Where do you go when you want a private room to host a surprise-going away party for your in-laws? SIP! Located in adorable downtown Auburn, Sip has many seats for tasting as well as a small, upstairs function room with so much kitschy, cute, rustic ware and a lot of it is for sale! The ladies that work here are so hospitable and helpful. When we asked for a couple glasses of water, one of them brought up an entire pitcher pitcher and a bunch of glasses. I think we rented the room for about $ 175 for the night(roughly 3 hours) and they even helped us clean up our mess. They also allow you to bring in food if you use the function room! Another fun part about the function room: a beautiful little balcony overlooking the street. We would have loved to have used it if there hadn’t been a major storm happening. Come here, taste some wines, look at the artwork!

What a fun and relaxing environment to enjoy a glass of wine or try some new ones with their tasting flights! The staff was knowledgable and friendly and seemed to genuinely enjoy working there.

Super cute place with six great wineries to choose from. This place has cute and interesting art and the upstairs private room is gorgeous and perfect for parties. I’d love to throw a birthday party here. Jenn the pourer was knowledgable and friendly and we talked about living in Hawaii while sipping yummy whites and reds. Check it out!

Great place to try wines from 6 different wineries. They have meat and cheese snacks for purchase in their cooler and trust me, you will need at least one, as the pours that we got were vey hefty and each wine tasting of 7 wines was $ 7. Jenn was very knowledgable and vey pleasant… the right person to have on the front line to sell your wines! I didn’t feel cramped here. Room for many a wine connoisseur. You are very close to downtown Auburn which is good if you need food to keep you walking straight. I would definitely come back here again

This place is awesome! The wine is superb. My favorite was«Rive Gauge» by Amour Privé. On my first visit to Sip I had the pleasure of meeting the owner/winemaker, Matt Wozniak. Matt was extremely pleasant and easy to talk to about wine and art. I also met Jenn(Sip’s manager), she was extremely knowledgeable about all wines served along with the wineries featured by Sip. Since then, my friends and I have returned to joined in the fun for Paint and Wine nights. This has become one of our favorite hangout places that I’ve decided to hold my 40th birthday party in the upstairs VIP room next month.

Really enjoyed my local wine samples:) Mt. Vernon wins Cuvée Blanc wins! Get the chocolate covered Oreo too lol. Jen was really awesome. She knew everything about the wine and the wineries. Impressive. Just what we were looking for:)

Ok not a bad wine list but Mike would not allow us to taste two of the wines in the red listing because the providing winery isn’t open till Wednesday and he didn’t want to include the wine tasting because«we only have a couple bottles and they’re not open till Wednesday.» Well I say stop caring about yourself and think of your patrons, and build your business. As someone who worked in the restaurant industry you do not turn down patrons just for yourself. I can’t stand a «wine tasting» room owner that cares about himself more than his guests. You have a winery that is asking you to be their tasting room and you are wasting their time by not providing up to par service. Amour Prive, stop wasting your time. We really wanted to taste your wine but apparently we’re not worth opening a bottle for. These two gentlemen, Mike and Brett are killing your name. We went to another tasting room afterwards where another gentleman seconded our opinion regarding the service. We will not be returning to this tasting room anytime soon.

This place is a joke. I was really hoping when I drove by that the service would math the curb appeal. I was sorely mistaken! I thought after my first time here that it was going to be a regular stop for me on May way home from Tahoe. I met a gentleman by the name of Andrey. He was extremely knowledgable in wines and I really appreciated his candor and sense of humor. Maybe he still works there BUT… the last times(and only time) I was there, he was absent and I was told he moved on. NOW– here’s the problem — I went back to this place because I had a good experience, as most people would. And talk about polar opposite! The staff had no real knowledge of wines. in fact the lady who worked there told me «she doesn’t drink wine» after I asked her to check on a glass of wine I thought may be corked… how can you have a sommelier in a wine room that doesn’t like wine??? I was blown away by this and also the ambivalent attitude I received at this place. They really had a lot of potential here but I think they need to really hire people that are well versed in wine. They don’t seem to know how to keep quality people. They also need to have some food to cater to the wine tasting crowd. I expected this place to be packed but it was dead because there was no kitchen or knowledgable staff. I have been to three other local tasting rooms and they all have food, music and art. This place is lacking… I’m sorry or say but it’s a sinking ship as a business in my book.

I love wine tasting here! The ambiance is fantastic– Art from the local area is hanging on the walls and available for purchase. The General Manager is really nice and Brett was very knowledgeable and made our tasting experience very enjoyable. I will definitely be back and recommend that everyone go in and try out this local gem!

We found this little gem when walking around downtown Auburn. Friendly staff and great atmosphere!!! We ordered a red and white flight. Both were good. Can’t wait to go back!

Located in the historic area of Auburn. This wine tasting room is an eclectic mix of local wineries. The bar is divided like a bazaar of the wineries. Greeted by the employee. We are informed of the tasting process here. We elect to give it a try. A variety of dry and wet wines. Whites and reds. For the ones presented to is by the employee, he was not quite versed on the products and had to ask the other man behind the counter. He was at least trying. Good: variety of choices and laid back. Consolidated of lots of wines selections in area. Bad: not sold after the tasting paid for. I would give it a shot though. More passionate than others.

We have been meaning to visit SIP for several months and finally made it. We loved it! The hosts were wonderful and came from the four wineries represented. The décor is gorgeous with a number of local artists featured. Just about all the art was for sale and reasonably priced. There is a lovely private dining/party room upstairs also. The tasting prices were reasonable and the we enjoyed most of the ones we tasted. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will be back and take out of town guests there too.

My parents were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary so I thought it would be nice to take them to explore Auburn and do some wine tasting. We stopped by Sip and we had a great time! We each tried the Sip Flight which was a steal at $ 6.00. We then each drank a glass of wine and purchased 2 bottles. There were two young men who were working the counter and they were very friendly. One young man was telling us of his adventures making wine and traveling the country. The other young man also engaged in conversation the entire time speaking of college, his family, his background, etc. We were highly entertained by them. We moved upstairs to enjoy our glass of wine and one of the young men would check on us periodically to make sure we were okay and also to engage in more conversation. We had a great time and would definetly be back! Thank you Sip!

We paid $ 6 for a five-wine-taste flight or you can just buy a glass of wine for $ 6 or more depending on the wine. It’s a nice atmosphere with various art for sale. Spacious downstairs. There is also an upstairs room which would be nice for a group. The manager made it clear he is after the tourists, not locals. He also kind of discounted the value of selling exclusively local Placer County wines, again because he is after the I-80 tourists and doesn’t think they necessarily care about buying local products. Being a local, I was kind of put off by his attitude; probably won’t be back, but hey, who cares, right? There’s an endless supply of travelers passing through on the interstate! Who needs locals!

Great wine tasting experience with awesome local wineries! You can do a tasting from one of the 4 local wineries they serve wine from or buy by the glass. Great local art as well. I highly recommend a trip here if you are coming to Auburn.
