Some of the best country food I’ve had in a long time. Missed the beef ribs today ‚(some of the best I’ve ever had) but pork chop was awesome with Mac and cheese and yams. Don’t miss this place

I am as Ghetto as it gets when it comes to BBQ and i Love My Que and Soul Food. I Have not found a Hole in a Wall as Good as this Place when it comes to BBQ. By the Way when i say i am as Ghetto as it gets,.don’t be afraid of The People Hanging out(Welcome to the Hood If you never Been B4) You can get your food to go or sit in the Building across the way. Chop pork sandwich and collards so good my eyes wouldn’t stay focused! The sauce was amazing! Black eyed peas were pretty good too– different than what I am used to because they are kind of mashed up a bit, but I’d definitely get them again.

Wyatt’s is straight out of central casting of what an authentic southern barbecue shack should look like. And like most of the best, there was a line out the door when we arrived at 4:30 on a Saturday afternoon. We had already had a full barbecue lunch, so we didn’t fully put it through its paces by trying a mess of sides, but we got a slab of ribs, turnip greens and cornbread. The sides were not memorable — the greens were cold, and the cornbread dry — but the ribs were amazing. They were big and juicy, and the sauce was one of the best I’ve had in Atlanta — sweet and sour, vinegar based, thinner than many sweet sauces that can sometimes be gloppy and overwhelm the ribs. Service was friendly, and there’s a screened-in porch across the parking lot where you can eat your carry-out food. Definitely high quality meats and worth a trip.

I had the beef ribs, mac & cheese, collards, tasty going down! And hours later I had food poisoning. Ughhh. I won’t be going back…

Humble abode, spectacular barbeque. Perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and tangy. Going to be returning for sure. Feel bad I passed it so many times before and let the façade discourage me. Not much(very little) room inside, but friendly staff prep your takeaway orders. Side items of coleslaw and baked beans were on point as well. Beans weren’t cloyingly sweet as at many BBQ place and slaw had nice fresh taste, not drowning in mayo as at many other places too.

I agree that the BBQ is better than Fox Bros’ and better value for your $$ as well. The SIDES, however, were disappointing. Yams were cold and likely not recently cooked, the mac and cheese was far too greasy, and they forgot my collards from the order altogether! I recommend going with the ribs, the chicken, or the pork, and leaving the sides to Fox Bros’.

This place used to be good even though it’s technically a shack. We had dinner here the other night and it was terrible. Owners: Can you please invest in your location?

Food was fantastic!!! However, we were only given a few meats to choose from rather than the entire menu which was a bummer. What we ended up choosing was still reallyyyyy good though! Macaroni and cheese is a must, I also had potato salad which was great! My boyfriend had collards, which he has strong opinions about(he’s a chef) and he loved it more than any BBQ place we’ve had in a while! Definitely will be returning for food. Atmosphere is a little ruff and scary at night so be aware! I made sure to look for the health inspection sign.

Small down home soul food spot that will flip your taste buds out and satisfy the strongest cravings and appetite! First glance, you’d question the appearance — however the food is like Sunday afternoon dinner at «Big Mama» house with family and neighborhood friends that always seems to show up for food, but all the same welcome — if you can identify with that — then you’ll love this place — complete with«Big Mama» to boot! If you haven’t been privy to such an experience — well you’re in for a treat like none other — my first visit took me home to simpler times. The fare is authentic soul that will make your«Mama Slap you» — cuz Big Mah don’t play it any other way! Special place indeed!

I’m a fan of this place. I went on a Saturday afternoon and there was a line. The parking lot was full and I smelled smoke, so that was a good sign. I stood in line before placing my order which took about 10 minutes. Once I placed my order it took another 5 minutes to make my plate, pay, and checkout. Now be warned, it is very small and tight, but I don’t care– I just came for the ribs! The customer service was good and the price was good compared to what I ordered. I ordered rib tips, mac and cheese, yams, and cornbread. All were very good. While in line, I overheard another patron ask for banana pudding which was sold out– so that must be good as well. Hopefully I can try it the next time I go. And just a small note– I did see my food go into a microwave by the register although it was not long. They may need to invest in some kitchen items that keep the food warm. I will not deduct any stars for that, because it’s so minor to me and my meat didn’t dry out. Either way, I would go again.

