I wanted to love this place, based on the reviews, the fact that it’s so close to my house, and that East Side Pockets is quite a drive for me. My husband ordered the chicken shawarma wrap and I ordered the grilled chicken wrap. The flavor of the chicken was decent, but they had to «warm it up» as opposed to making it fresh on a grill. The veggies were ok, but also not as fresh as I’d prefer. What I did like was the garlic crème sauce they use… that was different but tasty. We also grabbed a treat on the way out the door. My hubby got a macaroon, which he said was too crunchy, but I actually liked it. I had a baklava, which was DELICIOUS! It was full of the nut and honey mixture… I’d go back here for that alone. Alas, the service was less to be desired. The woman«working» the counter didn’t acknowledge us nor was she eager to answer any questions. Which is a shame, there are so many items to try, but I didn’t know what they were. The gentleman making our wraps also seemed hurried, but there was no one in the store. Oh well, back to ESP for me

An acquaintance of ours recommended this place. She brought some Namoura to share. Sooooo good. Get the Namoura dessert. It’s delicious and enough to share. They sell 1 for $ 1 or a small tray for $ 5.99 its a bargain. Namoura is a dessert made of semolina, honey, almonds and butter. So I went myself and got that and the Beef Shawarma. Which was also delicious and inexpensive.

I had the chicken shawarma wrap and it was so delicious and flavorful. Also got six falafel balls and six little baklava pieces for a little over 11 bucks. So happy I don’t have to go through the hassle of thayer st. to get my middle eastern fix.

Just had the falafel wrap after reading other reviews. Let’s just say it lived up to the expectation. The only thing missing is a yogurt sauce, but all of the fresh and pickled veggies added a lot of amazing flavor and texture.

A middle eastern grocery store with a deli. Sounds intriguing. Originally my friend and I planned on eating there, but while there are a few tables along the window, the atmosphere does not lend itself to dining in. We were there on a Sunday. They have limited hours and it seems limited clientele on Sundays(except for regulars who were ordering platters to go), which meant that things took a while. It took over 30 minutes for us to be receive our sandwiches, but the reason for this was that they made everything from scratch. While we waited we perused the shelves for interesting items and left with not only sandwiches but also some great hummus & pita bread, desserts, and treats. When we got home and took our first bite into the sandwiches(mine chicken shawarma, my friend’s falafel) we forgot all about the long wait. They were amazing.

If you have a hankering for a good Falafel, look no further! Came to Baba Ghannooj on recommendation of a self proclaimed Falafel Aficionado and was not disappointed! Very good falafel and assortment of baklava.

Hands down the best falafel wrap I’ve ever had. The two ladies that own this place also make all of the food fresh onsite. Amazing food, awesome service!

Went this weekend and am thrilled to have finally found a middle eastern grocery/deli that meets muster. The grapeleaves were the closest I’ve found to my lebanese grandfathers. The syrian bread was fresh. The selection was great. Hummos and tabouleh, best I’ve had in ages. And my judge of any mid east bakery– The spinach pies were perfectly seasoned. Recommend highly.

Absolutely stunned to find this place in Attleboro. This is the best falafel and shawarma I’ve ever had and I’ve been to Israel. The guy making the sandwiches is super friendly as well. Edit: haven’t gone here in a while as I’m now gluten free but the last few experiences I had weren’t as pleasant as before. Food was still excellent but the guy working seemed irritated and unpleasant towards me for some odd reason.

I love Baba Ghannooj. Deadly-good falafel wraps, and morsels that are hard to find elsewhere, like prepared dandelion greens. I’m also a pita snob, so I’m glad their grocery section has the giant, really fresh pitas that elude me everywhere else. Oh, and you’ll want to get their frozen falafels if you like making that sort of thing at home.

So very excited about this place! Excellent falafel wraps and homemade pita chips and hummus. I always end up buying Syrian string cheese with caraway seeds, soooo good! My go-to spot for my Middle East fix!

I came onto Unilocal yesterday looking for delicious falafel close by and was so happy to find Baba Ghannooj. I could smell deliciousness as soon as I walked in. The store staff/owners(?) were very friendly and helpful. I got a falafel wrap and watching my sandwich be made was like watching an artist create art. Like watching a sushi chef. Everything was fresh and delightful. They have a store as well as deli. They will make platters with notice for events. I tried some baked treats also and wish I had more. I will definitely become a regular customer.

The beef shawarma wrap was delicious. Everything about it was perfection. Fresh, herby, and perfectly wrapped. The hummus was consumed within minutes and by everyone that came over that night… including the kids.

This is a new very nice Middle Eastern/Mediterranean deli on Route 1. The family that runs it is Syrian, and it is obvious that they put a lot of care and attention into the food that they make. Homemade baklava, mana’eesh(za’atar pizzas), lahmajeen(meat pizzas), fatayer(spinach pie) all are of the best quality and very well priced. They make chicken and meat shawarma sandwiches and a really nice falafel wrap that comes with pink turnip pickles that are so rare in these parts. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Their fifth star comes from the genuinely great selection of Middle Eastern groceries that they’ve got. Comparable to places like Sonia’s and the shop on Mineral Spring, but noticeably better prices. It’s always great to have more options to buy Middle Eastern groceries, and particularly such a well-priced one. Try this place when you’re in the area, and if you do a lot of Middle Eastern cooking, do consider them for special ingredients.

Love Mediterranean and middle eastern food. Stopped in for lunch today with my mom and we both got sandwiches. They were both delicious and very fresh. The chicken shawarma is what she got and I ordered the beef kabob. I would recommend both! Great ingredients and sauces and then the sandwich was grilled. It was bigger than I expected and very tasty. They have other salads and desserts and were nice enough to let us try some of them prior to the order. I will definitely go back and try the beef shawarma and even got some hot pepper in the market area offered.
