This place is beautiful and fun but their ticket sales people all drive in together on a short bus. Totally illogical sales practice and bizarre methods. I got treated like crap all because I had an electronic ticket and wanted to arrive separately from the others in my party. Can’t do that. Argh

This is a great place not only for basketball but concerts. While you wait to get in you wait in the lobby area. All the people that work there(at least the people I came in contact with) were very helpful and friendly. I don’t think there is a bad place that obstructs your view. The sound at the concert which I was at sounded awesome. Not like some venues and other arenas.

Concert was AWESOME! Staff absolutely sucks! We were on the rail. After spending $ 40 on 2 drinks we were told that we couldn’t have drinks on the floor! Never in our lives have we never been able to have drinks on the damn floor after paying $ 250 for 2 tickets, $ 20 for parking, $ 40 for a shirt, and $ 40 for 2 drinks. We all had to give Barb our cups. 20 minutes later we were told by barb we could have drinks again that the band decided to nix that rule. So we all went and got drinks. Some guy in a black shirt came and took all our drinks away and said we couldn’t have them. I kid you not we had to give not 2 drinks away(there was 2 of us) but 4! $ 80 worth of drinks down the drain! Now the concert is about to start and this same guy drops cases of water off. We all thought«well we can’t have drinks or water on the floor so maybe they will hydrate us with bottle water». WRONG! The concert didn’t even start and people start passing out. That’s a no brainier seeing how NOONECOULDHAVEWATERONTHEFLOOR! I heard a few people were held up at the doors because the security equipment and the ticket equipment was broken. All in all this place doesn’t know it’s head from its butt. Won’t be driving 4 hours for a concert again. Do yourself a favor and stick to Chicago or Pittsburgh instead.

The arena is fine, it’s just a place to watch a basketball game. I don’t want the Pistons to move to Detroit, that would really suck. I just don’t like how Tom Gores is running the place. I recently went to a game versus the Hornets on the 25th, I believe. I guess, apparently, Gores is shelling out money to get semi-talented musical acts like Uncle Kracker to perform during timeouts and halftime? WHY? It certainly explains why seats seem to be artificially and ludicrously overpriced now. I got my seats on the Pistons resale site for about $ 23, but many seats in the middle on the lower bowl and upper bowl were $ 50 – 110! ANDMANYWERESTILLEMPTY!!! Dude, please, save the money you’re wasting on the musical acts and lower the price of tickets. I didn’t pay to see Uncle Kracker perform at a Pistons game, and neither did most other people. I can see why people are staying away even though the Pistons are good. It’s not a fun experience like it used to be when the Davidson family owned the team. I felt like I was in a dive bar in Biloxi, Mississippi, not an NBA game. I also noticed that a lot of the suites in the upper-level are dark now, compared to years ago. That can’t be a good sign. The new seats aren’t that great. As someone that is particular about computer and auto chairs, I don’t like leather or vinyl at all. Cloth is much more comfortable, vinyl/leather gets hot and sweaty. I also have to imagine these things are going to tear VERY easily. Some people have claimed that attendance would improve if the Pistons moved to Detroit. That’s simply untrue. Aside from the Lions, Detroit fans do not support their teams when they are losing. The Tigers had terrible attendance when they were losing at old Tiger Stadium and Comerica. When the Pistons are winning, the Palace does fill up. It was a bit strange that attendance is down this year, but it’s mostly because the team is frankly, pretty boring and I suspect people are getting annoyed by the way Gores is managing entertainment at games. It’s annoying, and I suggest he tinkers with things a bit, preferably getting rid of the musical acts first.

The palace… nice place. I haven’t sat in a seat yet that had a terrible view. There are so many part to the palace. I have yet to get to them all. I live how everything goes in a circle on the outside. The only downfall is the lack of restrooms. Although most venues never have enough restrooms, the palace seems to have fewer than others. I’ve often been there when they will shut down some of the men’s bathrooms to allow women to use them. The prices are usually high just as expected at a venue of the sort. The seats are tight! Leg space is very limited and causing me to feel claustrophobic during a long show or game. Get the lower level as they are leather and roomier. There’s more leg space there as well. Security is great and the parking isn’t bad. The palace of auburn hills is alright with me.

Very nice facility! We were lucky enough to have outstanding seats, so it was a great place to watch a professional basketball game and I’m not even a big fan! I enjoy all the entertainment that goes on between periods. It is quite a show! Lots of noise and music, which i enjoy!

