A great stop for the weary traveler. We stopped in on a quiet Saturday on our way from Iowa to Texas. We thoroughly enjoyed the Big-Mouth Brisket, the Pulled Chicken and the Cowboy Melt. Only negative… the brisket and chicken were a little dry, but remedied by the yummy spicy BBQ sauce. Best sides… baked beans and creamed corn. Macaroni and cheese pretty bland… skip it.

We have been here several times and they do have some great bbq. But they really choked tonight. They got very busy and just totally mishandled it. Ran out of a lot of things — but that’s understandable. But it took over an hour and a half just to get appetizers out! Unfortunately, they really failed under pressure here — primary rules being to warn folks when you’re really behind(they didn’t) and get some food out to keep people happy. They also refused to do substitutions when out of so many things which is very inappropriate. Wait staff tried very hard within all the kitchen and management dysfunctions.

We went to the BBQ and sat on the bar and has drinks and dinner. The bar tender Taylor was friendly, helpful and adorable. We’ll be back!

Best food in Auburn. Everything is simply amazing. It is a little pricier, but so worth it. The staff is friendly and attentive. Good options for people who don’t like BBQ and awesome salad selection.

I was happy with the food. I’m glad I came here instead of the franchise place in Falls City. The food was better and I got the chance to buy local.

We ate in Auburn by accident: we missed a turn, going south then east instead of east then south around Omaha. We went through some towns with posted populations as low as 24 before stopping for lunch in Auburn. Hickory Road BBQ doesn’t look special, but they have really good BBQ. My wife had two different meats, both excellent. The two sauces on the table complemented but did not over-power the taste of the meats. They have a nice selection of beers, including Sam Adams seasonal specials, but I was driving. If I am ever anywhere near there, I will go out of my way to eat there.

Some of THEBESTBBQ I’ve ever had. Rib platter w/sides were UNBELIEVABLE. The sauces were out of this world. Had one with a little Jalapeño in it and was nearly licking my fingers at the end. Passing through town and noticed Hickory Road, decided to stop in, and was so glad I did. Like I said, some of the absolute BEST out there. Way to go Hickory Road. Hope to make it back some day.

Had dinner while passing through town. We had corn nuggets to start — yum. Creamed corn goodness in fried nugget. Great with beer. BBQ salad with pulled pork and BBQ ranch dressing– really good. Chili — good spice and lots of meat. Cowboy melt-two grilled cheese sandwiches filled with brisket– great. Road Burger– good standard burger, OK fries. Ribs-good, tender, juicy. Accompanying corn cob was lame. Our server was knowledgeable and the app came out very fast. Great old brick building. Decent beer selection. Three kinds of BBQ sauce. Two were interesting, one was average. French fries were average. Coleslaw was average. This is a great place.

Great place to eat, came across on midwest balloon festival… Quite reluctant to order at first but taste great. Ribs reminded me of «singaporean pork dendeng» and omg so delicious…

We make Hickory Road BBQ a regular on our list of places to eat. They have a GREAT selection of beers on tap, including Blue Moon and Sam Adams. Their pulled pork is great and their BBQ salad is a nice change. My husband really enjoys their cheese burger. Ambiance is pleasant and the staff is top noch.

The sauces are the perfect trifecta of flavors. Original BBQ is super sweet, smokey, tangy. Stopped in randomly after finding it on Unilocal,we were redirected through town due to construction. Food was GREAT, highly recommend if you are in the area.

The food here is really good. The ribs and burgers are delicious. The portion sizes are large for what you pay for them and they have decent drink prices.

Auburn is a small town, but they have a real good BBQ restaurant. I had the ribs and chicken wings. The food here is out of this world. Something about how they cook the food here. The ribs were so tasty and tender. I would recommend them if you go. The chicken wings were as good as the ones a Buffalo Wild Wings. The bartenders are so funny. you will have a blast. They also have a cool Keno game. They also have Twisted Tea on tap. You will like the décor and food.

Just had a fabulous meal here. Totally agree that this is better than Bryant’s in KC. What a treasure in a delightful small town. Reasonably priced, «just right» portion size(for the hungry man!), outstanding service and an invitation to return that I don’t think I will be able to refuse next time I am on US75.

Best BBQ I have ever had, hands down. Better than Arthur Bryants and Gate’s in KC, better than Stubb’s in Austin, better than anything in Memphis. Excellent ribs, pulled pork, sides(BBQ beans, slaw, and tater salad !) and ice cold local micro brews to wash it all down. The sauce is great too with hot and original options with just the right amount of vinegary tang and sweet hot spice. I wish they would move to Colorado!
