Bel Air

Your deli is always clean and stocked. The clerks are always friendly. Everything is fresh. My sandwiches are always delicious. There was a long line checking out and there was a new line with a bagger ready to open up fast. :)

This review is based on overall experience at Raley’s. I would like to highlight one trip here though.
I went grocery shopping about 7 pm, and I was very thirsty. I had a water bottle with ice left over, but I wanted a soda, so I bought a drink. I told the cashiers (2 of them) that I was still shopping, but I wanted the drink while I was shopping, so go ahead and give me the receipt just in case. I walked to the dining area and filled my water bottle with the soda, and I threw away the container (there was no recycling). There was an employee sitting there who didn’t acknowledge me at all. I started to shop with purchased soda. About 5 – 10 minutes later, the security guard came up to me with the empty bottle, and asked if I filled my water bottle with it previously, and said that an employee had concerns. I said yes. He started to go on talking, and I interrupted him. I told him I bought it, I had the recipient, and the 2 cashiers up front could verify it. I offered to show him the receipt and he took it and verified. He apologized to me profusely, and explained that they had been having problems recently with shop lifting this time a night. I told him I completely understood and thanked him for his concern. He went on to talk to me for several minutes about my job (I had on my name tag), and he ended up apologizing more, and thanking me for what I did as a profession. I went on my merry way and continued shopping. Despite this somewhat embarrassing experience (that could have been avoided if the employees communicated a little better, plus I was 1 of maybe 4 customers in the store), the employees were all very respectful and did a great job at protecting their store. I really appreciate that. The products are good here, and the employees are always very welcoming, sincere, and take the time to remember you and ask how you are. I will of course return, but unfortunately not that often, as its a little out of my price range. Thank you for amazing employees Raley’s of Auburn (:

Best quality meats, fish and produce in all of North Auburn area. Definitely better than Safeway’s just down the street. Prices are competitive with other higher quality grocery stores. Weekly sales and $ 5 Mondays always have plenty in stock, rarely out of stock. Store staff are friendly in all areas. Checkouts open quickly when lines start to back up. If you are sick and tired of other store’s lousy qualty, sale items out of stock or complicated with online Club Card requirements or mean spirited, almost spiteful employees, just down the street, then going to Bel Air resolves all those issues and is the better store, especially in quality. Bel Air is like a little slice of heaven compared to the larger corporate chain stores.

Not friendly… at deli had stale teriyaki chicken… went back… not to complain… to try pork… was told… no samples… by the pound… buy a whole piece. …left went to raleys… better overall

I like going here because they have a big variety of foods… easy to find stuff… I like having the postal service there too… sometimes it is pricey tho.

Their pharmacy is the best in auburn. Very friendly staff and quick. As for the grocery, prices are a little high but the staff and short lines make up for it.

Passing through Auburn on our way East and decided to stop for some picnic supplies. Very nice market but the staff is what makes this a 5 star place. We found them very helpful and accommodating helping us out and overall made a very welcoming introduction into their lovely community.
Good selection and very fair pricing. I would certainly shop here again!

Kung Pow chicken is just that. POW, way too much spice heat. I like spicy but this stuff isn’t food, it’s caustic paint remover. Never again will I be able to feel my lips. Stay away if you like to taste anything again.

A great selection of healthy, organic products and items. This store is clean and organized. If I lived in town, I’d shop here more often for certain products.

Prices here have gone up a bit too much. They don’t really match or compete with the other unionized local grocery markets. Even Safeway is slightly cheaper than Bel Air. But in all honesty it’s not like they are setting their prices. I’m sure some corporate office tells them exactly what to charge for the majority of products. Service is friendly, most items are easy to find, NATURAL FOODS AISLE REMOVED. They now have all natural foods items on green shelves around the store with other similar products.
As great as the workers are, it’s clear that the upper management (in store or corporate level) is doing a lackluster job at the following
–Competitive Pricing
–Proper store layout with a real natural foods section. I’m sure this is because they want to make us walk around a bunch to find our natural foods so we notice other items on displays and spend more money. It’s somewhat of a petty product placement tactic that you really wouldn’t expect from any decent supermarket.
–CEO/​Corporate issues with strikes in the last year and pay freezes on employees despite Joyce Raley Teel being a billionaire. She has multiple charities set up to make Raley’s appear like a great store while most employees struggle to make livable wages.
–Customer service office is not unionized and therefore Raley’s refuses to make simple cost of living adjustments to their hourly pay rates. Top out wages in this office have not been changed in over five years and there is no signs that it will be changed anytime soon.
Overall. It appears that at a corporate level the Raley’s business model is to appear like a family friendly store while they shaft their workers. The employees are the only nice part about this store, and most of them feel cheated by their corporate overseer.

The organization of this store is spot on! They have what seems like almost every checkout stand open to help streamline your check out as fast as possible. Walking around you can hear the employees talk on their headsets to communicate customers’ needs quickly and efficiently.
They have a large selection of organic products that I can’t find at other stores, and their selection of imported and specialty items are broad. I can find grape leaves, truffle oil, udon noodles with broth seasoning, fish cake, and kale chips here, when I even ask about some of these items at other stores they stare at me blankly.
Their coffee stand inside is quick and tasty; you can grab bakery items, deli sandwiches and even Chinese food.
The parking lot sucks like the rest of the lots in Auburn, but the store it right on the money in all aspects.

We just moved to the area and stopped at this Bel Air location today. It was a great experience! Very clean and well stocked. The staff was very sweet, friendly, and helpful. A lady in the bakery gave my little ones a cookie and the lady at the Peet’s coffee stand was super nice and gave them a snack sample as well. Nice treat for the kids as I continued shopping. Our checker was very nice and chatted with my toddlers as well as the person who bagged our groceries and helped us to the car. Very pleasant shopping experience. The prices are ok. I think some stuff is too pricey but overall their prices are comparable to other stores that lack the same excellent customer service.

This store is very nice to shop at. Stopped in here on our way to our daughters house. We picked up a few items for her. The store looks very clean and the lay out is great. Everything was easy to find and the prices seem to be the same as other stores in the area. Our checker was nice. Overall this store is a great place to shop!

I really love going to and being a customer of Bel Air. The peope are so nice. The food is always well displayed. The fruits and vegetables are of top quality. I really like the way they have old fasioned service in bagging the groceries and helping you out to the car. I always enjoy talking to the employees. I cannot recommend Bel Air enough.

Only place I shop for groceries. Wish the natural foods selection was larger, but overall coverage is ok.

Just a few short years ago, I would have given the Bel Air chinese food 4 or 5 stars, because it was such a great deal.
Nowadays, it costs about $ 25 to feed our family of three… it used to cost only $ 15.
The «dinner box» that used to cost $ 4 is now $ 6…everything is way more expensive than it was before.
Nevertheless, when they have Peking Pork «on sale» ($ 5.99 per pound), I’ll stop in and buy a pound or two. Its da bomb…100% boneless BBQ pork in a very spicy sauce.
Nowadays, I’d say the Bel Air is OK, but I’d rather drive to Roseville and eat at Hong Kong Buffet or Homai Fusion and for the same amount of money eat a lot better and get better variety…
