Wells Fargo Bank

This location is ridiculous, right now it’s 6 customers waiting to be helped. And it’s 4 employees standing around looking instead of getting behind the window and offer some service. First! Of all I DON’T LIKE BANKS ANYWAY, I only deal with Credit Unions. I’m here with my great aunt. Once i leave here I’m going to open up an account with a credit union for her.
My aunt has been with this bank for ever and a day. Even when it was Wachovia. I can say once your seen, the tellers are very nice and polite. But! It’s getting to the dang window is the problem.
Me personally think they need to close all banks and open up more credit unions.

DO NOT GO TO MELISSA. DO NOT LET HER TOUCH YOUR BANK ACCOUNTS.
My checking account was hacked into by some jerk. I went to the branch to handle it, and Melissa advised me I should open a new checking account while she put a hold on my compromised account. She failed to tell me that the hold made her the only person that could transfer any money out that account, I couldn’t even touch it. I had everything I count on financially automatically going in that account.
Friday I missed an entire day of work dealing with this. When I sat down with Melissa I told her I needed the process to be fast so I could get to work. She took 45 minutes processing everything, and then proceeded to try selling me extra services. She opened up a savings account under my name without my knowledge, and signed me up for overdraft protection without asking me. I was told if I needed to transfer money all I would need would be to speak to a banker.
Saturday comes along and I have money deposited in my account with a hold on it. I was in the middle of a work shift (I have to drive around for work) and needed gas money. I called the 1 – 800 number and spoke to 3 different bankers that all told me only Melissa could touch my account, no matter how much information I verified about myself. I was told to call the bank (it was midnight, obviously they would be closed) and if I couldn’t get ahold of her, I would have to wait until Monday to get any of my own money. I was stranded 40 miles away from my home, with no gas or money, and was unable to finish my work shift.
Fast forward to today (Monday). I showed up when the bank opened to get my money out of my account. Melissa was busy with a customer so I waited for 30 minutes until I had to leave to go to work, so I left her with the message that I needed my money transferred over and the hold taken off my account. I waited for 2 hours and nothing was done. I went back to the bank during my lunch and waited another hour to speak to her. (I think anyone in their right mind would be upset at this point.) She told me all I had to do was call her and she would’ve transferred the money right then and there (so why has it taken you over 3 hours now to do this transfer at a time you’re actually working?).
I instructed her to close the 2 accounts she opened for me and to give me all of the money in my checking. She only closed one account and told me she took care of it. I asked her if she was going to apologize to me for making me miss work and leaving me stranded with no access to my own money for days, and she told me that I owed HER an apology for being so upset with her. Are you kidding me?
This experience has ruined my outlook on WF. I was a loyal customer for 8 years, even worked for the company for a few months, and told anyone looking for a bank to use WF. Now, I will be more than happy to tell everyone about this horrid experience, specifically with this branch.

I have no idea why they haven’t closed this branch or built a new building to relocate. I used to drive by here a lot and think back to what this neighborhood must have looked like 10 – 20 years ago. Maybe more businesses? Maybe more families in homes? I don’t mean to imply that this is a ghost town or there isn’t anything cool about Ellsworth… I’m just sayin’.
Anyway…
The location isn’t super convenient, but it’s not bad and if you do a little planning ahead it can be a time saver. Plus, it’s the closest Wells Fargo ATM to Swinging Richard’s.
