Imax Theatre At Tropicana

Only place I will see a movie. Yes expensive but to me worth it. Star Wars great. Seats comfy and sound system great. Concessions standard fare.

Over the Christmas weekend the mad Russian and I wanted to check out the new Star Wars flick and what an experience! If you are going to get the best of what there is to see and hear in a movie, dont waste your time going anywhere else.
First, the seating is very comfortable– they are padded chairs that recline with soft fabric. It seems that no matter how tall the person is in front of you, you can still see. We happened to watch the movie in 3D and a center row seat will immerse you into the film.
The sound system will blow you socks off, as well. it seems to come at you from all sides and is also directional– the characters coming at you will sound that way.
Overall, it’s an outstanding experience in every way. Sure, it’ll cost you a few extra box at the box office, but in the long term scheme of things, you’ll appreciate the «well worth it» feeling you’ll get when the movie is over.

If it was the large format IMAX it would be a solid 5 stars. I’m not complaint though. Just saw the new Bond flick Spectre. Awesome treat to see a great film at a great venue like this.

imax theatre was great, huge screen I was really blow away

Im used to Imax Theaters being huge and over the top. This to me felt like a standard theater. The prices were really high. The overall experience was just ok. Nothing to rant and rave about. There wasnt anyone at the concession stand the entire time i was there. So if i wanted popcorn i would have had to find someone.
Wouldnt go back.

Went to see Jurasic World in IMAX. Theater is in the small side but the chairs were comfortable and the screen is awesome. I was surprised it was only $ 16.00, I am pretty sure it is $ 20 in Philadelphia. The sound and picture quality were amazing. Staff was friendly. The only thing I would complain about is exiting the theater. They should have more than one exit. It took a little while to get out of there.

We watched Jurassic World here in IMAX 3D and it was fantastic. Sound quality as well as picture were outstanding. Pricing was a bit high, but considering it was IMAX & 3D as well as being on the boardwalk, it was expected. Concessions were also high, but what isn’t on the boardwalk?

Awesome theater. Only one we have in AC and it’s not too expensive, clean and always has new movies.

This IMAX is the real deal. Unfortunately, so many other ‘IMAX’ theaters are the small screen format found at AMC and others. While that’s great and all, you’re not getting the gigantic IMAX screen for 70 mm format film. This theater is worth the extra money, because of that.
I believe they still project in 70 mm which is huge in comparison to a regular cinema, even the new, digital IMAX’s you see in your local theatre.
So many large IMAX theaters are shutting down, enjoy this one while it lasts!

I hate paying IMAX theater prices but this one was worth it just because. It was hubby’s b’day weekend so we wanted to do everything. We saw Gravity 3D and it was actually a decent movie. The trailer makes the movie weak so at times, it’s not really good to judge movies by it. But we forgot about taking advantage of the dinner+movie deal (by Broadway Burger Bar). You have to purchase the tickets from them. When we bought the movie tickets from IMAX, we couldn’t return them (well, duh, lol), it was too late. But the movie experience was really cool. After that, we played Roulette before we had to catch our bus (which was leaving at 3:10) and the movie finished at 2:45, lol. We won $ 300 bucks, cashed it in and ran to the bus terminal.
We made the bus, too. Don’t you just love the good luck and adrenaline rush, :)

Came to catch Iron Man 3 while I was out here. Great experience in Imax/​3D!
Comfy seats, and it wasn’t so crowded. Can’t wait to try another action film in Imax… maybe Fast n Furious 6! that should be a good one.

We love coming here to watch any of the blockbuster, action/​3d movies that come out.
Recently we came to see Spiderman. Movie was amazing, and it’s great having a nice large reclining seat, with stadium seating, and a huge movie screen… makes the perfect IMAX experience.
The two things i dislike.1) the movie theater is located in the Tropicana Casino… not a fan of the place… and 2) i wish they would clean the floors/​theater better between screenings… the floors always seem to have soda and popcorn on them, and that just does not give you any comfort, while you sit there for 2 – 3 hours.
Having said that… it is our go to theater (2 hours away) for 3d/​action movies!

We enter the dome of the IMAX, scurrying into our seats. Deep exhales — at last! The Hobbit, in IMAX, a once in a lifetime experience. A journey that will be revered until the end of time, like the blazing tail of a Phoenix soaring through the midnight sky. A constellation that will connect the dots of your very soul. The incredible depth of the IMAX 3D screen can be compared to that of the deepest hole on the ocean floor. The mass of the IMAX screen can be seen from other galaxies, outside of the center of our existence. Your fond memories of classic cinema will be obliterated into the abyss when you witness The Hobbit, The Battle of the 5 Armies, in IMAX. If you don’t go and see it, the path your life may take will only lead down the road of misfortunate and despair.
