Being a Clark Atlanta Panther, I’ve been privileged to use the resources at this library for three years. It is a replica of a famous library and is very beautiful inside and has numerous resources that are readily available. As far as I know, it’s main use is by AUC students and faculty as well as guests. It is a beautifully structured building with local and historical art galleries. The librarians are overly friendly and are just waiting to help any student who is eager to engage in their research. The library consists of three floors that have various study areas as well computer labs that are accessible to those who need them. There are even quiet study areas, private rooms, and individual study nooks. There are also conference rooms with portable laptops available for sessions! I tend to use all the resources available, including the research articles that have been purchased for academic use. From my experience, this is a great academic area but can also be a place of complacency with the wrong people. It’s good to avoid during mid terms and finals as it’s more of a club than a library, but do not let that deter you as those dedicated to studying will be successful. It is important to know that they do have a café available and an eating area, as well as free wifi: the wifi is ok, but it’s better to use their computers as it’s unreliable especially during times of high output.

I’m still trying to navigate my way around Emory while still dealing with being viewed as somewhat of an intellectual wallflower for my affinity of large print books. Never judge a book by a cover they say, I’ll add never judge a font by its size! I came here to do some research for some feature films I’m comprising and I was totally enraptured with the grandiose collection. The music & media library is outstanding and a wonderful resource. The staff is nice, and helpful, and kind and helping me feel that I’m not a spaz for my large print love. I even explained the virtues of the large font way and I think I may have converted a couple more followers. Or maybe they were just bein’ Southern and nice.

Beautiful classical architecture and peaceful atmosphere filled with invigorating minds makes this university library one of my favorites to study at. I’m not an Emory student, however the universities in Georgia have all agreed to make their libraries accessible to all college students in rolled in Georgia. So if you get distracted at your own college library because you run into everyone you know ever and instead of hard core studying, you end up ordering pizza and sneaking in beers to party in the upper halls(not me of course), I suggest you study at Emory’s library. Just call the front desk to find out the hours available for visitors and to ask about parking — you don’t want a $ 50 dollar parking ticket. My favorite room is silent hall on the second floor. It is filled with those big wooden tables with green hooded lamps attached in the middle and large comfy chairs. No whispering allowed.
