4 years. The service is incredibly friendly and helpful… and fun. Thursday, Friday and Saturdays are always good party nights with a packed bar downstairs and karaōke upstairs. Lately, I’ve been attending Monday night Trivia, with a chance of winning gift certificates good toward drinks their extensive menu, featuring Fajita Wings and all types of yummy tacos, burritos and nachos usually, available before 11pm or 12 am(depending on the night)
