6÷18÷2015: I took my Dodge Diesel 2500 in for a fuel filter change, transmission oil and filter change, and front brakes. The cost was significantly less than the dealership and they did an awesome job. They finished everything on time as well.
4÷22÷14: I have been trying to find a company to service my diesel truck for years, other than the dealerships. I finally gave Pep Boys a try. They saved my about $ 800.00 from a quote I got from the Dodge dealership in Renton. I have taken my truck there for another repair more recently with great results as well. I feel they are ethical and priced fairly. I pray that they are the ‘go-​to’ guys from now on for me. I have been disappointed so many times. But these guys seem to be the real deal.

I took my Supercharged Xterra to Pep Boys over a month ago to get my spark plugs changed. They stated they changed them, but found another issue that apparently needed to be addressed — O2 sensor. They had to take my supercharger off to change the sensor… when doing that they completely drained all the fluid out of it by tipping it upside down (which you CANNOT do), dropped a bolt in one of my cylinders among other misc «fixes» they attempted but FAILED COMPLETELY breaking my engine even more! And sent me home after paying $ 700! They said there was a rattle in my engine but not to worry. HA! Got it in to the Nissan dealership, they stated my entire engine would need to now be replaced because of there «fixes»! On top of that, only ½ of the spark plugs were changed! (see photos) THEY CHARGED FOR A SERVICE THEY DIDN’T PROVIDE, PRETTY SURE THAT’S ILLEGAL!
Now, Pep Boys has admitted fault and want to just total out my Xterra, even though I was PROMISED a complete fix! But was offered $ 3,000 LESS than what the vehicle is actually worth. They compared a non-​supercharged vehicle to my supercharged vehicle and called it a day. Unacceptable. I tried to call them — they will no longer pick up the phone (I’m sure they have caller ID) and blocked my emails, so now I can no longer communicate with the claims rep. CLASSY!
This is STILL unresolved and is now going on 2 months. I have to continue to borrow cars from friends and pay for taxi’s to get to work. Thank you Pep Boys for your great customer service and willingness to get issues resolved as I would just like to you go by Washington State Law when totaling out a vehicle. I guess that is too much to ask.

7 months later… Finally received a settlement check. yesterday. Had to hire a lawyer & only settled because I got sick of the fight. 7 MONTHS!

Nick is the guy that always treats me right when I come in there. They go out of their way to do the job right the first time. I went in to get an oil change and they made me such a good deal on tires that I couldn’t pass it up as well. Want to be treated right? Then come here.

I was quoted a new starter price at Pep Boys for about $ 570. It was lowered to $ 390 after I showed the manager a $ 410 quote from another shop. Their new starter would not turn over consistently several weeks afterwards, then about 55 days after being installed, the new starter Pep Boys installed would not work. Pep Boys looked at it and told me my flywheel was damaged and I needed to pay an additional $ 1,100 for a new flywheel but the starter was still under their 90 day warranty which I thought was for 12 months/12,000 miles. I took my car elsewhere and paid for a new flywheel and MORE MONEY for a new starter. as I did not want to deal with them anymore. They did not even offer a 30% discount for my troubles which would have made me agree to a flywheel replacement and I would not have found out later their starter most likely ruined my flywheel. They would not replace their damaged starter saying it would just be damaged by my damaged flywheel but I could have had the flywheel replaced at another shop if they were willing to replace their damaged starter. The manager said I already incurred 1 hour’s worth of labor for them to tell me my flywheel was damaged. I was told they should have looked at my flywheel for damage before installing a starter.
I was told by professionals there was a 90% chance Pep Boy’s new starter ruined my flywheel and a 10% chance my old flywheel ruined Pep Boys new starter. This shop is deceptive because it is clean and the workers have an upbeat,.professional aura but they will not admit to faulty work and will offer no discount and no solution other than to charge more money to fix what their parts destroyed. I did call their 800 number and the 800 number got me in touch with the local shop and 4 months later, a resolution was offered and I am happy with it.
I disputed the charge with my credit card company and the credit card company ultimately ruled against me because I disputed the charge long after 60 days of the repair and also because Pep Boys disputed my dispute so I could not get a refund through my credit card company. The credit card company ruled against me even though I showed them a bill for a new starter installed and paid for at another shop a mere 65 days after Pep Boys put in a starter.
Go for an oil change or maybe tires but do not get serious work done here. I was out $ 390 until the 800 number people got involved to remedy a starter that went bad in 55 days and a probably damaged my flywheel.
Call the Pep Boys 800 # if you have a problem.

The gentlemen at Pep Boys in Auburn are amazing. We own old cars and know they need service. Well, on the way to pick one up, the other one stalled. The guys at Pep Boys ran down and towed us back to their shop!
What a relief.
This isn’t the only time they have stood out, but certainly one of the best. They continue to give only the best even when they are busy and they usually are super busy.
We are grateful to all of the guys there and their manager George McCann.
If you have to choose… choose Pep Boys.

On may 29^th I dropped of my truck for diagnosis at active auto repair off of auburn way n two days later I was called and was told both fuel tank filters neede to be replaced at the cost of 697.00. I freaked out that was my whole disability check so I called Jared at pep boys in auburn WA on 8^th street se I was so upset I was crying he had asked what was wrong and I had told him about my experience with active auto, then Jared had told me to call1800pep boys for a pep boys tow that I was to bring it to him and he would take very good care of me and that he was so sorry I was treated like that he diagnosed the problem for me and found that it was only only one fuel filter in the gas tank total cost out the door 301. Dollars thank god for Jared pep boys he really saved me although it have no more disability money I know next time I need anything done on my vehicle or hear of any one else in need of repairs I will only send them to Jared I now consider myself a life long customer thank you Jared from the bottom of my heart at pep boys Sincerely Debbie Carson.
