Wow, I am totally shocked by some of these reviews! I bought this package a few years ago and it is such a blessing! If you really understand the way their program works and the value it is a no brainer! This is no different than the concierge services that the top doctors are now doing for people that want quality care and to catch issues before they become catastrophic! What some do not understand is that while this is a 10 year plan with no price increases each year, you do not have to use it yourself and can gift it to a friend, client or loved one! I just had a friend call me who had a serious health scare and a very high deductible on his health insurance. The testing place that he spoke with was three times the prices for one test that my entire membership cost me for 10 years and this may just save his life! Scott was amazing who sold me this and Judy is so amazing and helpful! This facility is a gift, the staff are so kind, quick and they have given me a CD every time my daughter or I have gone there and the radiologist had the reports to me the following week and was thorough! If you look at the cost of the entire membership you will see that it equates to one test elsewhere! I would rather have it and not need it than to need it and not have it! Ok, so my wife and I just went to Virtual Imaging Atlanta this morning and it wasn’t good. Very sales oriented (and I have done sales in the past) like a timeshare for 40 mins and then I told him we just wanted to use our Groupon and see this process through one time before committing further. I legitimately told him I would consider his offer of «Concierge Service» for $ 8995 for 10 years after using the Groupon, and see. He said ok and walked us out to another waiting room.
At this point my wife and I were ok. But in five minutes our sales guy came back and said it would be 45 – 50 more minutes. There was another sales guy giving it to another couple there and honestly they could have been actors because everything was said loud enough for us to hear. Unusual for a semi-​medical procedure.
We stepped outside discussed it and left, because I am more than 50% sure we would have gotten another round of sales effort from the guy 45 minutes later. Now I have to try to get the money back for my Groupon. Maybe they were just busy by the time we came out of the 1^st sales presentation. Even if that was the case, I had defined, before I went that we would do a max of about 1 hour 20 minutes.
I think this review is fair, and it may be true that others have moved through quicker. But have no doubt about it what you will hear is a about how you need to have these scans done annually for it to be any good, and that they are being reimbursed by the American Heart Assn and research organizations. His angle was that they sell your scans to them as part of a clinical study for a control group.
Also, you can only get one scan at this price every 5 years because they won’t get reimbursed for more than one scan under a patient #. In addition, the cost of the «Concierge Service» will basically double if we use the Groupon because we would have used the one scan already. Absolute bologna at 9 am on a weekday.

Extremely disappointed in my experience with this business. Professional and polite staff. Yet poor time mangers and misleading promotions. Drove a long way and took time off of work for the appointment, waited then sat through a sales presentation asking me to spend over 6,000. After this was told I would need to wait an additional 2 hours before being seen due to back log. I’m one who would have gladly paid for preventative health and rescheduled if all was revealed up front. Unfortunately this incident just raised my blood pressure.

I would like to share my experience with Atlanta Virtual Imaging. Before I went, I read all the reviews I could get my hands on. Most of them were very negative. We purchased a Groupon and went anyway. I figured that if they started any funny business on me, I would be ready. I have no doubt that the experiences of others were accurately represented. I believe that through the power of the internet, this business has improved. Yeah Internet!!! My wife and I walked in. The front desk staff was friendly and cheerful. We waited about 15 minutes in the waiting room. We then went back to the «Let’s make a deal» room. You need to know now that the Groupon is a marketing tool to get people into the business. Lots of businesses do this and Atlanta Virtual Imaging is no exception. It was similar to the timeshare presentations that people talk about. You get a «free» gift but you have to sit through the sales pitch. The gift in this case was a $ 79 heart and lung scan.
The salesman, in my opinion, was sincere and genuine. He believes that their product really saves lives. He went through and outlined various options and put some great spin on it. However, at the end of the day, it is a very expensive venture and one my wife and I did not want to afford. It boiled down to multiple scans over the course of years, whether you need them or not; and they finance (or offer financing through some medical credit card).
If you need the scans, it might be a great deal. As it turned out, my scan was completely clear. I got a score of 0 on the calcification so I am not sure why I would need to keep going back. During the sales pitch, I got two really big red flags. 1) If we were to get the deal, we had to buy today. This always makes me pucker. I loathe sales tactics like this. You are asking me to make a $ 5,000 decision before I walk out the door? Big olé’ NO on that one. 2) The reason why we had to decide today is that otherwise we would be «diluting the test pool» and we wouldn’t qualify for the subsidies. This is because they don’t track our names with the test??? Maybe I heard him wrong but this doesn’t even make sense. My name was attached to the test when it came via email so that sounds like some bogus stuff. I have to say though that once he realized we weren’t going to buy that day, he politely thanked us and the sales pitch ended. I was on the scanner within 20 minutes and the whole scan lasted about 7 – 10 minutes. I had to hold my breath a few times and the table wasn’t that comfortable but hey, it was 7 minutes.
The information you get from the scan is minimal but what do you expect for $ 79. I found out I had no calcification, no masses detected and that I am truly unremarkable; which is good for a medical report. Would I recommend the Groupon deal? The answer to that is sure, go for it. My experience there was pretty good. Just know going in, they are selling something and are going to try and get you to buy it. If you are just doing the Groupon scan, keep politely saying no. If you are interested in the scans, I would request all the information up front before your appointment so you can go over it and make your decision an informed one.

I would not recommend this company. I understood that there would be a presentation to upsell me on their services. I was very open minded about that… What I got a very unprofessional sales pitch with plenty of curse words thrown in. Who in their right mind would walk in and drop $ 2500+ for the package they were offering without any time to take home some literature so they can research the service and make an informed decision. Not me.
I also felt disappointed with the actual scan. I don’t understand why they couldn’t give me a copy of the scan on a disc. I would have been more than willing to pay and an extra fee to make that happen. Their cost would have been minimal to make that happen. The only way I could have had a copy of that would have been if I would have actually enrolled in their program they were offering.
I received my report which contained 8 very small (1.5 inch x 1.5 inch) low quality still photos which are basically worthless and didn’t show any detail. I feel like I pretty much wasted my time and money.
Overall I was very unhappy with this offer and would not recommend even with a Groupon. My recommendation to Groupon is to remove this offer entirely as this made their company look bad.

I bought a Groupon for my husband as his doctor had advised him to get a heart scan just to see how his heart looks. I called to make an appt. and the receptionist refused to let him use the Groupon and have the scan unless I went with him. I asked her if this was a sales presentation, and she said it was to show us the benefits of regular scans. I was mad that the fine print on the Groupon did not say you had to go as a couple under any conditions. It said that if you both buy one, you have to visit together. I got a refund from Groupon and told them about the deception.

My Opinion and My Experience
Bought a groupon for a heart scan from this business. One of the worst days of my entire life. A sales lady first starts out with medical information, then it turns into a high pressure sale pitch for you to sign a 10 year contract to get your body scanned ever year with CT –or RADIATION!!!
They push you to buy not needed CT scans, which use radiation… stupidly we got talked into buying an abdominal scan for my husband, from my memory the sales lady said it would be less radiation than a chest x-​ray. Later, I looked this up at home and a CT abdominal scan uses something like 300X one chest x ray!!!
