This may be a hangover recovery spot for students, but in terms of food, it’s just ok. The chili tastes like Hormel, straight out of the can. The meatball sub was the highlight, but with small portions. For the price, I guess reasonable. I could see watching a game and drinking a beer there, with a convenient snack bar inside. As for a restaurant, I wouldn’t call it that.

Always loved this place but very disappointed today. Food OK but shouldn’t cost nearly $ 22 for an adult and child to eat lunch. May have to change the signature sandwich to the momma’s «tough» love. Goodbye Momma G, you’ve lost a 30 year customer

Its ok but pricey. There are better sub options and its easy to make your own nachos at home. Not a place I frequent.

What a waste of money!!! All we wanted was a true deli sandwich in lieu of fast food. I ordered a turkey sandwich with provolone, lettuce and mayo. The lettuce was wilted and the mayo was hot. The sandwich was completely over steamed(I have never been given a steamed sandwich). My grandsons sandwich was so over steamed it was mushy. Sadly my son’s sandwich was a complete disappointment. Don’t call yourself a «Deli» unless you serve the food typically served in a real deli. Also the cookies were stale.

At the end of the day it is really just a moderately soggy and borderline overpriced sandwich. I like the«nachos» and the cheap beer just fine, but their sandwiches really leave alot to be desired.

We ate here last night after finishing up our engagement pics. Their sandwiches are so fresh. I had one called ‘Mama’s Love’(I think). Good prices and great location. Just wish they served wine hehe ;)

— The Momma’s on Longleaf… one of many in Auburn, but this one’s the best. Of all of the Momma G’s in Auburn/Opelika, this one’s my favorite. Right down the street from a few of Auburn’s main apartment complexes, this provides a quick place to get a steamed sandwich. They also have a decent beer selection, this particular one on Longleaf providing beer on tap as well as university growlers. Beer towers are also available, and it’s located right along a Tiger Transit route, so students won’t be tempted to drive drunk. They can oversteam their subs at times, but better that than understeamed, which can result because of some of the older Momma G’s and their older steamers. This one’s also a bit quieter than the other’s, though not the quietest. Good selection of steamed subs, with Momma’s Chips on the side. Yes, they’re Doritos with pepper jack and jalapeño on top, but overall a nice side to have. Overall, a good place for a quick steamed sub lunch! ~~~ Happy eating! :)

There are a lot of options when it come to subs. Momma Goldbergs Deli should be near the top of your list. The option to build your own is a unique and welcome feature. I had Momma’s Love«all the way» and my only complaint is that it was a little soggy and hard to handle. The amount of meat and the flavor were both above average. The reuben was very tasty. They also offer a build your own salad which looks terrific… loads of ingredients and it’s huge. Parking and seating are a little limited, but they seem to keep things moving pretty well.

I really wanted to like this more. We stopped in Auburn for the night when headed to Florida. We saw Mama Goldbergs and it looked interesting. On our way back through town we stopped for lunch. It was just ok. I’m thinking this is the type of place you love because a) you’ve been going there forever and associate the food with good times and good memories or b) you find a menu item you really like and you stick with it. Kids and hubby all ordered sandwiches. They were all ok. Nothing special at all. Honestly, steamed sandwiches are great when you immediately open the foil, but in a few short minutes the bread starts to get pretty soggy and pruney. The highlight of the trip was my salad –as I imagine any salad there would be. The ability to pick your own toppings, dressing and have it tossed for you is awesome. If I lived near here I can see visits to Mama Goldbergs just for salads(see b above). Overall the visit was pricey. Roughly $ 30 for lunch with two adults and two kids meals. Kids meals do not include drinks, so they just had water.

I have loved their steamed hoagies since I was a student at Auburn 30 years ago. It takes about 5 minutes to assemble and steam your sandwich, though, so don’t expect that the food will magically appear before you pay. I’ve stood in line for up to 30 minutes while waiting on one of these mouth-watering sandwiches.

It was VERY new when I came here. I’m sure the smell of paint has been replaced by smells of awesome food now…

This is my 2nd visit to the Auburn campus for work and I was already looking forward to visiting Momma Goldbergs again on the drive there. When my coworkers and I saw this new location, we decided to check it out. The space is much larger, the building is newer and cleaner(as expected), and the whole place looked/felt like it got a «chain restaurant» makeover. Whether that’s a good thing or bad would be up to you. We ordered 2 Mama’s Love($ 5 each), 1 Beef & Cheese($ 5), and of course Mama’s Nachos with jalapenos. Everything was deeelish as usual, especially the soft, slightly chewy, steamed sandwich bun. I would also recommend eating the nachos first because once it starts cooling down and the cheese solidifies, it basically becomes one giant nacho chip(which is fine if you don’t plan on sharing anyway). Be prepared to take a nap after a visit to Mama G’s.
