I went the clubhouse restaurant and the service plus food was much improved. I had the NY steak and it was cooked perfect and the service was attentive. They had a wine pairing recommendation and the quality of the recommendation was excellent. Recommendations: 1. when the sun sets pull up the blinds so the customers can see the wonderful view. It’s the little things that count. 2. The phony battery powered candles are a joke. First, they are never turned on plus it really makes the place seem cheap! Get a real candle or an oil burning light. It would really make the atmosphere feel warmer. 3. Table cloths for the dining room table would be a nice touch. 4. The TVs in the bar should be replaced with double the size. I just read the recent treasurers report and our community is losing on the LOP food $ 100 per year per household on the food. I also just spent $ 450 for 4 people at Carpe Vino in auburn for dinner. My point is that if you improve the overall quality of the food, service, drink our community WILL spend more and the food and beverage will turn a profit. I have now seen some improvement but more is needed. The management needs to focus more attention to the details and make the experience even better. Me and my friends would spend many thousands more for food and beverage vs. going to GV, Nevada City or Auburn but the LOP food is just OK. In summary, keep improving and more residents will spend more. Management needs to focus on the details by creating a great customer experience top to bottom. Great restaurants just don’t happen. The manager needs to continuously try to make things even better… hire a consultant. All the parts are there but not the ability to put it all together yet.

**This review is for the residential aspect of LOP.** All these years of traveling back and forth to Nevada, always wondering why would a person want live in an area so isolated, undeveloped and rugged –man, was I WRONG!!! There is so much to Auburn then what you see off I-80, it’s mind blowing! Lake of the Pines is a strictly enforced gated residential area with homes built as early as the 60’s, to houses being built today, to amazing flips, as well as a country club with a golf course and lake. You need to know someone who lives there to be able to partake in the natural beauty. Deer roam the area, people watching. Residence always sharing a smile or wave, driving golf carts to get to A and B is the norm and the pure quiet of just being able to sit and watch a sunrise/sunset is why people move to this area. I GETIT! It’s truly like being on a mini getaway from the hustle and bustle of your everyday 9 – 5. We did not try the restaurant during our short stay but we did get to whack the heck out of some golf balls at the driving range.(Tip: $ 5 for 50 balls and you can use one of their clubs, they have an honor system.) Can’t wait to come back…

I lived in LOP for about 20 years. My whole life pretty much. I loved where I grew up. My dad passed away four months ago from a car accident by LOP. On fathers day we spread his ashes in the lake he loved so much. I am getting married and would have loved to have it at the club house. LOP is so sentimental to me especially since my dad is gone now. My mom has called to set up appointments to go over wedding packages etc and who ever runs the wedding events has not called my mom back and she has called 3 different times. His assistant called and said he’d call her later that day… never did. So, I am extremely upset he doesn’t care to call someone back about a wedding. I’m upset I will not have my big day at such a meaningful place to me. So unprofessional and so rude in my eyes.

The food is great and the customer service is always good. I love coming up to eat at the sports lounge and clubhouse because both have a really nice view of the lake.

Went here to celebrate a birthday last night. The service sucks! And there was barely anyone in the place. The main lady forgot to get our drinks and then went to get it and took over 15 minutes to bring it to us. The waiters, who were just kids, had no idea what they were doing. We asked them for bread only one came. The food came but there were four extra entrees made. The food was great! And the music was great are the only pros. When we paid they did it wrong, a certain amount was supposed to be on the credit cards and we were supposed to get cash back. Nope no $ 20 back they just charged the cards less. Thank you so much for that. :(They need to fire their whole staff and start over.

Have some friends who live here and love it. I visited and ended up going to dinner at the clubhouse in the bar area. Good service, good food and good company! Lake of the Pines is great — it has everything you need located in the neighborhood and access to a beautiful lake. This is a gated community so if you are visiting you need to be on the list.

This review is for the guard shack personnel. I went there specifically to see an open house on Sunday, August 30th. I drove 1 hour each way. The girl in the guard shack was extremely curt and entirely unhelpful. She said she new nothing of an open house and we’d have to be sponsored to get in. She offered no further assistance and we were turned away. No way would I consider moving into that community and subject my visitors to that each time they came to visit.

Pretty good for not having to leave the lake. Baked potato was just warm, steak was kind of fatty. Nice view. Sit outside for less noise.

This review is specifically for the Sports Lounge. They recently resumed lunch service here. However the bar and the lunch counter are now separated. You walk up and order off the board of offerings. there is a fair selection of hamburgers and sandwiches, that come with onion rings, cole slaw, soup or fries, all at the same price(Around $ 7 – 9). Unlimited fountain drinks or bar drinks are available. They will deliver it and wherever you are in the building whether it be the bar or the driving range. A good choice for this area. 11am — 3pm.

This review is for the Magnolia Pointe Grill. And specifically for their home made potato chips. Unbelievable. Awesome. Glad we went there before my protein and liquor diet kept me off of carbs. ;) The rest of the food was fine, but the chips were heavenly. And I don’t mean french fries.

Great food at good prices with a gorgeous view. I just wish their hours were more clearly advertised. It is hit and miss finding this place open or knowing what food they are serving. I would highly recommend calling ahead. PS I agree with the previous poster in that Northridge Restaurant is not worth your time! YUCK

Beautiful place in Lake Of The Pines. Cannot believe people would choose the God Awful Northridge Resturaunt over this little GEM! Menu has something for everyone. So far we have had the burgers Yum! On a pretzel bun. YESPLEASE! The French Dip. Melt in your mouth. The wings. Holy Wings Batman! They are huge and delish! Can’t forget the beer. it was cold served in a chilly glass and cheep! Bartender Tammy was super nice & always checking in on us. Overall a great experience! We will absolutely be back!

This is a great place for young families and retired people to live. It’s a great place to grow up, I grew up here and am now able to live here again and raise my kids in this unique community. The lake is the best part of Lake of the Pines(LOP)! It’s great for swimming, skiing, and incredible for large mouth bass fishing. There are plenty of parks for kids and always friends to play with whenever you go down to the main beach. The Sports Lounge offers a great Sunday breakfast buffet!

Blah, this place is going to hell in a hand basket. I don’t know how they’re still afloat. They run this place bass ackwards. It’s run by a bunch of older adults who are very out of touch with the way the world is today. Ever since I can remember I have dreaded having to go into Lake of the Pines. I still have that feeling every time I have to visit anyone in the lake.
