I found Darin and Jumbo Giant from a friend who had some beautiful Canvas Prints of her children from Jumbo Giant in her house. I wanted to get some of my girls and as a bonus I could cover up the three 16″ windows in my room that let in light in the morning. I uploaded the pictures on the website and the prints showed up wrapped frame and all at my house. Darin knew I wanted to cover some windows so he even put a black protective backing on the back to protect the canvas and it acts as a black out for my room. The whole experience was fantastic and the quality of the prints is top notch. I couldn’t be happier.

Évaluation du lieu : 2 Sacramento, CA
First of all, I’m giving this place an extra star because the guy who owns it is very nice. This review is for Luster Paper prints only. Backstory: I was testing out different businesses for photo printing because Costco wasn’t cutting it anymore(their prints are too dark). Since I show and sell some of my photos, I wanted a higher quality print. I consulted a co-worker who is also a photographer and he recommended a few places, including Jumbogiant. I went online, uploaded 2 photos(8×10 is the smallest size Jumbogiant prints) and said I would pick them up in Auburn(to save the shipping cost). The pickup: On a Thurs. morning, I decided to drive to Auburn to pick up my prints. I called Jumbogiant the night before to get their hours and the voicemail said they were open M-F 10 – 6 and Sat. 10 – 2. I drove from Sacramento and arrived at 10:30am. Nobody was there. The business hours and phone number were displayed on the window, so I called the business number, but it went to voicemail. So, I went to a nearby business and asked if they knew where the guy was. I was told that the Jumbogiant business owner, Darin, had taken the business over from the previous owner. Darin is a photographer and is sometimes out on photo shoots DURINGBUSINESSHOURS. I was given his cell phone number and called. Sure enough, he was in Foresthill on a shoot and could make it back in 30 min. Since I had a meeting back in Sacramento, I couldn’t wait. Darin apologized and said he would send me the prints. The arrival: Within a couple days, my prints arrived in a cardboard tube. I expected something flat in order to easily mat, so that was interesting. The 2 prints were rolled tightly in brown paper. When I unrolled them, the first thing I noticed was that both prints had the corners jaggedly cut off. It looked like they had been rolled in the brown paper first and then the paper was cut(along with my photos). I immediately called Darin and told him the situation. He apologized and said he would reprint the photos. Afterward, I also noticed that the prints themselves had dark lines throughout, indicating to me that the printer either needed the ink changed or the printer heads cleaned. The fact that I would be sent such poor quality prints was unfortunate. I decided to wait for the 2nd set of prints to see if the striation issue was fixed. The second arrival: The new prints arrived again in a tube, but were not tightly rolled this time. These photos were not cut and there were no printing lines, but it looked like Darin had gone out of his way to make up for the previous problem. These prints were oversaturated with color and had purposely been adjusted. Darin had also sent me an email saying he would give me a free 16×24 print to make up for the previous problems. That’s a very nice offer, but I decided not to take it because there’s no guarantee what my pictures will look like based upon the drastically different sets of prints I received. In the end, I told my co-worker that Jumbogiant was now under new ownership and he was shocked. Overall, even though the owner is very nice and accommodating, it doesn’t make up for poor printing, adjusted prints(without my request for such adjustments), or not keeping your posted business hours. Since this seems to be a one-man show, it would probably be best to have business hours by appointment. I’ve also found another photo printing company that is less expensive, has free 2-day shipping, and provides better quality, consistent prints.
