I love this place and in only giving it one star shy of perfect because it keeps changing hands! I think it’s changed owners 3 times this year and as a result sometimes they aren’t open when they say they are. The food though is awesome! I have had a hot pot here and it’s tasty full of fresh veggies to top it off. The pad Thai is also really good! Their portions are great and prices are very affordable. It’s off the beaten path but worth it just call ahead to be sure they’re open :)

Amazing yellow curry. I have ordered this here multiple times and it is always great. Have had the pad thai which is also good as well as a spicy chicken dish which was good. The owner is really nice and the takeout can be ready in about 15 mins so it is very convenient.

Great food, cute little space and super service. They were so accommodating with 3 kids and the food came out incredibly fast, which we all appreciated. There is a new name, it is called Thai Delight and it was a delightful dinner! Would definitely go back, but we were just visiting. Highly recommend this great restaurant slightly off the beaten path!

Now under new management and renamed Thai Delight, this hidden gem is better than ever. New, updated food menu which includes many vegetarian selections and a separate and varied bubble tea menu. Great food and service.

Updated review: first impression was great but I’ve noticed that they can be pretty inconsistent with the flavor of their food. Every time I order the pad thai it’s different, usually good, occasionally not. Not sure if different cooks are the issue, but it would be better if it was consistent. Overall, still a decent bet for thai in the area.

My boyfriend and I went here on a whim and were not disappointed. We ordered some Thai iced tea which is a favorite of mine; and an appetizer of steamed chicken dumplings with ginger sauce, and they were light and delicious. Then I ordered the Pad see eaw and he got the red curry with chicken. Both meals were served promptly and the staff was very kind. We both loved our food and will definitely be back again soon.

Thai iced tea is a southeast Asian classic. Definitely worth trying from here! Crab Rangoon wasn’t the best. There wasn’t much filling. I also had the seafood salad that wasn’t too bad. Seafood and greens are refreshing, and there was a lot of flavor for those that like flavor and spice. It was a bit mushy for my liking.

Vegans and Vegetarians beware: Their vegetarian section is NOT vegetarian or vegan. All of their sauces have oysters but this is not stated anywhere on their menu. Also their menu says they deliver within 1.5 miles but this is not true.

It’s been about 5 years since I ordered food here and WOW, have they improved! Last week I ordered shrimp basil and Tom Yum soup. Both were made with fresh veggies and just the right amount of spice. I plan on dining there again tonight!

Very impressed with the food at Sala Café. We ordered the fried chicken dumplings, Chicken Pad Thai, and Chicken Pad See Ew. Everything was very good. The service was very nice. We will go back again.

Sala café has recently changed owners. The restaurant has been closed for some time now. I would say a couple months but recently I drove by and realized that they were opened. So I went in to say hi. I had discovered that they had switched owners and changed things up a bit. I ordered spicy papaya salad and it was delicious. The service was quick and our waiter was very friendly. I would recommend this place.

Delicious! I’ve been to many thai restaurants in Boston with friends who are from Thailand and I have ordered off the ‘real’ menus, as well as having the typical thai food served to Americans. Sala is among the best I have had! And cheap! Service was very nice as well.

We went during their Grand Opening and we weren’t disappointed. The food was fresh, delicious and simple. The appetizers were cute and tasty, the prices reasonable. Great beer and wine selection. For Asian dining in Attleboro you can’t get anything better.

Their website is completely wrong. Apparently it’s under new management, and they insisted I pay the higher, non advertised prices rather than the ones on the website. Besides that, food was ok. Skip the noodle dishes and go for the curry.

Just tried this today, looking for a decent thai place around attleboro. Previous reviews mentioned it’s now called Thai Lucky, and it is in fact called that on the menus now, however the sign out front still says Sala Café. Went there with a co-worker today to try it out, we were both really surprised at how good it was! The place is tiny inside, not a lot of tables, but appears to be a husband/wife owner that were the only people there, no customers or anything. Both the husband and wife(again assuming) were super friendly. We ordered a couple of sodas, they came in cans, which is pretty normal at a lot of asian places. The lunch menu is actually really nice, and REALLY cheap! All the typical stuff, like hot basil rice, pad thai, red/green/yellow/massaman curries, etc. And the typical choice of veggies/tofu/chicken/beef/pork. My friend ordered the Pad Basil Rice with tofu, I ordered Pad Thai with tofu and Wide Drunken Noodle with Chicken. Before our orders came out, the owners brought us each a veggie springroll to eat as an app, which was unexpected but a nice touch. Basically what you expect from a thai springroll, crispy, filled with julienne’d cabbage/carrot like veggies(I should probably know what’s in them, but I just eat them, not ask questions :)). Our food came out and the plates were really good size! My friends Pad Basil Rice was the usual half sphere mound of white rice on one side, with a stir fry of a lot of veggies/tofu on the other side. My Pad Thai was HUGE! giant serving of noodles, sprouts, tofu, crushed peanuts, scallions, egg, with a couple lime slices on the side. Flavor was great, it was a tamarind-based pad thai. The drunken noodle came out with wide flat noodles, bok choy, thai basil, ground chicken, chiles, red and green peppers, onions, and broccoli. The drunken noodle looked like it wasn’t going to be all that flavorful, but it was actually amazing! It wasn’t as strongly flavored as some I’ve had, but it had a real range of flavor in it and was really fresh and delicious. So overall, the food was good, and it was REALLY good considering how much it cost. The entrees for lunch were all around $ 6 – 7, and given the quantity and quality we got, were easily worth it. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick fix of thai for lunch. A word about spiciness, it was never really mentioned in the menu and I really didn’t think about it. The drunken noodle that should be really spicy was pretty mild. So if you want spicy, you probably want to ask them to spice it up. I normally eat crazy spicy stuff, but this was still really good even though it was pretty mild.

