Yes, I’m reviewing a restaurant in a casino that will close its doors for good in less than a month. But if you happen to be in the area and want some noodles — hey! — maybe you’ll find this useful. If you’re here, you’re on the north end of the boardwalk. I’ve tried one other noodle spot in the area — Yuboku at Revel, right next door — and it was not good. Like, «no second chances» not good. Royal Noodle House, while not exactly«royal» in quality, is at least passable. This restaurant is tucked away in an odd little area behind a small room of Asian table games on the casino floor. What makes it even more odd is that towards the back of the restaurant are the restrooms… apparently for the entire casino’s use, because I almost felt like I was at Penn Station or Port Authority late at night waiting for my train/bus, watching people cross through. But anyways, to the food: I tried their fried dumplings and was less than impressed. Hey, I prefer Flushing food options when it comes to that. We also had the Beef Noodle Soup(there are two kinds; we got the one on the left side of the menu). The noodles and the broth were both decent, but the beef was very tasty. I could see myself returning here if I need a noodle fix, but I could just as easily see myself holding off until I got home to get something better.

A secret. Hidden behind the Asian Game room, you will find this really small counter. Getting a seat is quite difficult so the wait can be long. Once inside and seated, you will get fast service, not necessarily friendly. Of all the Asian noodle places in AC, this one is at the bottom of my list. The small size and the taste are my main reasons. However, it’s not bad. Just not great like the other places.

This place is a little hard to find since its really hidden. It took me awhile to find but I’m glad I finally did since I was in the mood for Asian food. I got to try a few dishes like the pork dumplings, fried rice, chicken tso and the spare ribs. I enjoyed everything except the dumplings which were not my fav. and only ate one. This place is not big and people are in and out since they seem to only come in for a fast bite between gambling. The service was good and fast.

Wow. I do not get why there is all of this hate. The wait was only 15 minutes on a winter Saturday night. Located conveniently next to baccarat and the pai gow room you feel like you are in a cleaner Macau. It is very casual in here loaded with tired gamblers. Service was a bit slow to come around to take our orders, but the food came out quickly. I had the seafood pan fried noodles and my Asian buddy had the short ribs. For $ 17 I felt like I was in NYC, but it was worth every penny. I was full and the meal was very good. There was a generous amount of steamed scallops, shrimp, and squid. The short ribs were very good as well. I enjoyed the large pot of tea that came with dinner. I am glad it was placed on the table so you didn’t have to order each time you wanted more. If you stay away from the specials you can eat here affordable. Also, use your total rewards card. The points add up and you can get money off.

Its a casino restaurant. Food is actually pretty legit, but you don’t get a lot and its expensive. Service is slow. but again its a casino restaurant. enough said.

It’s late at night, or at least you think it’s late at night because you’ve spent the day at the tables working hard at betting $ 5 hands. Your tired, in a daze, hungry. You don’t want to wander too far searching for food as if you were on a quest for the holy grail, you just want to grab some grub so you can continue your hot streak at… War, of all things. But you’re also the kind of person who doesn’t just want chicken tenders or a burger. Royal noodle house provides the taste of exotic asia right there in the Showboat. If you blink twice, you might miss it. It reminds me of the Chinese restaurants that you find in the ghetto. Small, dirty and with a bathroom right there next to all the tables. Well, the food is decent. I ordered some roasted duck and that junx was pretty good. The sauce was not too salty, but the cook didn’t seem to have done a good job with separating the bones from the meat. But it still hit the spot. The vegetable and noodle soup were decent. I don’t think this place will make the Zagat or Diners Drive Ins and Dives, but it is that unappreciated savior of hungry stomachs all over the Showboat casino. It’s fast, cheap and good to eat. I must warn you though; You may have weird stomach rumblings the next day and might spend a few extra minutes in the bathroom«feeding the fish.»