I don’t know what else to say, but it’s a great stadium? I’ve been here for concerts and just recently, a basketball game. The sight lines are all pretty good. I’ve been up by the nose bleed sections during concerts and you’re gonna wanna bring binoculars if you do. It’s pretty easy to navigate the arena. Lots of concession stands around, so if you want to purchase a refreshment or a snack of sorts, they’re all at striking distance. So that you can get back to your game as soon as possible. When nature calls, there are restrooms located not far as well. So you won’t have to walk a mile just to take a tinkle. Convenience is where it’s at. This stadium is actually a very pleasant place to be. Thank you for reading my review.

Great venue for large events. The sound is surprisingly excellent for the size of the building. Numerous(highly overpriced) concession stands are located throughout if you’re hungry. There are enough bathrooms to accommodate large crowds. Just know that if you’re seated far away and want a good view, bring binoculars, or rely on the large screen tv’s that so many tours seem to employ now.

Let me begin by saying I only gave a single star to begin with because zero isn’t an option. I came here for The Weeknd’s concert because it was the closest show to Columbus. Complete waste of a trip. After trying over an hour after the concert to get a ride back to my hotel, I was actually told by multiple security staff that this venue, which hosts basketball games and concerts the entire calendar year, couldn’t figured out how to get cabs or Über drivers into the parking lot to pick up patrons after the event and that I was wasting my time because they wouldn’t be able to come get me. After my phone and dozens of other patrons’ phones died from trying desperately to get a ride, we were all told to «walk down the street» to a restaurant to use their phones, but were refused by customer service staff to have rides called for us and were again told that there was too much outside traffic for cabs or Ubers to come get us, so we would have to leave the venue and go to the main street. Mind you, it’s now almost 12:30AM in DETROIT. About 15 minutes later, while we were all still frantically trying to figure out how we were going to get home, we were told by security that we HAD to leave, and that they had received word that a restaurant across the street was where all the cabs were going to pick people up since there was so much traffic to the street running perpendicular to it. As we began walking to the restaurant we realized two things: 1) There was NO traffic anywhere at all. ALL of the concert traffic had gone completely. 2) There were zero cabs to be found at the restaurant across the street. They just fed us a bunch of crap to get us out, probably so they could go home. Two hours after the concert was over, after literally pleading with business owners across the street from the venue just to use a phone, I was finally able to get a ride back to my hotel. Absolutely abysmal customer service on all accounts. Next time I travel for a concert I’d travel three times the distance to be able to avoid this godforsaken venue.

Great for concerts! Easy in and out! Take your time getting there in time for a concert to start! You just walk on in! Lots of stairs! Stay high and you do not need to stand! If you sit high, you get to actually sit! People today have the need to stand instead of relaxing and enjoying the show!

Having very recently attended a basketball game in Brooklyn, I have an easy point of comparison for The Palace of Auburn Hills. As an out of towner, here are some thoughts: Pros + The stadium seating design is terrific. So much better than at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, where the upper level seats felt so far away that I really did get a nosebleed climbing to my chair. The 200(upper-level) seats here felt close to the action. + The facility is clean(surprisingly not the norm in all stadiums). + Staff were friendly and willing to help. + We were there for a basketball game on Star Wars Night. Sounds tacky, but everyone got into it and it ended up being a lot more fun than I had thought. Most stadiums go half-assed in their attempts to create a theme night, but the Pistons did their job right. Cons — The primary reason for the 4 star rating, and not 5, is because the location is absolutely horrible for anyone visiting Detroit. Folks, Auburn Hills is not Detroit. It’s not close to Detroit. It is a 40 – 60 minute drive from where the other stadiums(e.g., Ford Field, Comerica Park) are. This is brutal for people visiting the city, and wanting to check out an event here. Might explain the dirt cheap tickets though… — FYI: Parking is $ 10 and there is plenty of space. If you plan on taking Über here, be aware that Über charges a $ 10 dropoff fee, so that sucks.

Definite 5 stars, not even for the Palace itself or the history, but for the ushers. They were all just so nice, it was crazy(I come from Chicago, so I suppose a lot of places are nicer). Anyway $ 10 for parking right outside, it’s great. Away from Detroit so it’s easy to get to with not a lot of traffic around. I was a little bummed because inside, there are not many thing to take pictures with aside from the trophies in the lower level. We had 100 level seats so we had waiter service, but they even had a BWW that you could go to in the halls. From what my group told me, the loaded tater tots were pretty good, Someone said the chicken wrap wasn’t worth it, and another stated that the mac and cheese was eh. The gf and I got some seasonal beer, I liked the Dark Horse Raspberry Ale but I forgot what the other one was. Anyway, the usher right next to us was just so nice, talking to us throughout the game, wishing us a safe ride back to Chicago. Then the dancing usher(if you don’t know, look it up on youtube) was even in front of us and was very nice. Posed for pictures with us. The one person who was not nice though was Hooper, that darn horse. Sprayed us with silly string. Anyway, fun game, the Bulls lost to the Pistons but at least we’ll make the playoffs! I do love how they give out shirts for every 3 pointer made. That’s a lot of shirts man. I actually caught one too which never happens at the United Center.

