United States Post Office

This is the worst post office I’ve ever been to — the staff is often rude, the wait times are long and the packages are never delivered on time. After dealing with yet another harrowing experience with them two days ago, when I went to mail out a series of packages, I was met with lots of «I don’t knows» to «What does insurance on a package cover,» among other common sense questions a post office worker should know.
Seriously, this happened:
«Look, I’m not trying to be rude [I only said this after asking THREE times for a direct answer] but I would like my packages insured and I would like to know what the insurance I’m paying for covers. If you don’t know can you ask your supervisor?»
«He doesn’t know anything. He’s the one asking us questions.»
(You have to imagine the dead tone of voice and frustrated attitude)
My packages were supposed to be delivered on Wednesday — I paid for two-​day shipping on Monday — and they currently sit, still, about 500 miles away from their final destination.
Last straw. Time to find another post office, especially since it seems I always end up being assisted by the rudest employee ever. I’m not even sure her face knows how to form a smile but her tone of voice knows how to tell you, clearly, she’d rather be anywhere else and doesn’t care about what you need, no matter how professional and nice you try to be toward her. Poor lady.

Went to go mail a package to the UK, walked in at 4:30pm. Waited a bit, one person was a head of me. A worker called me to the counter to help me, and looked at my customs form and immediately told the worker next to her that «she didn’t know» how to do «these». She never addressed me, instead tried to look up the UK on her screen and was unable to complete the transaction, the worker next to her said that the package might not even go out because it was after 4:30 (pm). Frustrated… I took my form and package back, and told her I’d take my package somewhere else. It didn’t help that she didnt know where the Country was, nor knew how to navigate the postal computer in front of her. Never in my life have I ever experienced incompetency at this level, especially at a united states post office main hub. I was elusively dumbfounded. Wow! No kiosk (self service) at this location.

I had a great experience getting my passport renewed at this location. My attendant Derek welcomed me when I walked in the door. He was ready on time, and have very clear instructions on how to fill out the necessary paperwork.
Derek clearly communicated the various costs associated with different shipping options and delivery time periods. He was friendly and courteous the entire time. I was in and out in about 15 minutes.
I went at 11am on a Thursday, so I’m not sure how this office functions during peak times. I would recommend this post office to someone else for passport renewals or otherwise.

I don’t know… This Post Office seems okay. I got here around 9am to pick up a package, and there were about 3 other people inside. Parking lot was spacious, but very few cars were there. There was just one person working there, but he was very friendly. He seemed to know ²⁄₃ of the other people in line by name or face, and politely asked specific questions about their lives. Then again, it was 9 am and he was probably fresh into work and still in a decent mood, before the lunch rush.
All in all, I was able to get in and out in under 10 minutes which is astonishing, but well appreciated. The room was huge, and had a long counter from the door to the entrance of the line that spanned around 15 feet, so I can only imagine how busy this place must be at lunch time and during the weekend.
THE VERDICT
At a 9am on a Friday morning, there were less than 5 people there. I would say that is a good time to get here if you don’t want to wait. You can rest assured that there will be a line around lunch time every day, and every weekend. A single person was working there, but he was friendly and attentive to all of the patrons.

This post office is the worst one in the world if you want to get a passport. First off they can not take your photos there camera broke go to cvs to get a photo ID come back next we need a photocopy of your state lincense our copy machine is broke go to cvs make a copy. This is the stuff I saw waiting in line happening to other people wanting to get a passport same for me too. So I went in to get my passport done with my wife a couple a weeks ago, she made a appointment for us. They finished her passport, So I thought they were going to do my passport next, the lady said with my wife standing next to me, do you have a appointment I said yes what is name the postal lady said your name is not on the list, my wife made appointment for both of us but they could not do my passport because my name was not on the list I said I am here. The postal lady said you have to make a new appointment I said why, this part is funny! because people are waiting in line when in the hell has post office cared about how long people wait in line. So I make a new appointment two weeks later this time I got all my stuff should take zero time, well hell no. I get to the counter with all my forms and my expired passport and the lady tells me I need a birth certificate but I have a passport I am citizen of the united states, go to home look for birth certificate can not find it have to go to vital certificate office to get a new birth cerfifate, go back up there to get passport the new lady tell me the passport you have would have workedFine, the mop hair lady who works there needs some more training to know that a passport can be used as a valid ID for citizenship. So if you want to get a passport done at this location be prepared to wait and get the run around from employers that do not know how to do there job.