Royal Noodle House is located inside the Showboat Casino Hotel. It’s adjacent to the Asian table games area and is enclosed inside four walls, not viewable from the tables. I had to actually ask where it was. When we found it, we noticed its smallishness with about 12 to 15 seats at the bar and about 10 to 12 small tables. We were handed a menu which I noticed was extremely limited. As I recall, it might have only had two pages. The only dish on the menu that was meant to be shared family-style was the General Tso’s Chicken which we ordered. We also ordered a wonton and beef stew noodle soup and the Yang Chow Fried Rice. We had originally asked for the Chinese Sausage Fried Rice but the waitress said it wasn’t available. Therefore, my review is based only on these three dishes. The General Tso’s Chicken was cut up in huge white meat chunks. Dark meat is usually the way it’s made, so a minus here. The sauce was neither spicy nor tangy. The beef stew portion of our noodle soup was a-okay, however the wonton’s were a bit big but the skins were soggy from sitting around too long. There was also a noticeable lack of shrimp in the wonton. The soup was only okay. The fried rice could have been much better, not much flavor here, just standard peas, carrots and eggs, with very little meat. I also took the time to look at our neighbors’ dishes and although I didn’t try anything, their plates didn’t have any eye appeal. One of my neighbors was having the beef chow fun. Although the service was okay, I couldn’t say that I enjoyed the quality of the food.

Wild mushroom dumplings are yummy, phở is ok for meat and the broth was a little bland: the beef is very tender & beef balls are very good though $ 15.00 a Bowl is pretty high. The hard gow was cooked perfect I would try this place again. Service was excellent. It is inside the Showboat Hotel

I went here with a small group for a quick bite to eat. I had never noticed the restaurant right on the casino floor before, but was pleasantly surprised to find that not only was the location convenient(hey, who wants to step away from the tables for too long, right?) AND the food was pretty good. I am a big fan of the noodle houses in Chinatown, so I had fun looking through the limited but diverse menu. Making noodle soup is not rocket science by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s hard to find outside of Chinatown. The food is solid(we loved the shortribs), but the restaurant itself is very small and gets very loud. While there are many more high-end Asian restaurants throughout the city, this is a great stop if you want to grab a quick bite while in or near Showboat.

Well, first time here the food was good. I convinced my mom to go back(she’s not a big fan of the type of food overall). Well, we got the dumpling soup, and it came with a floating bug in it. The waitress apologized, and offered to nicely take it off our bill but nothing else. Ruined my chances of ever convincing her to go to another noodle house again :(

The Vietnamese beef soup is excellent, served with fresh thai basil, bean sprouts, and flavorful hot pepper. Warning, it is very spicy. The other soups are ok but I was not impressed with the Chinese dishes. What makes this place all the better is that all other food options in Showboat are horrible. Ambiance is like the back of a kitchen, so just put your head down and slurp up the delicious soup.

Been there twice already, a noodle house is always a staple in AC. Located right by your favorite blackjack tables. Nothing outta the ball park, but this place is good for refueling. Good noodle houses? try the ones in Caesars or Borgata ;)

The food at Royal Noodle House is actually better than average which is kind of surprising as it’s a total dump. I’m talking dirty tables and chicken bones on the floor kind of dump. Also, you have to walk through the smokey gross Asian gaming pit to get there. But in a pinch, hungry and in a hurry, I might go back.

Walking around«The Mardi Gras Casino»(Showboat, The House of Blues) I couldn’t really find anything to do – then, randomly, at the rear of «The Baccarat Pit» I saw some steam coming up from something and some guy with a chef’s hat walking around, I couldn’t really smell any food but I had my hopes up – I asked a security guard what was back there and she said«some Asian food place.» Sounds perfect! This place is kind-of hidden, even though there are two big entrances to it, both entrances are sort of obscure and out-of-the-way. But the food selection and quality was just okay — the selection was Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese, it attempts to be «authentic» and for Atlantic City it’s probably pretty good. I ordered the Seafood Stuffed Fried Crab Legs with Pineapple-Ginger Sauce, the Kimchi, and the House Noodle Soup with Pork Wonton and Beef Brisket and Fishballs… Decently priced, decent flavors. As I sat there, quietly minding my own business, two beautiful girls struck up a conversation with me. «Are you like a rock star or a prince or something?» «I’m sorry, what?» «You just seem so confident and content.» «Because I’m drunk, have a full belly, and there’s a beautiful tune in my heart.» «Aw, that’s sweet, do you know what to do after this?»