One of metro Detroit’s many music/entertainment venues. I’ve been to many concerts here in my life, including Duran Duran– yay! I’ve also attended a Piston’s game here once, too. Each time, I thought this was one of the better overall venues I’ve seen, despite some of its obvious flaws. For starters, the acoustics and lighting are top notch. Live music really sounds good here, better than some inferior venues that are also much cheaper. Security inside is tight, but they do a good job of maintaining the peace, even if the rowdier concert goers. Lines are usually orderly and move at a brisk clip, so there’s no mindless milling about holding up access to seats in the stadium. I don’t think the folks manning the concessions allow people to get overly intoxicated, either. It seems like that is usually squashed before it becomes a problem. I like that. Tickets are never cheap and concessions are expensive. $ 9 for a beer! That’s a little bit steep! The line to the ladies room is always long, but hey, at least it’s pretty clean. That’s more than I can say for many entertainment venues in metro Detroit or elsewhere, for that matter. The parking leaves much to be desired, however. I got into a fender bender in the parking lot once after leaving a concert. Security was not exactly on the ball with that one. It takes a long time to get out of this arena after an event, any event, really. Make sure you hit the restrooms before trying to exit, especially during the winter months, because it may take awhile to get out of there and on the road.

This stadium is legit. They have Bdubs! I didn’t get any, but that’s still awesome. The beers are 24oz for $ 9.50 which is not bad in my opinion. Sat it section 226 in row 1 and the seats were great! Compared to United Centers 200 level these ones seemed way closer. I am one of the fat bottomed girls who makes the world go round tho and the seats weren’t that comfortable. Had I been in any other row I would have been miserable. Thank goodness for the glass to put my feet up on the ledge. They should also set up a taxi system around the stadium. We had to cross a major street to get to the nearest bar Ciccerellis to wait for a taxi that never even showed up!!! Thank God the bars shuttle driver gave us a ride back to our hotel.

This review will be totally biased lol, I really enjoy coming here, there’s always a diverse crowd and since I’m a people watcher, that’s a plus for me. The concession prices are extremely high though! But I guess you’re paying for convenience. Great for concerts and sporting events, besides when the Pistons played Indiana back way back I’ve come here without incident. Overall a cool place!

I finally got a chance to see a pro game outside of Chicago as I watched the Pistons pummel my Bulls last Friday nite. Not that much different from the United Center in Chicago except the Palace may be a little bit older. We had really good seats as we were six rows away from the tunnel that lead to the dressing rooms. It was sometimes difficult to get a drink from the servers as we don’t know which one handled our area… once we found her she took our orders, but she was handling a lot of sections. I ordered 2 beers in case I didn’t see her for awhile. I also decided to go to the concessions after that. This place is quite a trek from Detroit… FYI Had a great time in a really good stadium!

I love the Palace. It is definitely the best arena in Michigan(take note new Wings Arena). The views are spectacular. The sound system is incredible. I love their Titantron which provides a great crisp view of the action, especially for those folks in the nosebleeds. They have a solid beer selection. Their Pistons store often has great sales. I’m in love with their pizza, it’s Hungry Howies and delicious. The staff is always on point in helping you locate your seats(however, if you are one of them people who like to sneak down closer to get a better view, this is a bad thing… they are like Hawks guarding their section lol) Their bathrooms are always clean and ample. A+ facility and the Pistons won!!! They tore the Miami Heat up when I went.

Great venue for big shows and concerts. We saw Barry Manilow on a Sunday night. It was a great show. We were lucky enough to have a suite. Great seats, sound was wonderful, suite was nicely updated with 2 flat screen tvs and leather couches. Look forward to the next event!

I love the Palace but was very sad last night when I entered. I realize the Pistons are having a rough time of it lately, but the stadium was empty. The turned the lights off in the top section because they were empty. It has been a while but I was remembering the good times and how this place used to be very loud and crazy. They will be good again and I’ll continue cheering for them in the meantime. The concession stands bothered me. Why are they selling mac and cheese? Why are there almost no craft beer vendors, and why did this place go from awesome to very vanilla and boring. Cost cuts? I think this is such a great venue but Mr. Gore could do a bit more for our dollar while we are there.
