This would have been a 4 star rating if it weren’t for a couple things that just plain annoyed me. This is based on my first visit for a sew-in with leave out. Pros. Convenient location Nice salon– very trendy and cute Pretty affordable in my opinion Online booking with plenty of stylists to choose from– super convenient high ratings on Unilocal with an IG page that shows the work of the stylists and they do amazing work. Now the cons… First of all, let me first state that I am typing this with a massive headache(from my braids) and temper flaring from being so annoyed. I had made an APPOINTMENT at 11 am on the dot. I arrived 15 minutes early just to figure in parking, traffic etc. When I arrived the doors were locked so I called and the girl who answered(couldn’t been the receptionist because there was no one in the salon) told me that my stylist would be there within 15 – 20 minutes. Pet peeve number 1. I hate when people are late! So about 30 minutes later my stylist calls me and asks if I was still showing up to my appt. Umm What? I informed her that I had been parked and waiting for her since 10:30. So I go inside, not at one point did she apologize her lateness. So at this point I’m a little annoyed. I sit down in her chair and for at least 30 minutes she is on the phone talking before she even comes to the chair to look at my hair. Now I will give her props, my braids are neat and fresh. She was still braiding at around 12:30 and I asked her would she be done around 2:45 because I had work she informed me yea she believed that she would be. Ok. so around 1:30 she begins to actually sew the hair in. The closer it gets to 2pm I get anxious because I knew that I was going to be super livid if I had to call my manager and tell her I was going to be late. So at 2:30 and nowhere near being finished I called into work saying I’m going to be late. At this point, I am extremely mad and ready to go. As far as my hairstyle goes my stylist did great, but I think towards the end because of time she started to rush a bit and it showed but overall I’m happy with my hair(super cute) but the whole process was almost 3hrs! What kind of sew-in takes that long? Overall, I would make another visit because my hair was bomb and I got a lot of compliments but to fully judge the other aspects I may need to make another visit.

I just relocated to Atlanta & I’ve been looking for a great hair stylist. Well, it looks like I’ve found her @ W Hair Studio. My Silk Press came out beautiful. Miya did an awesome job and she knows her stuff! She reminded me of the things I was not doing to increase healthier hair! I will definitely be back!

I have had 2 seeing and quite a few silk presses from here by Miya. I am very picky about my hair but I have always been satisfied and get lots of compliments from people thinking my sewins are my real hair! My growth has been amazing as well. Her coworker Ashley is amazing as well. They do not cut your hair with a trim so you won’t have inches of growth gone! You see the results! Love this plAce

Where do I begin. I’ve been going to Miya since she moved from her previous location, off and on for a couple of years while in anesthesia school out of state. Now that I’m back in ATL permanently, I realized how much I missed her! Besides her ALWAYS having your best(hair) interests @ heart, she truly enjoys what she does!(I was convinced I needed my natural hair thinned out, however she silk pressed it and curled it& had my natural hair looking like a sew-in! Everybody, including my mom& daughter thought I had a sew-in!!) Between my schedule being hectic, Miya & her daughter stayed late(after hours), because she KNOWS how I am about my hair; just to ensure I’m looking fabulous for the next day! Talk about going out of your way to ensure your clients are happy; now it’s moments like that, I could appreciate! I don’t know if her and her daughter remind me so much of myself and my daughter, but I get tickled and love them to pieces! I always enjoy getting my hair done! However, they will ensure you’re taken care of! They treat you as if you’re family, and ALWAYS comfortable. They will never let you leave the salon without being 100% satisfied. Miya’s prices are reasonable, however does stellar work! Her salon is clean, professional, and she uses great products(do I need to state again, she had my natural hair looking like a sew in!) and definitely worth visiting! She makes doing hair look easy. She always tells me, Miya: «All you have to do is… this»…Me: no Miya… you’re just gifted, it’s not that easy! Love you guys!

Great local business!!! Friendly staff, very professional and it is apparent they are passionate about their craft. Thank you! I’m new to town and felt very welcome and comfortable here. They were very accommodating, and even gave me a great new client discount on color. I’ll be back! Keep up the good job, ladies.

I have been going to Miya for a little over two years. Her sew-ins helped me grow out my natural hair without any damage. I have also gotten highlights and full color with no breakage. My hair remains healthy and continues to grow! Her prices are reasonable and she is one of the nicest stylist that I have ever been to.

I’m typing this with a stinging scalp and sore pockets. My sewin lasted for two days before the pain became too unbearable. Miya was very nice, but for $ 135 I expect quick service that does not leave me bald. She did offer to have me come in to loosen, but I didn’t have the time and I thought it a bit impossible as the whole package created the tension. When I decide to have another I will choose a different salon. It’s your hair and it is *just* hair, but you don’t want to pay for pain.
