Me and some friends stopped by here on our way back from Truckee as we happened to see it off the freeway. Having tried a location in Orange County I felt it necessary to show me friends! Upon parking the space looks like a small shack, but upon entering you see it is themed as you would expect any beach hut deli. The staff is exceptionally kind and helpful and the sandwiches were incredible. Get the Skinny Dipper or one of their specialties for the location, and be warned the small sandwich is still quite filling, so even for the high price, it’s worth it!

If it was possible to give this place less than 1 star I would. I have been to beach but multiple times and it’s one of my favorite places to eat however, this location did not do beach hut deli justice. When we got our sandwiches they were DROWNING in mayo(so bad we couldn’t even finish our sandwiches), they messed up and gave me the wrong bread and didn’t get my produce right. We payed 28 $ for two sandwiches which is ridiculous but usually I don’t mind paying extra for beach hut cause it’s normally worth it but definitely not worth it here. The service wasn’t great either. The girls all seem to be stoned out of their minds and half of them look like they just rolled out of bed wearing pajama pants and looking like they didn’t even run a brush through their hair. The only good thing about this place is their electronic soda machine… Which was out of like 3 of the sodas that they advertise. DONOTGOTOTHISLOCATIONYOUWILLBEDISAPPOINTED.

The two stars is only because the sandwiches are pretty consistent with other Beach Hut Deli’s. However, the service is terrible. We used to live close to this location and every time we would leave we wondered why we kept returning. The kids who work here appear to be high and do not try to hide it. While we were there this last and final visit we saw several younger people at a table keep getting up and going behind the bar and filling these little plastic cups with beer. Over… And over again. The girl working the register was so oblivious and uninterested in me and my order that she completely missed one of the sandwiches I ordered. I repeated myself several times and she still didn’t get it right. An employee came in with their small child who ran behind the counter and was throwing a stufft animal all over where they are making your sandwich. I have nothing against kids but seriously??? If you are looking for a great place to grab a yummy sandwich and a great beer KEEPDRIVING!!! There is Little Belgium Deli in Auburn where you will get great service an awesome meal and huge selection of wonderful beers and now wine on tap! Also, try Beach Hut in Rocklin right up the road it was a very different great expirience!

We waited 20 min for two sandwiches and had to go back and ask for the salads that we ordered. The pasta salad looked old and was mushy and pasty — took it back and traded for a potato salad. We had to send one sandwich back because it disintegrated when I tried to pick it up and eat it — way too much mayonnaise combined with avocado just made a huge mess — we got a refund and shared the plain turkey. The lady was really nice about it though and did her best to make up for it.

Consistently tasty sandwiches. The specials are always great. Try the Chicken Pesto or the Jammer=Holy Hell Happy Taste Buds. I’ve always experienced good service at this location and they seem to keep a decent pace and get the food out in a timely manner. My ONLY complaint(and it’s ALL Beach Hut Deli’s that I have found this to be true), is that many of the girls who work there make sandwiches with their long hair not in a ponytail. I just don’t see how this is a good practice. On a couple occasions I’ve found a hair in my food that I believe is avoidable if they’d simply wear their hair back. Other than that, it’s a good spot.

always enjoy these giant sandwiches, just wish the prices were a bit lower… I gotta remember to order the half sandwich option which I never see at the far bottom right of the menu.

By far the most expensive sandwiches I’ve ever purchased, but they are huge! Great ingredients that are fresh, the bread is good and the service is great!

Last night we thought we’d stop by the beach hut on this side of town, we’ve been going to the one on highway 49 side of auburn for years. Within seconds of walking in we were asked«what can I get you guys», thanks for the instant greeting but give us just a second to decide. We ordered without a problem the girls name was«sierra» just like mine so it stuck out to me. She was very sweet and was happy to add to my sandwich but my boyfriend ordered the«drakster» his usual favorite and was very disappointed that it was on plain old burnt sourdough. It’s advertised on toasted garlic sourdough that is TODIEFOR and is never missed at the location across town! As we were handed our sandwiches(with still about an hour before closing time) a possible boyfriend of another employee, I don’t believe he himself was an an employee, brought two puppies behind the counter where the food was being made! Being an animal lover myself I still find this revolting! Two dogs where the girls are making another customers order?! Unbelievable and definitely against health codes! I was happy to have my order before the dogs were walking around behind the counter, no way we’re we about to return for a remake after that.

