The food was wonderful! Cooked just as we ordered. The service was very good, attentive but not smothering. Will definitely go back.

Caveat emptor: We never tasted the food. My party of five looked forward to our first visit to Maestro 2300. I have my dining favorites in Auburn(hello, Amsterdam Café!) as my son graduated from Auburn and is now living here. He said Maestro 2300 is his boss’ frequent dining experience, so we decided to give it a try. We made reservations for 8:00PM and arrived at approximately 7:45PM. The hostess explained our table was not yet ready as there was another party finishing their dinner there. We were told we could wait in the bar area and we easily found seats. After checking with the nice hostess a couple of times, my husband was told the other party had not yet vacated the table reserved for us. After having waited for a total of 45 minutes, which was 30 minutes past our reservation time, the manager finally introduced himself and offered to allow us to order from the full menu where we were seated in the bar. We were not pleased with that settlement as we had been anticipating the full experience. We left and walked right into Amsterdam Café and enjoyed a wonderful meal where we felt welcome. I am a frequent user of Open Table and wish I could warn others about our reservations not being honored at this restaurant. I’ve never had issues with reservations not being handled in a professional manner until this experience. I will be visiting Auburn often in the foreseeable future and this restaurant will not be in my «must visit» dining places. I wish I could have tasted the selections and reviewed them; however, we were turned off before we could give them a fair chance because of the way our reservation was handled.

The beef carpaccio is a must! It is beautifully prepared and the fried capers on top are sinfully good. If you’re eating at the bar, definitely try the filet burger. It’s tender and juicy – full of flavor. I left off one star because service is incredibly slow!

One of my favs in the area, maybe my fav. Found nothing average. Loved the creative stretches on the menu. Very good alcohol selection. Comfortable setting, on the quiet side, which, for me, is a big plus. Knowledgeable and energetic service, another big plus. Will give it another go while here this trip, and also my other big ***** here in the A-O metro, and decide which I like better. I never expected to find places of this quality here — think Shoney’s, Morrison’s, Pasquali’s, Andy’s & Jack’s. This place now abounds with good eats. Thanks!

A few weeks ago my son and I were in Auburn for a football game and all the usual places were booked, so our friends from Auburn suggested that we try Maestro 2300 — are we glad they made the suggestion. First, they went with us for some great company. Second, the food and service was excellent. Lastly, our«guests» actually treated us to the meal — what a treat! Others have noted that the parking is no problem and I agree, we scooted into a spot without a problem(also, avoided all the hassle of traffic downtown). Kind of worried a bit as we approached the restaurant as it’s in a strip-shop mall and wondered what kind of restaurant would it be, but once inside my worries were no longer. The décor of the place is not over the top, but upscale enough to make you feel that you are eating out(and not at Red Lobster!). We ordered a bottle of Malbec from the extensive wine list, and it was priced about as one would expect for buying it out at a restaurant. As we reviewed the menu for dinner I noted that the list of items was relatively short, but just assumed the kitchen focused on preparing those items very well(rather than a 10 page menu of items that aren’t prepared all that well). So our table had the almond pear salad(most all of us) and it was excellent, the pear, almonds, and vinaigrette went well together. For dinner, we had the seared duck breast(prepared just right and very tasty with the goat cheese), the grouper(which my friend said he really enjoyed), and the grilled ribeye(prepared to perfection at medium rare with excellent accompaniments). The service was excellent, just the right amount of attention without trying to be our«best friend.» We really enjoyed our experience at Maestro 2300 and next time in Auburn will definitely go back!

Deffinitely one of the top restaurants in Auburn and can stand up well to any restaurant in a major city. The locatrion is vary convenient and they have plenty of parking. I had a bit of a hard time finding the restaurant but the staff was super friendly The restaurant is a little hard to find so you may need to call and ask for directions, or maybe it was just because Google maps send me astray(apple mapos was fine). I made reservations for 6 and the staff was superfriendly and welcoming. They have a good selection of wine by the glass and the dailyu specials were superb. I had a business meeting and my host requested to have a risotto appetizer made into a dinner size entrée and they complied. Their website also indicates that they have live music, so I’ll have to check that out. Overall a great experience.

