Places like these make me happy. Unexpensive, homestyle cooked delicious food. What I loved the most was watching the chef throwing in fresh ingredients into the blender, and doing it all to order. I know that this is only possible in mom and pop places since they usually only have 3,4 to 10 tables, but it so awesome to watch… You feel at home. The mixed ceviche was if not the best, one of the best my girlfriend and I have ever had. Perfect acidity, heat and freshness of the seafood. Afterword we both had thte loma saltado which was great, but e portion was hugeee and could not finish. Humbling place with great food.

I flew in on a whim because of the reviews of this place. I did not expect much. Maybe good food and a new experience. I really wanted to feel a Ka-Pow moment. trying a new food from a culture I was not previously acquainted with, is a true hobby of mine. I also happen to enjoy, «holes in the wall.» Ok… yikes, I do not understand how my experience was so much in the opposite direction than the previous Unilocalers on Señor Limon. Place needs a good cleaning. There is no excuse, ever for a customer to notice this aspect of a restaurant. The Ceviche was interesting, a generous portion, however the taste became over powering. I think Too many raw onions was the culprit. For an entrée I asked the waitress whatever she suggests as I wanted to taste true Peruvian Food. The entrée consisted of Over cooked meat, onions and a huge side of white rice. I was at best meh. Nothing of this dish Unilocal me about Peru. It basically was a Pepper Steak level with Onions. The meat was over the top over cooked, dry and tasteless. I always root for the little business owner, especially new arrivals to the US. Should I not write about my experience in a truthful manner? Should I not write a review? No, I feel it would do a disservice to the true reason why this medium even exists. That is even when it bothers the reviewer, the reviewer has the responsibility to be truthful and not hedge. Even when honesty doesn’t feel very nice. Fatty says… swing and miss.

My Peruvian girlfriend and I tried this place out since she just had to try Peruvian! Place opend at noon after arriving at 11. She made us wait in the area until they opened, but it ended up being worth it! I had the bister a Lo pobre and my girlfriend had the seco d Carne. It wasn’t just a restaurant meal, it felt like a home cooked meal. My girlfriend grew up in Peru and she said the food was very authentic. Our of all the restaurants we ate at while in Atlantic City, this was the best and cheapest. We will be coming back here again during out next AC trips! :)

If I never eat ceviche again, it will be because Señor Limon closed up shop after ruining me for all other renditions of marinated fish. Señor Limon’s ceviche is so delicious, fresh, large, and inexpensive, I had to compliment fellow Unilocaler Mark N. for finding this place before I even left! Huge chunks of fish, shrimp, calamari, and squid were so brightly and wonderfully marinated in lemon, hot pepper, and vinegar. It was an unreal combination of some of the freshest seafood I’ve ever tasted. This place is worth driving up and down Fairmount looking for a parking spot for the ceviche alone. I also tried the Papa a la Huancaina and was surprised at how much I enjoyed it! Really flavorful and satisfying despite its simplicity. The owners were very sweet and welcoming and made me feel at home, even though I was there by myself. The menu runs the typical gamut of Italian/hoagies/fried foods, but their authentic Peruvian dishes all sound so delicious, I know I’ll be back to try more. I’ll probably stick with takeout in the future, since Señor’s isn’t really set up for dining in. They also accept credit cards, which is pretty rare for a little mom & pop spot like this.

so happy to find a Peruvian place with good and cheap CEVICHE!!! Great and economical Peruvian restaurant and pizzeria which also serves the Jersey staples of hot and cold subs, various Italianesque pastas, salads. But the keynote here is that this is, methinks, the only Peruvian restaurant in south Jersey, run by a very friendly Peruvian couple with no staff, this is a fairly simple but cozy place. A big selection of authentic Peruvian dishes, i had the ceviche mixto which is a huge serving of excellent ceviche with boiled potato and sweet potato on the side for $ 12, also tried the delicious Papa a la Huancaina which is boiled potato with a very distinctive spicy yellow traditional Peruvian sauce. Pollo Milanesa is good, a very large portion of chicken breast lightly fried in a seasoned breading, get it with the spicy green«aji», comes with a large portion of rice and a salad or fries.(Potatoes by the way, were first cultivated in Peru, where there are hundreds of varieties so one could say that Peruvians basically invented the potato, hence it plays a big role in the Peruvian cuisine from the mountainous parts of the country). if you have never had Peruvian soda before, you need to get a can of Inka Cola with your meal, good stuff which despite the name does not really taste like a «cola». they have a lot of seafood choices, some chifa options like arroz chaufa(chifa is a distinctive hybrid of Chinese food with Peruvian food created by Chinese immigrants to Peru, it also exists in Ecuador), lomo saltado, tallarin verde con bistek(steak with a pesto spaghetti), pollo a la brasa(Peruvian style rotisserie chicken), flan, lots of other Peruvian stuff. Since the menu is quite large and has plenty of both Peruvian and Italian/New Jerseyesque cuisine options to choose from, this is a good choice for a group as everyone will likely find something they like. No liquor license but the owners told me it is OK to bring your own beer and wine in moderate quantities.(disclaimer: Although I have not been to Peru, have been to Ecuador, which also has ceviche and chifa food, so I am somewhat familiar with what«authentic» means in this case. Have also tried a lot of Peruvian restaurants in California.)

This place is great, a little mom and pop restaurant worth going out of your way for. Had the papas huancaina as an appetizer. They were delicious! We had the loma saltado and beef milanesa as entrees! Both were excellent but the milanesa was unbelievable! Don’t miss this place! Be sure to read my other reviews for some excellent restaurants.
