Elks Lodge 1691 is an active and productive member of the Auburn community. As new members to the area, as well as to Elkdom, we have found all Elks to be friendly, helpful and welcoming. The lodge, which is a fine, clean facility, is well maintained by its members. Every meal my husband and I have enjoyed here has been delicious and creative. From BBQ’d steaks to pizza/spaghetti nights to delicious breakfasts(and so much more!), we have been impressed with the quality and careful preparation of our food. Kudos to the chef!

This is the LAST place you would want to have your event, in the town of Auburn CA. The building is old and dilapidated… they should have demolished this place 20 years ago. The food is quite awful… last time I was there, they were still using canned green beans. An interesting factoid about this Lodge: about 20 years ago, the members purchased an acre of land on the other side of town, near Raley’s market. That land still sits empty, because the older members refuse to vote for the new Lodge building. It wouldn’t cost them a dime to move: a real estate developer had offered to build the new lodge for nearly nothing, in exchange for their downtown Auburn property. The members refuse to budge. So the younger members are waiting for the older ones to die off so they can proceed with the plans for a newer building. Note that the Placerville Elks successfully moved to Shingle Springs, into a modern new facility that is the State Of The Art(as Elks Lodges go). The Placerville lodge should be a model for the Auburn Elks, should they finally decide to tear the old Elks Lodge down.