This place is overrated and overpriced for the type of food it offers to the public. My guess is that there isn’t much competition to «fancy» in a small country town of Auburn, and people do not have much option to choose from. Hence, they are still in business probably. Appetizer: I asked for tomato bisque, and at 7:30PM, there was no more tomato bisque. Poor mismanagement by the cooking staff. Then, my business colleague and I ordered a caesar salad and beef carpaccio. The beef carpaccio was overly salted and overly done with lime veggies in the middle that you couldn’t even tell you were eating beef. It was so thinly sliced that it was not worth price. My caesar salad was terrible. Dressing was not creamy, and it was more like a vinegrette. HEREISTHEKICKER, I think I got sick because of their salad. I started to throw up in the parking lot after dinner, and I saw the salad parts coming out from me. Main course: I ordered the«famous» and«popular» flat iron angus steak. People who are raving about this dish needs a reality check. What I got was a mountain bed of soggy french fries with maybe 3oz of meat. The entire yellow yolk from an egg was enough to cover the meat portion of my meal. On top of that, my dish was cold. My business colleague ordered the medallion, and his dish was cold too. We both got cold dishes, and he sent his back, and they reheated his food. For me, I was too sick by then to even ask to reheat mine. Wine: Waiters have no clue on any of the wines. If you are going to be serving at a restaurant with all these wine, you should know thing or two about them rather than going to your manager for every little question. Waiters at Olive Garden knows more about wines than these waiters. A table next to mine complained about their food too before we got our food, and I was thinking maybe they are too sensitive. No, I was wrong. This place sucks at what they do. I spent throwing up for the rest of the night and miserable for the next 24 hours. Our dinner came out to be 200 dollars with tip, and it was the worst dining experience in Auburn/Opelika I have had so far while coming to this town for the past 2 years on business frequently.

This is one of my favorite sit-down places in Auburn. The food is great and the service is great. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the drinks are always good. The menu is always filled with delicious entrees and the starters are a must have. There is plenty of seating although they do get busy on weekends. They have a great bar space if you end up waiting on a table. Eat well, drink well, and be happy… Cheers!

Like most restaurants in Auburn/Opelika, it is definitely over priced. But one gets used to it(over pricing) gradually. I dined here when it was first opened. I just ordered the so called tapas. Being a huge fan of tapas and having had the opportunity to eat in really good Tapas places(of course not in Auburn), I decided not to dine here unless I really have to. So next time when I had to dine here, I ordered a grilled fish from the entrée menu. And guess what? I fell sick. And it was not only me. My colleague who had exactly the same thing(on the same night) was sick too. The food is just ordinary here. Those who care for ambiance, are not too picky about food(or not sensitive about taste), relate«fine» dining with anything other than the food itself :), and sort of like too salty & strong(not so subtle) tasting food should not have problem with Maestro.

The dry aged beef wasn’t aged at all. The chef claimed it was aged 30 days(per our server), it was as fresh as a steak can be. I’ve dry aged my own beef and eaten it at other establishments on several occasions. Other than the beef there were no real problems but nothing to get excited about either. I thought this was a little overpriced for what was on my plate. Our tab(for 2 ppl) was $ 250 w/tip and I walked away feeling a little ripped off.

One of the best restaurants in the Opelika/Auburn area! Southern twist on Mediterranean style food. Never ordered anything I didn’t love. The menu changes frequently to keep up with foods in season. Amazing service and extensive wine list. Music in the bar area on Friday evenings, also make for fun Friday nights. I have hosted several private parties here in their private dining room and Opus room. A must if you are in the area.

This restaurant has everything you could want for a nice dinner out — nice ambiance and attention to detail, delicious gourmet offerings, and an excellent wine list, without being too expensive. My only complaint was that my fried duck over chorizo orzo was a bit too salty.

We went here twice in June 2013. The 1st time we ate on the patio — the food and service was great. The Lavender Breeze cocktail was refreshing and delicious. We went back Father’s Day weekend and ate appetizers in the bar and listened to live music. The Lavender Breeze was still good but they only had ingredients to make one more — we got the last one for that evening. Their food menus change often depending on the season. All the food that we have tried has been yummy — no complaints.

Maestro is my favorite date restaurant in the Auburn/Opelika area. It’s sometimes to nice to get away from the hustle of Auburn University and escape to Moores Mill. I cannot complain about the food or service at all. However, I do not enjoy the seating here on most occasions. We usually get sat in a two top that is way too close to the neighboring table, it’s rather awkward to say the least. Takes reservations and please, leave the children at home.

