Sissy’s At the Harbor

LOVE this place. Adorable. Great service and atmosphere. I come here for breakfast a few times a month, great place to have some food before catching the boat into NYC. Literally everything is great.

The food can be hit or miss as well as the service. The coffee and juices are good but sometimes they mess up the good or it just isn’t that great. They have a great view of the marina and great outdoor season for the warmer months. If you like good corn beef hash do not get it here because I’m pretty sure they do it out of a can or something. I’ll go there every now and again but you can get better food in Atlantic highlands elsewhere for the same price

Looking for diner food, prices, quantity with a nice view of the water. Come here. Open at 5 a.m. — 8 p.m., 7 days a week, except winter, 5 a.m. — 4 p.m.

Good reliable breakfast and lunch place. Sometimes very crowded and service suffers. However, worth the wait for views of the bay and large mason jars of your favorite beverage.

Had breakfast at Sissy’s yesterday. It was a beautiful morning to sit on the deck with a beautiful view of the harbor. Down hill from there. They were not busy and no problem selecting a table. Ordered coffee with milk, water, 2 scrambled eggs with home fries, corn beef hash, and rye toast. Coffee came with half & half and then she disappeared but the coffee was hot and very good. The sweetener was kepted in her pocket & I had to ask for it. I had to ask for water 3 times to take my medication before she finally brought it. Eggs and toast (already buttered) were good but the home fries were greasy and the corn beef hash was right out of the can and barely warm. If your going to use canned corn beef hash at least crisp it! And I don’t even know what brand of ketsup they served but it was horrible… have they heard of Heinz? I will NEVER go back nor recommend them. If they cannot serve a good breakfast I can’t image what they would do to lunch/​dinner.

Excellent little spot and the view from the covered deck (with fans). Not many places you can eat a good meal for under $ 15 a person and be happy! Loved it and will be back from Both Jersey!

A fairly typical Jersey Shore dining spot, with a Great view! Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Large portions. Food is okay. Nothing special. The food here is great in concept, but could use a chef’s touch more than a short order cook’s spatula. With a little extra effort this place could be amazing.
Outside dining is a real plus here, especially if you happen to be biking along the Henry Hudson/​Bayshore rail trail, and you want to stop for breakfast or lunch. The trail passes by about 100 yards away. Sissy’s is also dog-​friendly, so you can sit outside with your best friend, have a bite, and enjoy the nice water views.
The menu here offers cheese steaks, subs, salads, grilled cheese, etc. I’m sure you can get the classic NJ porkroll egg & cheese on a roll for breakfast too. My grilled chicken salad was very large, and although it wasn’t bad, it really didn’t have too much flavor beyond that which the balsamic vinaigrette dressing provided. A little seasoning or char-​broiling on the grilled chicken would have gone a long way here. And shredded cheddar which clearly came right out of the bag? Really? I noticed my friends happily ate their (huge) roast beef & cheesesteak subs, but I also didn’t really hear anyone comment about how delicious they were. Solid three stars, but more for the view, the friendly service, and the quantity, than the quality.

Reliable, tasty, fast and affordable. Staff is very friendly. Everything you would want in your neighborhood diner, plus a great view!

I really like Sissy’s. We like to sit outside and enjoy the marina and boats. Don’t expect a gourmet breakfast. Instead the staff is friendly and the food is basic, but tasty. We have become once a week regulars here.

What can I say? The food here is great, beyond my expectations. It’s like waking up in the morning and having your mom make you the best breakfast you’ve ever had. The staff is without peer. It’s very hard to find a place like this; perfection! It’s not your typical place that does a good job and satisfies. This is a place that you brag about.

I had high hopes for this place despite what the other Unilocalers have said, but the truth is, they were right. Decent and fast service, but the food was marginal at best. I had the healthy omelet with fruit. The plate consisted of a large portion of fruit and good-​sized omelet with a single piece of toast. The issue was all of the juice from the fruit ran into the omelet and changed the flavor if the omelet. The server acknowledged the issue and offered to correct it, but I declined and picked around for the spinach and mushrooms. My husband had eggs, home fries, and bacon, all of which was marginal at best.
This place has so much potential… Key location, decent service, good coffee… really, it just needs some minor tweaking.

Semi decent spot to hang and fill up your tummy. Food is ok. Not to die for or from… Staff is super nice and welcoming even though some customers just walk in buy a coffee and wait for the Seastreak ferry… I wish they matched the quality of food and service to the quality of the location and ambiance. Then this could be a spot where everyone wanted to come early and devour a good breakfast before they get on with their early commute… Still, it is what you make out of it and still a warm place to hang out for a cup of joe…

Probably one of the only waterfront restaurants with such great prices. Sandwiches are HUGE. You will never leave hungry. Diner food, diner prices, awesome view of Atlantic Highlands Harbor. A great place to hang out for breakfast or lunch. Just don’t count on them for dinner, as even their front door says only open «sometimes» in the evening.