Consistent prep, friendly service, convenient location. Love the California, Monterey and Santa Cruz(minus the signature cream cheese and bacon — I know, I’m weird). If you want a little spice, try the Mesa salad! No complaints. And as a carb connoisseur, I can say the bread is WAyyyyyy better than subway!

Worst service I’ve ever experienced with beach hut. My family and I will never return to this location worth the drive to go to the location off 49 they have amazing service and have never been disappointed at that location. For being a local I’m very disappointed they have girls working there who are very rude and messed up our order.

bread regular white bread, plenty of meat, pastrami bit bland, fresh tomatoes and lettuce, 8 inch medium 12 bucks which filled me up and I’m a good eater, served on a Frisbee which I thought was cool, ambiance was very beachy

Better then subway or togos for sure, however the prices are ridiculous. I get the whole beach vibe but it would be nice to see some employees properly dressed. Came here a few months back and was slightly disturbed to see a toddler running around in the kitchen, as well as seeing one of the employees making food with a small child on her hip. Sanitary?! I think not. However in auburn there is not a large selection of sandwiche places and its close to my work. If you go, I highly recommend trying there sandwiches lettuce wrapped. Very yummy!

I’ve eaten at this location 3 times now since they’ve opened. Each time there has been a problem with the order although the food was OK. We are new to the area and don’t know where else to go for sandwiches yet(don’t like Subway or Togo’s). Went there last night. Pulled up at 8:00. The sign said Open. There were people sitting outside. Started to walk in and some one came out and told us they were now closed. They clearly had not closed yet. Ended up leaving and going to a restaurant. I won’t be going back. The other location in town is no better.

Their food is really good, but, if you go in and order a sandwich you wait at least 20 minutes to get your sandwich. If you call by phone and are lucky enough to get through, you might get to have your sandwiches when you get there. I called today at 11 o’clock in the morning and the line was busy for 25 minutes. So, no Beach Hut Deli, we had McDonald’s. Maybe they should think about getting a second telephone line.

Called in a large carry out order and it was ready in 20 minutes. My sandwich was GF and I had my doubts about how good it could be in a lettuce wrap. I have eaten at Beach Hut Deli prior to my Celiacs diagnosis and loved their sandwiches. I was pleasantly surprised when I unwrapped mine and it looked just like a normal sandwich(except the lettuce wrap of course) and it was delicious! Will be ordering the surfin bird in a lettuce wrap again.

Walked into this new location after wanting to try them for sometime… the experience was incredibly lackluster. First of all, I felt rushed and given a look of annoyance as a customer, like it was some character flaw I hadn’t known what I wanted as soon as I walked in, nor know what kinds of meats/cheese/bread they offered. Strike one. Secondly-the sandwich was wrong. I ordered a sandwich with two cheeses and they instead slathered some whipped cream cheese on it. While I get people love cream cheese, especially according to their menu which seems like a good 1⁄3rd of them have cream cheese, it’s not what I ordered. Meat portions were so so, veggie portions nearly non existent. Strike two. Price-If I was handed $ 12 of sandwich, i’d be satisfied. This was no more packed with anything than togos. I shouldn’t be able to fit my mouth into a bite for that price. Really, the quality of ingredients didn’t come through, that’s it to a point as far as quality/cost. Vegetables were almost non existent. Nice bread though. Strike three. Really, at this price, with their following, I was expecting much better. A great sandwich is my favorite food. Nothing here, in this experience, was great. I feel ripped off. I can appreciate the fine balance between quality/quantity, customer service and cost, but this place just failed in those regards. I may hate subway, but I’d rather have a $ 5 sub from them then pay $ 12 for what I got. Huge disappointment.

The sandwich was good although the price tag was shocking. All the employees were very nice and the place was clean and welcoming. Don’t know I can justify paying 12 bucks for a veggie sandwich again. …