This place looked like a shake you may found in North GA so I thought I’d give it a try, but once inside it just looks like a shake that is falling apart. The server put my puled pork in the microwave, and you can guess how dry and tough it was. Never again.

I got the Pork Rib plate to go and I sat at my desk and ate it I thought I don’t think I have ever been any happier than I am right now. The ribs were SODELICIOUS. The meat was tender but crisp in places and the sauce was light and flavorful. The black eye peas and collared greens accompanied the ribs well. I am eating a low carb diet and this dish totally satisfied me. On top of that it made me HAPPY!

Why 4 Stars… On the way to Ration and Dram on a date we passed Wyatt’s with a small crowd of 4 or 5 waiting in a light rain. I instantly bookmarked this place with plans to return. Later this same day after leaving R&D headed to a family gathering the Saturday night before Easter we passed by again noted the crowd gone and decided to swing in and check it out. After verifying the authenticity of this place, noting piles of wood, and a lack of boiling pots(see Fat Matt’s) We greedily ordered a half slab, potato salad, collard greens and cornbread to have as or Easter dinner. Fast forward Peter Cottontail is way down the trail and I put the ribs in a steamer to warm. OMG ! The ribs are legit. The cornbread was like grandma’s and(WHACK) That was ya momma getting smacked over the ribs! Personal preference aside with regard to rib cuts, type of sauce and sides this place is 100% legit.

The food is good but they run out of items at night too quickly considering they dont close till 11pm. Pretty much everything i have ordered from there tasted good. My recomendation is to get there extra early, as they dont do call ahead orders either. Very affordable homestyle cooking. My Recomendations are: Collard Greens, Macaroni and Cheese, Baked Chicken and Potato Salad.

August 16th, 2013 My sweetheart Liz V knows how much I love BBQ. She posted a glorious review that might as well have been a bat signal into the midnight sky. For within moments of reading it, I slipped on my Super BBQ Snob leotard suit and began to route my course to disassemble this BBQ with my super BBQ eating teeth. But like all suburban superheros, a villain(aka my wife) opposed me! She told me she was already working on dinner and I wasn’t going anywhere. Dang it!!! «But I have this suit on honey and it’s hard to get out of» I pleaded, but to no avail. The options I was given were a) stay home and eat or b) never receive another home cooked meal again. ***pffffft was the sound of my BBQ bat signal going out*** But never fear BBQ citizens! She said nothing about going to get it the following day :-) So while she was off to work, I took my rare day off to continue my Quest for great BBQ in the Metro ATL. — — — — — - — - — - THEEXPERIENCE I must admit I rolled up to this joint completely surprised at how loosely the term«diner» is being used. This place looks more like a trailer home with a severely decomposing roof & screened front porch. The structure looked so questionable I was afraid to go inside. If hole in the wall had a picture next to it in the dictionary, it would surely be of Wyatt’s Diner. That being said, I firmly believe Hole in the Walls provide some of the countries best tasting foods and Wyatt’s surely delivered. Aside from a small sitting area, space is crazy limited. The order counter is at the entrance of the kitchen. One of the ladies from the kitchen tried to squeeze by me in a space meant for lovers only, because I’m certain she felt almost as violated as I did as every nook and cranny of her body bumped along every nook and cranny of mine! LOL A laminated menu is right there on the counter where someone waits to take your order while another will cash you out when your food is wrapped and ready. I paid my ticket and took my bounty back to my car for consumption.
— — — — — - — - — - THEFOOD The BBQ Rib Diner($ 10) included about 6 bones of ribs, sides and one cornbread square. The sides I chose were candied yams(which were ah-mazing) and Macaroni n’ Cheese(very, very good). The ribs had excellent flavor, definitely seasoned well enough to not need one drop of BBQ sauce. However, my eyebrow was raised when they took my ribs and placed them in a microwave for about 1 minute just prior to handing me my order. This indicated to me the ribs had been ready for a while or possibly yesterday’s leftovers… which was more likely the case considering I had come just one hour after opening. This also cause the ribs to be drier than I would have liked and to top that off, they were barely luke warm in the center. I must say however, that despite my disappointment in the temperature, they had outstanding flavor. — — — — — - — - — - THEVERDICT This is some GOOOOODBBQ and really good sides! I’ll keep my super BBQ beacon lite for a return visit in hopes that I might experience ribs off the rack instead of microwave heated. There is no doubt they can deliver excellent flavor, so I’m being more generous than I probably should with the stars ;-) Until next time citizens, this is your friendly Metro BBQ superhero taking hit after hit for the common good of all BBQ rib fans. If you happen to see me on the street, please be mindful of the suit. No matter how tight and exposed I may appear… no touchy!

