Best pizza in the area. My go to place for years. Not sure why ratings aren’t higher, especially since there are about a dozen other places within a few miles, with higher ratings, while Pomodoro’s pizza is better than every one of them.

We order from here often. Service is great. Food is awesome. Glad to have found a good pizza/italian place in the area!

Should be embarrassed to call this NJ pizza. There’s better frozen pizza out there. We usually order locally however wife was at Food-town and decided to grab a quick pizza as we’ve never eaten there. Big Mistake!

Do not waste your money. Food is terrible and service is worse. You are better off at Burger King or McDonalds.

Terrible service !!! We order two pizzas. They brought to us pizza after we ate it hapf way some guy who is not even a owner came over and start yelling that we ate somebody else pizza ! Hello they brought pizza to our table when you have three hungry kids you don’t think if they gave you the right pizza ! He was so rude telling other costumers that we took someone else pizza. NOT only that but we order white pizza we got plain. Terrible service !!! Never again they do not even deserve one star

I’m new to this area, basically. I’ve tried several small businesses and this has been the best so far. Everyone is nice and it doesn’t take a long time to get your order. A fan of their subs but the hubby loves the wraps. A must stop along the 36 for a quick delish meal.

I was on vacation in the area on 5−6−15 and patronized this place for a late lunch & dinner. Ordered their 12″ cheese steak with mozzarella cheese. Order came out to me which was two separate 6″ breads with each end of the bread cut off. Upon going to register to pay, the Asian worker tried to charge me $ 1 more because I wanted mozzarella cheese. The menu doesn’t state what cheese the sandwich comes with or that there was an extra charge for my choice. He finally waived the $ 1 extra charge. I left and came back for dinner around 9pm choosing a medium calzone. I stopped in there today 5−7−15 to just order one 6″ sandwich, and the same guy from day before, who claims to be the manager took my order again, and tried to charge me today an extra $ 0.50 for mozzarella cheese. It’s apparent this guy makes up his own prices to benefit himself in the pocket. This is a pizza place, which has tons of mozzarella on hand for their pizzas and being charged extra for mozzarella cheese is unheard of! I canceled my order, and upon doing so, it was thrown at me me that I had the gall to stop in so late the night before to order dinner(it was 9pm). I even asked the owner that night if it was ok to sit down to eat & I was told it was fine. This guy had the balls to go off on me with people in the establishment, so I gave him a few good words back. I will contact one of the two owners to see what they have to say. Steer clear of this unprofessional establishment which knows nothing or cares nothing about customer service. I WOULDNEVERGOBACKORRECOMMENDTHISPLACETOANYONE!

Ordered a pepperoni pizza delivered. Delivery was fast for a weekend. Pizza was bland. Pepperoni didn’t have much flavor. Pizza crust was not good. Not a great pizza.

The food at Pomodoro is excellent ! My only problem is that I have ordered for delivery three times so far. And they have yet to get my order correct. A place with food this good needs to get something simple like that correct come on guys

They make a great Sicilian pretty good prices and good sandwiches and wraps they aren’t chintzy with the serving size either. Fast delivery, don’t expect Peter Lugar’s but for pizzeria they keep it simple and you can’t ask more than that. Better than Domino’s or Pizza Hut any day.

These people are rude, intolerant of each other and their customers, unprofessional, and lack complete knowledge, respect and care of food. I’ve lived in the area for years and I order take-out more times than I’d like to admit. I estimate I’d order from Pomodoro about 3−4X per week on average and, knowing their limitations, would stick to the same menu items, their salmon dinner, at $ 20 a pop. It was after my most recent experience that I’ve decided to write this review after so many years of loyal patronage. If you get the salmon with the sauce on the side, it is decent quality. ANYATTEMPTSTOMODIFYTHEMOSTSIMPLEDISHSTUMPTHEORDERTAKERSTHOUGH. For example, I prefer spinach steamed as opposed to sautéed in oil to save calories, and one time an order-taker told me that«we don’t have that capability.» This last time I just didn’t feel like salmon. I ordered their pan seared shrimp and scallop dinner. Now, even if it were the most awful quality seafood prepared by inexperienced cooks, the fish would not have arrived this way. Shrimp so shriveled up, rubbery and dry that there is no doubt, to me, they were microwaved. The scallops, equally shriveled up, showed no evidence of any searing, and the taste completely rancid. The broccoli raab, complete slop. I don’t care if you sauté broccoli raab beyond its death, there are still stems. This was definitely either canned or frozen broccoli raab. Price for this dish, $ 20. I don’t like to do this but I had to call, the dinner was not only inedible, but I feared I’d get sick. Now the driver had already returned once because he forgot the soda, A VERYCOMMONOCCURRENCE w/Pomodoro, happens more often than not. Now the owner, who was so bothered by how I described the dish he had to see it to «educate» his chef’s, sent the driver to pick it up. When the driver showed up again he was yelling/crying outside the house because he was being reprimanded at work for this. Meanwhile, NONEOFTHISWASHISFAULT. There was no soda on the ticket — probably because the female order-taker was too busy saying«s’at it? S’at it?» Nor did he cook the food. But he did get loud. I was now neck deep into a nighmare’ish evening caused by a snowball effect of ineptitude. I was so enraged I threw on my shoes to go down there, I felt horrible for this kid. My boyfriend stopped me. I called instead and spoke with the owner again. The owner refused to acknowledge what I was saying about the driver, and just continued to talk about why he needed the entrée back. Meanwhile, now I have nothing to eat and instead I am sick to my stomach because my neighbors were put off by the driver yelling. When I inquired about a refund he refused saying he’d offer me a credit. I told him I wasn’t really interested in ordering from them again. In addition, it was not about the sole entrée anymore, his restaurant managed to ruin my entire night, not just my dinner. Why would I want to continue to pay for their idiocy? I literally once ordered cantaloni and instead got a cannoli, paid $ 16 for that cannoli though! And forget it — if you want a tartufo, you’ll get tiramisu every time. I said that I was particularly upset considering how often I order from him — which he knows. He said he would call me back to discuss it. He did not call me back. I was next door the next day, I stopped in to try and find the delivery guy to give him more money. I did. I left a message for the owner to call me. He did not. Finally, my boyfriend wanted pizza Friday(a week later). I said«whatever, just call Pomodoro Rosso and use my credit.» I left one final message for a call. He did not call me. But they did forget the soda that night again, just for good measure. There are A LOT of pizza places in the area; on 1st Avenue in Atlantic Highlands and in the Pathmark Shopping Center up Route 36 for example. Take your pick, just don’t take your business here. Pomodoro’s food and service is terrible, and, after seeing that seafood, God only knows what’s growing in their walk-in’s.

Just moved to the area and was looking for a local place to grab some pizza and pasta. This place definitely hits the spot. A huge selection and great take out menu. The pizza is great and the pasta dishes are tasty with generous portions. They have free wifi if you need to get some work done. The staff is young but helpful and the owner Joe ensures that your meal is great. Pomodoro will be one of our families new go to for great food.
