The main strength of this location is the small motor repair and rental shop. The people are friendly, turn around time is fast, and they do good work at a reasonable price. I took a lawn mower in and they fixed it fast. I went to another shop first and a gruff person quoted double the price just to look at it and said he was backed up for 4 weeks. These guys did it for 2⁄3 the price and had it about a week. The also have a nice rental dept. and I want to rent a stump grinder. They have it! The down side is hardware prices are a little high. One the plus side they have just about everything.

I’ve had my leaf blower in there for repair for about 4 weeks or more and all they say is we are backed up in our repairs. If they’re that backed up why the hell don’t they hire more people to fix equipment. I guess I’ll have to take my all other equipment to somebody else. Summer will be over by the time I get it back.

Best auburn experience! My husband and I were driving our daughter to school and noticed our car was pulling really hard one direction. We pulled over and we were on the ground. We asked true value if they had air for the tie and they said yes! We pulled around in front and they got us back on the road! True value rental department is my go to need store from now on! Thanks guys

I went into True Value looking for a light bulb I had never purchased before. I showed the very helpful cashier the old one and she directed me to the aisle. Then I needed help figuring out which one I needed. I asked Joe for help and he was so helpful, so pleasant and so kind. Before I left I asked him about a problem I have with my sink sprayer. He was also very helpful and advised me to bring the handle in to make sure we get the right one as there are so many to choose from. And I will. From start to finish the service at True Value is GREAT! Thanks to Joe and the two cashiers who helped also!!!

Wonderful people. I’ve been shopping at HD and TVH the last few years and while the orange shirts walk away when they see you coming, everyone at True Value is personable and friendly and helpful, referring me to other stores when needed. Cashiers caring enough to know my name is a bonus.

This place understands customer service. We recently had some locks changed and some windows re-​screened. Prices were actually lower than the place in Sacramento that we used to go for these services. Everyone in the store made you feel like a friend and went out of their way to make sure you were taken care of. Can’t find this type of service at the big box stores.

I found what I wanted. However, the political conversation initiated by the cashier really turned me off! Not knowing what my political leanings are, she spouted off on the candidates I am supporting.
They are entitled to their opinion, but I will choose not to shop where my politics are mocked!

Well staffed with knowledgeable clerks. A good assortment of housewares, hardware, electrical, plumbing and well, what I would expect. Even had poison oak soap which was valuable given I was cutting wood with that all around me. Pricing is a few dollars more than the larger home improvement stores.

I love this place! The only place I know in town I can buy windshield washer fluid with antifreeze.
I did buy an expired tube of shower caulk with horrible results last year. But they helped make it right with a gallon of alcohol and a big bag of rags.

5 stars for cheap ass long long over the knee socks. sure they’re cheaply made, but what do you expect for $ 2.99?
I had to quietly giggle to myself while paying for them. the cashier was kinda looking at me like I was a street prostitute. over striped otk socks? Oh please! But on the other hand, it could have simply been the usual attitude I get from a lot of old school folks when they notice how very abc i am. But whatever, cheap socks like those are hard to come by! when I’m looking for a bargain, I’m not looking for congenial service, i’m looking for cheapness!
I barely looked at anything else, but felt like very under priced overseas cheaply made housewares. like the stuff you’d pick up at the flea market. Yep, cheap as all get out. And while very cool for the thrift minded among us, don’t forget: you get what you pay for!

This is my toy store! I like going here because even though it is a chain it still has that small town atmosphere where the people who work there actually know where everything is located AND have knowledge about their product.