I was on the way to Anns Snack Bar when I smelled the amazing BBQ coming from Wyatts. I pulled in to the parking lot and stared oddly at this tiny little shack trying to convince myself to go in. Memorial Drive is full of what I like to call«mystery food joints.» From the outside, the buildings look like termites holding hands but the real treasure is inside. Just like Miss Anns, this tiny little house packs some amazing food. I walked through the screen porch in to the building and was immediately greeted by a man carrying a small mop like object covered in barbecue sauce. The inside of the restaraunt is tiny with several prep areas, steaming pots, hot plates of sides and a make shift smoke pit fireplace. I didn’t care what the place looked like. I wanted whatever they had in those pots and whatever this man was painting with sauce! The guy made a few funny comments about how I stood out and asked me if I was lost but I quickly gained his trust when I asked about their burnt ends and pig feet. Don’t let my OCD wardrobe fool you! I know my BBQ and I take it very seriously! His wife appeared beyond the cash register and came over to talk to me about how she made everything daily with her own two hands. «No cans in here, baby!» She said with a wink. «I put my foot in it!» Now, don’t freak out my fellow OCD Unilocalers, she doesn’t literally put her foot in the food but if she did, its one hell of a foot because the food is amazing! I ordered the full rack of ribs, a pulled pork sandwich and lemonade. They have a seperate screened in deck area to the right of the building that is used as their dining room with a good view of the parking lot and Memorial Drive. Excellent people watching while you stuff your face with their lick your fingers clean barbecue! The ribs were thick and meaty and while I hate to admit it, put Fat Matt’s to the #2 spot! I chose mine without sauce because the rub is outstanding. I found myself forcing myself to chew longer just so I can keep tasting each bite. The meat falls off the bone and is so moist and smoked so perfectly I am surprised no one else has told me about this place. The pulled pork sandwich was delicious as well. They served the sandwich between 2 pieces of white bread and it soaked up the sauce perfectly. I loved the white bread as compared to the typical hamburger bun. Real Southern BBQ is served this way, I am glad I could help you learn something! If you’re looking for excellent BBQ and don’t mind being sexually harassed for your meal, I recommend you head over to Wyatts. The ‘cue is so good you’ll put your foot in it!

All I get is 5 stars?! Wyatts is DABOMB! I’ve heard so many great things about the place that I had to try it for myself… like 5 or 6 times! This is the BEST soul food place EVUH. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed… I’ve had the neck bones, rice with gravy, collards, white beans, yams, mac and cheese, the turkey wings, pork ribs, beef ribs and rib tips — everything was downright delish. I don’t even eat potato salad and THAT was good. You can’t go wrong with Wyatt’s…please believe it. I’ve even tried the lemonade which is off the chain. I have yet to try dessert but I will. When I have guests come to down, rest assured we will be making a stop(if not one or two at Wyatt’s — it’s a must!

Came thru to get some soulfood… even though None Compares to what I make at home. Wyatts…is like goin to a aunts house to see what she cooked. because im too lazy to turn on the stove.
