In the middle of the night the exhaust on our rv broke while traveling cross country. We waited at Mikes shop and he arrived about 20 minutes before his normal opening time. Within a few minutes our vehicle was in a bay being worked on. The repair took about an hour and the price was extremely fair. I highly recommend his services.

Awesome guy to work with! I drove from Des Moines to have him work on my car– trustworthiness and his super reasonable labor fees make the drive totally worth it. Would recommend to anyone. Very honest and works around your schedule!

Middle of the night or middle of no where breakdown? This is your guy! Honest, Knowledgeable, Reliable! I broke down on a Sunday, that also happened to be father’s day 2014 on our way from Chicago to Denver. We blew an alternator that had just been replaced before we left Chicago. We found ourselves in Atlantic after trying to limp to a Hertz car rental in Atlantic(whose answering machine answers, while they business has been gone almost 2 years). No Hertz in Atlantic. I opened Google maps for auto repair. Only a handful popped up. Most did not answer a few did but explained they don’t work on Sunday. However, they all told me who to call. Mike Hansen(owner of The Shop). He picked me up at the hotel we hitched to and took me to the car to connect a portable battery so I could drive it to his shop rather than spend on a tow. Mike is great and he really knows his stuff. The lady at the hotel warned me not to offer him beer, he does not drink. He also pre-warned me that he does not like babysitters while he works. Understandable. If you know your stuff about auto repair, as I do, and you aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty, you will probably get along great. NOTE: There also happens to be another person with the same last name working another shop in town and a whole lot less helpful. The shop you want to avoid, if you can, is Hansen Interstate Repair just off the highway. I want to be clear this is NOT the right Hansen. That Hansen did answer the phone when I first called around and explained that he had a tow truck but would not be available until after dinner when I called him around noon. I did not feel I was a priority and pondered why he even answered his phone. I had the feeling he was hoping for a bigger fish(more expensive or further tow). Go to The Shop, he charged me half of what I felt would have been fair. His business card says«An honest day’s work for an honest day’s pay». Well said. Best of Luck Mike! My family and I wish you well! Angelo!