Gorgeous interior and incredible service who understand this is a college town so they seem completely unbothered that prices may concern you when you’re asking what meal is the best value. You won’t need to stop by for fast food. They aren’t stingy on the complimentary bread. They keep refilling your basket like it’s their goal. The Pork Tenderloin Scaloppine was salty but amazing and the cabbage complimented the gigantic slices of pork well. This dish will fill you up. The Painted Hills Flat Iron Steak was incredible too with the soft, juicy steak. I was so sad when it was finished.

Very impressive for a small town like Auburn. My fiancé and I have visited several times. Their tapas are great, especially the one with the mix of Spanish cheeses and meats. The meal was very good and the staff is very attentive. The only minus is the place is obviously nice and after your meal you expect decent desert. However, I think they give up in the desert department after all the work goes into the preparation of the first courses. Very good overall, and great for such a small town. Go grab dessert elsewhere though.

I had lunch here with some of my co-workers a few days ago. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. I will have to eat some of my words about the quality of food in this awesome town(no pun intended). Somebody else was picking up the tab(more specifically a company) so it was a perfect time to indulge. The whole table got an appetizer. Can’t remember what it was since it was not on the menu and was specially made for us but it was good. It had flatbreads with arugula and some sort of meat that I picked out. It was delicious!!! I had the pasta carbonara sans bacon and cleaned my plate. I couldn’t finish the bread pudding I got for dessert. Because I was stuffed but it was yummy. Most everybody else on the table(about eight of us) had clean plates too. Our server was attentive, filled our cups and took away dirty plates quickly. You could tell that you were in a high class restaurant. It was a wonderful experience, better cause I didn’t have to pay for it. I’m thinking about coughing up some money and going to enjoy dinner there sometime soon.

Rarely does a pc of steak hit my plate in a restaurant. For obvious reasons, such as the BEST steak I’ve ever had is a recipe, cooked in my own home, from Men’s Journal, circa 19 something — a fine filet is not marinated, only lightly seasoned with salt pepper and olive oil, seared in a cast iron skillet on the stove top then put in a blazing hot oven for the remainder of the time it takes to get it to your favorite temp! However, at Maestro2300 last night, steak hit my plate, as well as everyone else’s at the table. And it was FANTASTIC! Wow! Cooked to perfection on all fronts. The set up I chose was white beans, grilled fennel, san marzano tomatoes, bacon and Parm & Rosemary aioli which was a great bed for the Grilled Creekstone Filet Medallions($ 29). The rest of the table had a strip servers with a sweet potato gratin and greens($ 29), and a flat iron served with sweet potato fries and an egg with a bacon sherry vinaigrette($ 22). We started with an eclectic array of wonderful plates to share — although I didn’t really do much sharing because I had the Taste of Spain($ 10), which served an ample portion of serrano ham, aged proscuitto, a few slices of manchego, macronas, olives and some really fabulous pear chutney(would YOU have shared?). Yes, it was a «shareable» size, but … cheese, serrano and prosciutto? NO. Not sharing! Thankfully, we had one dish for the table — the mussels — to share. For the most part, the mussels I’ve had are cooked in a delicate white wine and butter broth. These were PEIs cooked in white wine and garlic sauce with a little tomato broth. VERYTASTY($ 8 — steal of the night for sure)! And that broth was perfect for«sopping» with the crusty grilled bread from my appetizer plate. Dinner was fabulous and we paired some of our friend, Dave Miner’s cab with it, which is always a treat. If you find yourself in Auburn, Alabama with no idea what to do for dinner, try local, Andrew Harris’ place. It’s really a FIND in the unassuming culinary-rich town in East Alabama.(more of Auburn’s dining delights to come — I’m really enjoying my visits there from the food perspective!)

When a restaurant pays close attention to the drinks served in the bar, the food will have to be amazing. My experience here began in the late summer when they began to offer a fussy cocktail called a Sezerac. While my love for the drink will have to be chronicled elsewhere, Maestro 2300 makes them and many other specialty cocktails(Basil Hayden Perfect Manhattan, and Cucumber Smash are delightful examples) with such consistency, that they should be applauded. From the cocktail menu, I ventured out into their extraordinary appetizer menu where they offer Mussels, Artisanal Cheese Plate, Sicilian Style Flatbread, and my personal favorite, Taste of Spain that includes Serrano Ham, Prosciutto, Manchego Cheese, Marcona Almonds, and Pear Marmalade. Entrée options include Ribeye, Filet, Duck, Seafood Paella with Chicken, but my absolute favorite has been the Grilled Lamb Chop. Go forth and proceed to order boldly, and remember to always tip and treat your wait staff well!
