Jeff B has it right about this shop, but I would add that they are also knowledgeable and have a good selection for the road runner. I buy my trail and road shoes here and have for over 8 years. This is a great local resource.

Not a runner but I needed a shoe that wouldn’t hurt and I could wear for several hours a day. Salesperson was terrific knew what I needed and explained why it would be the best for me. Took time to assist and bring out multiple pairs of shoes even though he had several customers come in, he made everyone feel like they were taken care of. Wish I had gotten his name but I will not forget the next time I need shoes where to go. A ended up with a pair of Altra;s and was able to wear them the rest of day and evening without pain. Wow what a blessing. Thank you!

Excellent customer service and the shoes are pretty great too! Came in to get my sister a pair of running shoes and had no idea where to start. They helped educate us on the perfect pair of shoes for her feet and brought out several for her to try on. She loves her new shoes!

Always down to support the small shops. My wife has always purchased her running shoes from here and the tradition continues.
She always gets the same Asics and why change when you have found something that works so well.
We walked in, showed the shoe she wanted to match and got what she wanted. The name of the shoe was different but the support she wanted was the same.
The staff was nice and helpful and this was probably the easiest sale of the day.
All in all another great experience and I am jealous of her bright green shoes.

I met here for a team in training meeting. The staff was very helpful and we all had a great time. They fitted us for shoes but there was not pressure to buy right then and there. They just want to make sure everyone has the right equipment so they done get hurt. The only downside is (and this is just personal) that they didnt have a very large selection. I will be going back soon to try on and get new shoes!

The guys that work in here are SUPER friendly, helpful, and know their stuff! I always feel welcome when I walk in! (there is one employee who is not so friendly, and one day we left sans buying shoes because she made us feel unwelcome.) Recently, we bought a pair of Asic’s and a pair of Brook’s from one of the guys who work there. We are SO happy with our new running shoes! We will be back to purchase more shoes from the awesome GUYS at the running store!

This store beats all others. Period. If you’re new to running or an old pro at it, this is the place for you.
The owner has been running for centuries, or at least his knowledge of running shoes and local trails leads me to believe that. He’s helped me pick out shoes. He spent an inordinate amount of time with me, had me run to see the type of foot I have (do you pronate? do you have a floppy foot? etc). And he recommend the best shoe for my type of foot. He’s awesome!
The only drawback is that they don’t sell Saucony, so I haven’t patronized their establishment as often as I would have had they sold Saucony shoes. And parking on Lincoln Ave stinks during busy times… so just go at non-​busy times. :)

My wife and I were introduced to Auburn Running Company, while involved with «Team in Training». We have been loyal customers ever since. Staff is extremely knowledgable and take the time to make sure, you are getting the correct shoe for your running style. Service is always friendly and outstanding.

This store is the hub of trail running in Auburn SRA. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly; they have a great selection of gear and shoes targeted to the trail runner. Unlike Fleet Feet, which caters to the entire running community, this store, their staff and merchandise are guaranteed to be able to answer every trail running question you could possibly have. Also lots of greats Auburn SRA maps, so hikers will also find this store to be a good resource.
I was just in there before Way Too Cool 50K to pick up my race packet. They are awesome.

So I grew up in Auburn before moving down to San Diego, and I didn’t start running until after I had left town and this place opened. I wish I still lived in Auburn or that Dan and his fantastic store were here in SD instead. First, the staff is incredible. Knowledgeable, friendly, patient, really exceptional. And even though the building is small, their selection is actually better in some ways than bigger, corporate running stores, like the Road Runner warehouse here in SD. They don’t carry the same depth of product that Road Runner and their ilk do, but the breadth is great. Hydration packs, sun-​protection hats, gloves, head lamps. Because of the ultrarunning community in and around Auburn (the self-​proclaimed «Endurance Capital of the World»), they have a lot of trail running gear and the more specialized items made for running all day.
I can’t recommend this place enough. If you are already a runner or even thinking about starting, this is a great resource to have.
