We stopped in for a quick sandwich after a long day. The service was friendly, like usual and the food came quickly. Everything was fresh and tasted great. Servings were large and we were barely able to finish. Even so, we couldn’t resist the chocolate cake for dessert. What can I say,. We have ate here for years and never had a bad experience yet.

We knew nothing about this property and called while we were on the road the evening of Sunday 7 September 2014 with a couple basic questions about cost and mold, as my wife has a sensitivity. The woman answering the phone could not have been more rude. In response to our questions, she said we are a functioning 160 year old hotel. You need to look for a Motel 6 and abruptly hung up the phone. My wife and I looked at each other in disbelief as we listened to the dial tone and remarked the hospitality industry may not be a good fit for this person’s attitude. Given the defensive response, we could only conclude there may be a mold problem and didn’t bother to stop. We also concluded this property does not need to attract new business…

Heard a lot of good things about the food here. My wife and I were not disappointed. We both had the Black and Blue Salad. FABULOUS! Definitely worth the price, a lot of food for the $. Would recommend to anyone and will definitely go back.

The owners have poured a ton of money into what was a dilapidated hotel from the 1800’s. The rooms were sleeping chambers only and they have converted them into very comfortable rooms with bathrooms/showers. A freak wind-storm and lack of care on the back wall of the hotel caused the wall to collapse this May but the they are intending on getting it fixed to add another 10 rooms to their current 15. Yes its a little weird to stay at a place with a wall that fell into the parking lot, but as far as I’m concerned its part of the charm of our yearly visit to this VERY rural town. We had dinner on Saturday night and the prime rib with loads of Au Jus was quite good. Get their brownie dessert! Oh and the owners are super-friendly. I really wish them the best of luck in making the hotel a success. It is definitely their passion.
