We have gotten the same run around that many others have about the«check is in the mail» for items sold. We have tried several times to no avail to get the money owed for our consigned furniture. Has anyone had any GOOD luck with this store? How did you get the money owed you?

Use them at your own peril. They will sell your things but you must fight for your money! They do not send checks, return phone calls or act in concordance with the contract. BEWARE!!!

Beware. I consigned a lovely Victorian reproduction sofa last November that sold after the first of the year. Phone calls, emails, personal appearances brought countless«the check is in the mail» responses: well, not so much, I still haven’t been paid. I should have paid more attention to the CON in CONsignment store. In addition, staff/owners are no fun to work with. I have been treated rudely and dismissively in every interaction. Reading the other Unilocal reviews, I can’t understand how they keep getting away with these kind of business practices. Now they won’t respond to me at all. So, don’t be seduced by the lovely pieces at great prices… it’s likely those who consigned them won’t see a penny for the sale of their own items!

I wrote a review 7÷17÷14. It has disappeared… so here we go again. BEWARNED the people who own this business are thieves and liars. I consigned a lovely Victorian reproduction sofa with them November last year. I was told, ONLYAFTER I INQUIRED the sofa sold at auction after the first of the year. I was told in person by grouchy-old-man-store owner his wife was behind(with a roll of his eyes, because we all know what the problem the little ladies can be) but the check would out that weekend. Ummm, not so much. In person, calls and emails later«the check is in the mail» con wears thin. Finally, Mr grouchy-old-man was at least real in telling me I was not getting my money and there was nothing I could do about it. Well, sir(and I use the term loosely), maybe you are right. I should have paid more attention to the CON in CONsignment. Just remember that karma is a b___h and I am glad I am not you! Eventually your thieving ways will catch up with you!

An Eclectic Home responded that they have«policies» I have met all of the«policies» for release of my items. Months later they are still held hostage. $ 1725.00(now more than before as I have discovered the knee peddle and key for my portable antique sewing machine are lost, making it worthless) worth of merchandise. One of their«policies» is that when a piece is sold it is processed the following month and paid the month after that. My desk was sold in August, according to the list record, so by the policies of An Eclectic Home my check would be «processed» in September and paid in October. November 7th Michelle Williams, manager, email me that my check had been«placed in the mail.» The check for my desk arrived on the 18th of November, postmarked the 17th of November and written on the 16th of November. So the«policies» only seem to apply to the consigner. I has been a year since I have seen my two overstuffed chairs and no record of sale and no payment. I am told they«rotate» items… I guess every two years or so. The broken stained glass door, «sent to an artist» is still awol. I would just like my items returned, at this point I can use some of them. How hard would it be to just let me take my items. AND by the way… UHAUL’s reviews should NOT be confused with the ones for An Eclectic Home Consignment

U-Haul is really expensive but I was in a jam and Michelle got me the truck I needed and matched the price that Budget truck had. She was so professional and helpful I was really impressed. It was busy and she professionally greeted the customers and multi-tasked all of their needs. I was having issues with finding the truck I needed and Michelle went above and beyond renting me a pick up truck that you usually can’t take out of the area, but it needed to end up closer to the bay area where i was going with it so I was lucky she hooked it up and in such a short notice, I was on my way in 30 minutes! While I was there I peeked inside of the store and I found they had a lot of mid-century furniture at very reasonably prices. I would hire Michelle to represent my company!

If you decide to leave your furniture here on consignment, be prepared for keeping track of your own records. You will never get notified of when items sell, and getting your money is another story. When you inquire, you are treated very rudely and have to appear in person to collect. Phone calls are never returned. Horrible customer service. They were courteous when receiving merchandise, however.

As you first walk into this store you see a complete over-crowding. Prices are extremely high, a ceramic plate for 100.00, a crystal vase for 95.00– me thinks not… There is a side room of items which is completely disorganized. Customer service is the worst. The owners are VERY rude, and leave you waiting. I will not shop here again. In this economy, if you get clients walking in your door, you should be honored; customer service is crucial…

I took merchandise in months ago. I have called a few times to follow up on my items, left messages and have nevert gotten a return phone call. Customers are suppose to be contacted by them if something has been on the floor for a specific amount of time and asked if its ok to mark down further. I have to physically go out and see if my items are still there and if so, am taking them back with me. It’s a nice space and there is a lot of nice merchandise, but I expect more service as a customer and because of the lack of, I cannot recommend them to anyone.

Wow! I was shocked when I saw so much high quality merchandise. I was kind of expecting a flea market atmosphere filled with stuff nobody would want. I have been looking for a large dinning room table for a year or so and I found one that was near perfect. I made an offer then walked around a corner and found my dream table. A very nice twelve seater with chairs for 675.00!
