Academy of Cataract and Laser Surgery

I was trying to get lasik and told them I was allergic to NSAIDs (Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs) and found out the hard way they prescribed me NSAID eye drops. Fast forward to my birthday weekend spent in bed with swollen eyes and having to cancel all of my plans.
Between this clearly avoidable issue, the fact that it took over two hours to do the lasik consultation (of which I spent 1 and half hours waiting), and the $ 200 fee for the consultation (while other eye doctors do this for free) that only resulted in me being blind for my birthday, I simply don’t know why anyone would go to this place.
Would definitely not recommend this place.

I recently had laser surgery at the Academy of Cataract and Laser Surgery. Dr. Howard Bruckner and his team were five star. From pre-​op to post surgery, the staff was there for me. Every appointment was on time… every question was answered… every need was met. During surgery, I had no trepidation as Dr. Bruckner and his team explained everything that was happening each step of the way. More important that the great bedside manner was knowing that I was in the hands of an extremely competent, experienced, and skilled physician. Thumbs up!

It seems like doctors offices are turning into mechanical factories theses days. There is so much pressure to see as many patients as you can in a day and the only ones who suffer are us, the patients!
Every time I go to see Dr Bruckner and his staff, I am greeted like family, even the first time I was there. Every person appears to appreciate that great care and paying attention to the patients needs means job security and referrals.
Last time I was there, I had just lost my dog of 13 years and when I told Mrs Bruckner that, she took me to her back office and sure enough, the Bruckner family dog was there! Now talk about great patient care.
I would highly recommend the Academy of Cataract and Laser Surgery. I don’t want to sound corny but my vision is my life and I want a Dr who cares about my life not my wallet.

Stay away as far as you can from this incompetent so called doctor, Howard Bruckner. He totally failed to diagnose my detached retina, but scheduled cataract surgery ASAP. Thank God I went to another doctor far, far away from this 72 year old fruit cake!!!
