This is a classic old library recently expanded and completely modernized with more space, a café downstairs, wifi, group study and function rooms, computers, and fully updated facilities. The good news: the library attracts a really wide range of users and activities, and is about much more than just books. The downside(and my only point of disagreement with reviewer Nolo B) is that the place gets LOUD. While it’s great to see a bunch of seniors engaged in spirited games of scrabble or whatever, the library’s open layout doesn’t provide enough quiet space for all uses.(The three study rooms are often occupied or reserved, and function rooms are locked when not in use for a program). I recommend music and headphones if you really need to concentrate. Study spaces are mostly adjacent to high-use common areas, so there’s no escaping the noise. That said, it’s great to see such a busy, thriving library!

Beautiful old building created back in 1903 with a donation from Andrew Carnegie. Many study cubes and many available electrical plugs for laptops and other electronics. Wonderful collection of books, DVDs, audio books, and magazines. The staff is always helpful and friendly. The library is relatively quiet with a separate section for children and the staff usually asks loud people to leave. There is also free WiFi available and the speed of the network is quite good. If you want get something to eat or drink — there is an award winning Library café housed in the same building.
