Happy Wok

I went here to get takeout for my birthday a few days ago. The place looks a little shabby but the food was good. I just recently moved up here and was looking for a decent Chinese place and this seems to be a good one. We got quite a few things: Lemon chicken, general chicken, beef and broccoli, potstickers, pork fried rice, and chicken chow mein. All of it was very good. We especially enjoyed the chow mein. It only took about 15 – 20 minutes to get our food so the service was fast as well and the people were decently friendly. This will probably stay our go to Chinese place.

Hands down the best chinese food in Auburn, CA! Our favorites are sweet and sour pork, any chow mein and pot stickers, and cashew chicken. If we had to put it in order: 4. chow mein 3. cashew chicken 2. pot stickers 1. sweet and sour pork. The only problem, is it is way to expensive for us. We can’t eat here very often because its $ 40+ per visit. Otherwise, we LOVE it. We wish they had delivery too:/

I eat here at least once a week it is always the best, hot and fresh, service is great would definitely recommend anyone and everyone to stop here and enjoy lunch or dinner.

Food was ok. Ordered online and picked up. They forgot to give us 4 egg rolls that we ordered and also the spicy chicken wings weren’t spicy… Just plain ol wings. Kind of disappointed. Seems like the portions are much much smaller when you take out instead of dine in.

After trying a few VERY dissapointingnother Chinese spots in Auburn, we found this gem. We absolutely love their food and eat here about two to three times a month. Despite being creatures of habit we always are it a point to try something new each time we come. We are never disappointed and even found a new favorite dish!
We love their wor wonton soup (my favorite of all time, ever, from anywhere!), their pork fried rice is delicious. A surprise to me was how much I love their been chow mein, I’ve never ordered too many beef dishes.
Onto the entrees, the orange chicken is amazing all white meat juicy prices of love from the heavens above. The black bean chicken is fabulous and the asparagus chicken or baby bok choy chicken are ridiculously delicious but only available seasonally. One of our newest favorites is the spicy mandarin pork! Their veggie dishes are also tasty.
One thing that I love to get, are their baked pork buns (boa) mmmm and they remind me of my cheap eats college kids days.
We frequent for dinner but if you can try the lunch, they have several dim sum plates that are just enough and very inexpensive.
I would absolutely recommend this place to any true Chinese food lovers. If you think Panda is amazing food, you won’t know what to do with yourself in this place, it’s for a more refined palette that shopping mall Chinese food.
Did I mention that the staff always remembers us and the flavors we like, and they are helpful with suggestions for new things to try.
Mmmmm this is our favorite place to grab delicious food for sure.

We love this place! As a big group of vegetarians we especially appreciate the veggie chicken and veggie beef, however the crispy eggplant is awesome! We really appreciated the recommendation by our waiter of veggie general chicken and how many dishes we needed for our group. Prices as expected. I forgot to add that we love the vegetarian pot stickers, cannot find them elsewhere!

Tasty Chinese food, with big portions, fresh tasting chow and reasonable prices. Highly recommend stopping in if you’re in Auburn and wanting Chinese food.

I’ve been there before and enjoyed the restaurant, great food, fine service and decent prices. today I ordered take out and would give ten stars to the delicious bbq pork eggfuyung.

They have some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. Their service is great and the environment is very calming. The prices are amazing for what you get! I recommend getting the dinner specials if you are with a few people. General’s Chicken is so good! Like I said, this place is definitely worth going to.

This restaurant is the best. The people who work/​own it are awesome. The food is great. I recommend going here for Chinese food.

Lunch specials are a good deal and were available on Saturday too. I had vegetable deluxe and asked for it in a szechuan sauce and they were accommodating. It was delicious. Boyfriend ordered Happy Wok Special and really enjoyed it. He also ordered baked pork buns and REALLY enjoyed them. Waitress was kind. Although it is in strip mall (near McCallou’s), I like the ambience inside and the music they play is soothing. This was my third time there passing through the town. It is just off I-​80 exit.

The cashew chicken is wonderful. A little overpriced but delicious.

Just left Happy Wok very unhappy. Asked the waitress to tell me what was in the «white sauce» and after a failed attempt to convince me that it was not necessary to know anything but that it was the color white she then shrugged her shoulders after I explained to her that I needed to know the ingredients because of a food allergy. I politely thanked her and left the restaurant. I will not be eating there again.

DRIVER TRIED TO STEAL FROM ME. DON’T TRUST THESE PEOPLE! I ordered delivery from this place, said I would pay cash. The driver got here and told me the total was 69.99. That seemed excessively high but I was groggy so I grabbed my wallet, when I did not have enough for the food and tip in cash I told him I would call the restaurant and pay with my card. This is when he became nervous. He said he would call and asked for my card number. I told him id do it, when I called they told me my total was 49.99. I paid and let him leave before I called the restaurant and let them know their driver tried to STEAL FROM ME! They offered nothing didn’t even apologize. Make sure you pay in cash and see the receipt. I HAVE SECURITY CAMERAS WITH MICROPHONES. ILL POST THE VIDEO AFTER I ENHANCE THE SOUND SO YOU CAN WATCH AND HEAR THIS CROOK TRY TO STEAL FROM ME.

Best Chinese food period. Every dish is delicious! The crispy eggplant is my fave! Combo D lunch special is another favorite (General Chicken, fried rice, chow mein, fried prawn and soup or salad). Big juicy chunks of chicken, fresh veggies, nice portion sizes. Always excellent service and clean. Definitely give it a try!

Fast service, good food.
Sweet and sour is great. Kids couldn’t get enough. Orange chicken recipe is unique and very good. Lemon chicken was also a favorite.

I think they were just average food and service compared to my fav place in Rsvl Rose Garden.
