So so yummy you guys! Stopped in quickly for some nachos and they were amazing! Tons of cheese and they were high quality chips. The only bad things was I left my wallet there, credit cards and all. LOL! Will be back soon to pig out!!!

Good burrito. I don’t go to Chipotle, and Mexican is not my favorite cuisine, but I will eat here every other week or so if I want tacos or a burrito. I *really* appreciate the cilantro-free options for salsa and rice. They also serve beer, which is nice.

I still lived in Auburn when they first opened. Went today while I was in town visiting. The food quality was the same as it was when they first opened! Delicious burritos. Way better than chipotle, qdoba, or moe’s. The food tasted fresh and the meat was on point. I wish we had something like this in the capital region!

Rip off of Chipotle, except their chicken and guacamole are not even close to being as good as Chipotle. Definitely much better taste than Moe’s and good overall.

It’s good for upstate NY. Better than chipotle and I appreciate their cholula collection and fresh ingredients. But I have to stop looking for real Mexican food in Upstate. They only offer hard shell«corn» tortillas and soft flour tortillas. No real maza tortillas. So if you’re looking for real Mexican this isn’t the place.

Towns like Auburn sort of get forgotten now that the Thruway drives you around and far away from the old route(5 and 20) to Buffalo. Which is why once in a while it’s a good idea to see some of these towns… gems abound and this place is one of them. Had a pollo burrito with cilantro rice and pintos. Spicy salsa verde and some extra fresh jalapenos as well. If you are in Skaneateles or on the way to Ithaca well worth a lunch/dinner here.

Food is great! We ordered Taco salad w Chicken & Burrito w Chicken — ingredients are always fresh and flavorful at Mesa Grande. Young man working tonight wasn’t as helpful or friendly as Mesa Grande staff are 99.9% of the time.

This place is basically the same as a Chipotle except locally owned and committed to using local ingredients whenever possible. It is a really, really clean restaurant. The food is always delicious and always fresh. I like that they have Coke products in glass bottles.

Better than chipotle. Place is clean and modern in addition to bring well lit. Ingredients are fresh and portions are fairly sized. I have had a few different kinds of meat in both burritos and burrito bowls and they are all delicious. Staff was friendly as well and location is great, right in downtown Auburn. Anytime I am in the area I stop by and you should as well.

Dropped in for a quick lunch. Similar to Chipotle in menu and décor. Loved the food. Good value, and they have beer! Bathroom was clean and tidy. I had the salad with carnitas and my friend had the burrito bowl. My salad dressing was yummy. My son had the burrito and gave it a thumbs up with only one small quibble: they had rolled it the«wrong«way so instead of mixing the ingredients they stayed separate, hmmmm! Would go again if we are in town for the next Geneva Music Festival.

I would do terrible, terrible things for even a chance of winning a lifetime supply of Mesagrande. I have an obsession with this place, and it’s literally the only place in Auburn that I have feelings for.

3 ½ stars… Best quick taco place I’ve been to in the upstate area. I’m a bit of a Mexican food snob coming from Texas. Not greasy, fresh ingredients, and cheerful people behind the counter. The negative comments were untrue… Nothing dirty about this place. It’s clearly pretty new and well kept. Being that I work close by at the community college… I’ll be back.

Some of the best Mexican style food to be had in the area. Thick, authentic chips and savory ingredients make this one of my favorite restaurants. They have reasonable prices. I highly recommend.

Absolutely the best mexican food around! You can get FRESHLY made food fast to go or you can enjoy the sleek, modern and CLEAN atmosphere. To top it off the drinks are amazing, I loved the wine slushies!

The food was good, I will admit that… but the experience was gross. dirty…the food looked as though it had been sitting in the same pan from two days ago. Not the most attentive employees either.

Clearly ripped off Chipotle for their ideas and design. Employees didn’t listen to requests(light sour cream, a LITTLE cheese) and were not at all friendly. Eh, it’s fast food don’t expect more?

I debated on giving this 3 or 4 stars and I’m going with my gut. Going with 4. The barbacoa — shredded beef, that’s dry rubbed and then smoked — might be one of the best burrito fillings in CNY(granted, there’s not much competition in these parts, but still…). Actually, most of the meat fillings are good, but I usually gravitate towards the shredded ones as they tend to be a little more tender. Solid salsas too. I’m a sucker for pico de gallo(in general), but the chipotle salsa is not a bad option either. It’s cafeteria style and quick service. They also have deserts like flan(which I have yet to try) and Mexican Coke in glass bottle form. Their strongest suit though is their consistency after every visit and their quality of produce and ingredients. All and all, definitely worth a visit.

Trying to find some good Mexican food, I stumbled upon Mesa Grande in downtown Auburn by happenstance. I was disappointed by this place, since it looks like it is trying hard to be a hip Chipotle, but fails miserably. I decided to order some food anyway, and had a quesadilla with carnitas. It was OK, but not terrible filling or tasty either.

Fresh, fast, cheap! Get the burrito bowl! The food was actually one of the best Mexican places I’ve ever seen anywhere in the East. I love Mexican so this actually is saying a lot. I try Mexican all the time and all over the country. The Margarita here was also surprisingly decent for a place this cheap. Impressive.

Ok, if customers stop in an expect this place to be Chiptole… it’s not! It is so much better!!! I admit when I walked in and saw it’s modern décor, I thought it would be a typical new-american type Mexican food. I tried the burrito bowl, and it was amazing. All fresh ingredients and the hot sauce is actually hot. If you are ever in Auburn, and need a Mexican food fix. This is your place!!!
