Traveling eastbound on I-69 in Lapeer County, this is the last public rest area before encountering the Canadian border at Port Huron. Unlike many of the original rest areas along interstate highways in the Midwest, this location is nestled up and away from the traffic as it passes by, providing a restful intermission from long distance travel. This rest area has one of the older style buildings in the state. Amenities include a pay phone, an outside spigot for water, rest room facilities inside the main building, and refreshments in a little outside vending area. The passenger vehicle parking area is ample, the truck and RV side not so much. Like most of the rest areas in Michigan, this facility is always well-maintained and is open 24 hours /7 days a week.