Not sure what happened with the last few reviewers, but we just ate a great dinner at Thai Lucky. Yes, that’s its new name; it’s no longer Sala Café.(Tuesday night is not a bad time to go, BTW.) I’ve eaten there under the old management and under the new. The new is better, from what I’ve seen so far. I hadn’t been there for about 18 months, because the last time I’d been there they really goofed on a takeout order. When it was called Sala it was also a nice place to have a sit-down meal, but the food was slow to come out. The food came out much more quickly when I was there tonight. The food is the same: still very good. I do miss the«fresh roll» appetizer(the veggies in a rice wrapper) that they had when it was Sala. My beloved red curry didn’t seem quite as spicy as before, although maybe it was and my taste buds are about to retire early and move down to Florida due to all the Frank’s Red Hot I pour on/in everything. I really like that the waiter(and owner?) asked whether eggs would be a problem for any of us; good thing, because our merry little group consisted of a vegan, a lacto-vegetarian(me), and a carnivore. Most people don’t care to ask. I appreciate the small stuff.

Don’t come here. They issued a groupon TWODAYSAGO, which we paid for. Ate here. They wouldn’t take the groupon, which we left on the table before ordering; they claim ignorance because they are new owners. Refused to offer any concession. Some people came in with the groupon. We told them they wouldn’t take it and the people left. Glad we caught them. The food is not as good as it was with the previous owners. Stay away.

It’s a quiet, hole in the wall, nothing fancy or glamorous joint– and that’s why I love it. Only about 5 tables and counter sitting it’s perfect to stop in to grab a lunch. The workers are friendly, the food is amazing, and service is always with a smile. Everytime I’ve been there I was the only customer, and everytime(including the first) the owners hook me up with an extra spring roll, or a new appetizer they think I’d like, etc. The food is SIMPLE. Many Thai places go overboard or choose frozen veggies. Sala gets right to the food. I’ve visited Thailand a few years ago for a week, and I have to say it hits the nail pretty head on. Just the right amount of spice and ingredients. Nothing is over $ 11, the portions are huge, and you leave with your wallet and belly happy. You want glitz and glamour, don’t go here, but if you actually care about great service and good food, this is your place. PS– the pictures are old. The place underwent new management and the dining area is different. I will have to upload some soon.

Thai cuisine is possibly one of my favorite solutions to the vegetarian meal — the flavors are strong and the ingredients are fresh and pure. So when contemplating take-out options when heading to a Patriots-in-the-Playoffs party, we decided to try out Sala Café in Attleboro(the menu had been in our«to try» stack for two years). The menu features all your classic Thai stand-bys: Vegetable Rolls(5 $), Vegetarian Pad Thai(9 $), Red Yellow and Massaman Curry(8 – 12 $), and Stir Fry(9 – 12 $). The«Larb»(10 $: minced chicken or beef tossed with cilantro, red onion, lemongrass, scallion, and crushed chilies in spicy lime dressing served over cabbage) sounded interesting, but wasn’t what I was craving. They even have a few Thai/Lao dessert options(~5 $)! We placed our order and hit the road in search of the Sala Café! The restaurant is in kind of a strange location(on the corner next to Sturdy Memorial Hospital… at least there would never be a problem with parking). The restaurant itself screams«old time diner»; there are a few back-to-back tables alongside a service counter, a large television in the corner showed that the Patriots game had just started. The man behind the counter was very welcoming and recognized us as «the take-out order.» I ate an Asian candy while we waited for our paper-bagged meal to be assembled. My Massaman Tofu Curry dish was delicious and I weaseled two meals from the 9 $ portion. My only complaint would be the sharp spices in the curry(I believe that they were intentionally included in the dish for seasoning… however, the roof of my mouth disagrees with keeping them in the portion after it has been moved to the serving vessel). The large chunks of potato, onion, and pepper were soft in the sweet spicy sauce and the tofu was fried up perfectly! The cook was kind enough to include two servings of soup(free of charge!) «to help fight off the cold» — it was slightly bland for my taste and consisted of mushrooms and a salty broth(but the sentiment was much appreciated — like a friend’s mum just trying to look out for your health). The bill was quite reasonable and the service was friendly, so I’m sure we will order from them again. Their website includes Lunch and Dinner specials(ahem — certain nights of the week, you can get a free dessert with the purchase of three entrees!). Definitely good to try for take-out, but not the sort of place I would take to impress the out-of-town in-laws.
