Such a classic Atlantic City institution! I’ve heard for years how this place supplies the bread for the White House sub shop across the street, but I had never actually set foot inside until just the other day. We were having lunch at Phở Sydney around the corner and wanted to come here for dessert. We got canonolis, some regular and some in the chocolate-dipped shells, and they were so good. We also got some of those Italian red and green leaf cookies, which for some reason we can’t easily find around Philly, and they were as good as anywhere I’ve ever had. And the bread, as expected, looked great. I can see why this place has the reputation I’ve always heard about.

Friendly place to grab some fresh pastries and a cup of coffee. Great variety of biscotti. Woahh their cannolis are out of this world!

I am Old New York, the New York that no longer exists. Dropped in on a whim. Like stepping back in time to when quality, friendliness and integrity meant something. Paula made me the best double expresso I have had in many years, the anistte toast was perfect, simple and delicious. And $ 2.50 for the world’s best double expresso, 2 dollars for anistte toast? The prices are also out of a time machine. And being from the Bronx, I must say that Juan from the Bronx, who gave the place one star and had nasty things to say, does not speak for all New Yorkers. This is my new go-to spot, and Paula is my new best friend, as long as she keeps making those fantastic espressos. I do not rave about places, but this place is almost too good to be true. It’s not a hipster place trying to look old, it is the real deal, some of the last of old Atlantic City culture, oozing quality and good vibes.

Aside from the fresh bread as you enter, there isn’t much to this place. Schnecken was unremarkable. The small linzertorte rasberry filing was flavorful, but the crust was dry without any texture. The younger clerk was naively friendly, and the older clerk was cold and didn’t crack a smile whatsoever.

Great pastries recommended for tourists and locals. A couple of blocks from the Outlet shopping center.

Really good cannoli. Filling was creamy and flavor was great. What I didn’t like was seeing the dude touching all the loaves of bread before finally picking one to purchase. Ew.

Great pastries and coffee for an affordable breakfast or snack while in AC. The chocolate turnovers are delicious! The canoli’s are filled to order with a deliciously creamy filling. It is a short walk from Caesar’s and Trump Plaza and much quicker(and delicious) than waiting in line at the overrated Starbucks on the boardwalk.

I went to Formica Bros. before heading back home to NY because I wanted something sweet for the ride home… well what I got was a sour attitude from one of the ladies working the counter… I kindly asked her if she had any tiramisu… she snapped a quick«No» at me and gave me the oddest, coldest glance I ever received… she could’ve said«no sir… I’m sorry but can I interest you in a cheesecake or cannoli?» Instead I got treated like a piece of garbage. I’m a docile, respectful, professional, and educated Hispanic male in my 50’s and I don’t know if she thought I was going to rob the place or maybe I reminded her of some deadbeat boyfriend from her past but I know one thing… I will not be going back to this dump for my pastries… good riddance Formica Bros…

They serve Seattle’s Best coffee, it’s pretty good and beats Starbucks hands down. My wife had a mocha and she loved it as it was made perfectly. Wasn’t too sweet. I also had the chocolate cake that was dipped in liquor and it was really really good. My wife had some kind of pastry and the whipping was made fresh. All in all a great dessert and coffee place. What this place lacks is a place to sit. Only one other party was there besides us and all the tables and chairs were taken. We drank and ate standing up where they keep the cream and sugar. Not a great place to sit and relax so it’s best to take it to go.

I wished the dessert was as good as they looked. Coffee is blah The bread is amazing. As you walk near the bakery, you smell the bread baking… All the freaking time. The bakery never sleeps. Nothing beats fresh bread anytime of the day. I finished the 2 feet Italian bread all by myself.

Adorable little place. Right across the famous White House Sub Shop. A fine array of Italian baked treats and breads. I like to stop in from time to time for a quick cannoli and cappuccino and then get some bread and maybe cookies if I’m entertaining that eve. The only real con is the size… this is not a place to spend the day leisurely on your Mac or a good book. It’s very small, gets crowded quickly and can be pretty loud. Still, much better than Starbucks.

Their bread is awesome. It’s always perfect. I remember coming here with my grandfather and eating an entire loaf together on the way home. Their desserts are also great. They usually have a bunch of fun flavors of biscotti.

The cutest little bakery ever. They serve settles best coffee which was great. My boyfriend and I got the cinnamon biscotti which was awesome. The breads are so fresh and taste delicious. They only have butter or cream cheese if you wanted something on your bread. We also bought 2 cuts of square pizza to eat later in the day and it was great! If you are sick of going to Starbucks I recommend this place! Just make sure you get biscotti or you are missing out!

I visit my family who lives just a few streets down from this bakery every summer. Upon arrival and before departure… I must always grab a bag of goodies to snack on! Tucked away a few blocks from The Walk, it’s a delicious hidden gem! Although the place is quite small, it’s jam packed with fresh baked goods. I adore their fluffy rolls & sweet pastries. Damn carbs got me again.

Wow. There are so many delicious things in here… freshly based bread and rolls, biscotti, muffins, pastries and other fine looking desserts. I think I gained five pounds from just looking at the carbs lined up in the display cases. The plan was to just grab a coffee and then head to lunch, but then their numerous versions of biscotti grabbed my attention. I guess one couldn’t hurt. Well, one suddenly turned into a whole $ 12 bag full of them… chocolate, macadamia nut, cinnamon sugar, peanut butter, sprinkled, coconut, almond and God knows what else, in conjunction with a medium caramel mocha latte. That being said, at least I knew what I was having for breakfast and lunch for the following few days, and frankly, I was okay with that.

Stopped into Formica’s as we were leaving Unilocal’s Winter Break in AC. Based on other reviews, I was sure to pick up pastries(banana loaf, cheese danish, strawberry croissant) as well as some fresh rolls, baguettes, and a bag of biscotti ends. We devoured the pastries in the car. Moist and flavorful. I was pretty surprised how soft the rolls and baguettes kept, as we ate them probably 9 hours later with dinner. Pretty delicious. The coffee was Seattle’s Best — not bad, not amazing, though solid. Very friendly service! Will definitely come back the next time we’re in AC!

We were in Atlantic City for the Unilocal event this weekend and came across Formica Brothers Bakery Café. It is a quaint little bakery that sells different types of fresh baked breads, pastries, coffees, teas, and hot coco. They have about 3 or 4 tables inside. As we walked in, there were people already at the tables eating bread and drinking coffee/tea. I ordered the Chai tea which was good and I can’t remember what my wife had but whatever it was, she really enjoyed it. So, if you’re ever in the neighborhood, drop in and check them out.

We got here late one afternoon when we had the craving for some White House hoagie bread. It was a little late in the day so the pickings were a little slim, but now that I know the store is here and close to the White House and to the AC Expressway exit/entrance, will definitely keep it in mind. They have a free lot two doors down that you can park at too.

great bakery with a lot of interesting pastries like key lime biscottis(very good), a whole grain french loaf(since locally baked whole grain bread is pretty hard to find in this area I was very appreciative of that), and«tomato pie», which is one of their signature items(read pizza sans cheese). this is mostly a bakery, but there a few tables and they serve espresso drinks, the atmosphere is pleasant and very clean, if you wish to get a coffee and a pastry or tomato pie and hang out. the tomato pie is quite good. Staff are very friendly, professional, and patient with questions.
