I dined here today for lunch with my family. The food wasn’t great! The fried chicken was over cooked(fried really dark). The black eyed peas were sweet(yeah sweet). Everything else was ok(sweet potato sufflé, rice, turnip greens) there were a few other items on the buffet, but I didn’t eat. I’ve been to the restaurant several times(usually) for lunch during the week, but this is my first time writing a review. Our server Trey was really nice(he’s waited on us before), other than that, lunch was just ok…

Ambience. B Service. B+ Food. B– Price. A I’ve always seen the advertisement for seafood buffet Friday. Never been. This is the restaurant inside the Doubletree Hotel. Clean but hotel feel bright dining and very fun loud music Hostess was pleasant in getting seating. I recommend making a reservation. Gets busy starting at 5! Servers were efficient but can get harried and sweaty picking up multiple plates and constantly refilling glasses. They eventually just leave pitchers of whatever you order of they get too busy. Pro– steamed crab legs were meaty /raw oysters good, crayfish nicely spiced. Prime rib was rare fatty and juicy. Good variety salad bar and hot food section. Nice selection of fruits and desserts. Con– thought the fried shrimp and fish were a little over fried making them dried out and chewy. Chowder was good but ran out early and never replaced. $ 32 per person/sr. And military 10% discount offered. 18% gratuity added for table 6 or more.

Our reservation was held and we were seated promptly for Easter Brunch, my Dad, my Mom and I. The selection was outstanding and there was plenty for all. A live jazz band was playing the standards quietly in the backtround. I especially want to thank our server, Dotti, who was very attentive. She even sat down with my Dad and showed him how to shell boiled shrimp. I’ve never learned that before either. As far as the food, there was a hot table with a carving station at the end, a wet and dry salad table, a finger snack table, the obligatory omlet, waffle and pastry table, and of course a desert table. I’m sorry some of the other reviewers’ bad experiences. But for Easter and Thanksgiving Brunch, you won’t be dissapointed.

I have been to this restaurant once in 2013, twice in 2014 and more than likely I just went my last time last night. We arrived gave the greeter our name and stepped back to wait our turn. So we noticed people were coming in and going straight to a seat, 2 ppl, 3 ppl groups of 6 to 8. So after about 5 ppl going ahead of us my husband asked the greeter he said well large parties are seated first and in the larger dinning room, so we were like ok. We waited again, then this couple was called and the man had words with the greeter letting him know other ppl went ahead of him. So we started looking and noticing, they seat the hotel guests first and people who are friends of the manager. So if you are a friend of the manager you just have to start talking to the pasta guy to get behind the podium then just start watching ppl to see who is about to be done eating and bam there is your seat. The food was not worth 35.00 per person, but I have thoughts that his friends with their kids don’t pay 35.00 a person. The baked fish was tasteless and the chilled shrimp was over cooked, tarter sauce was not good, hush puppies were terrible. The crab salad was great! Service from the waitress was good, the seating was not the best but the oviance was nice and the bad was nice. I just don’t like to over pay for food knowing I can’t eat 35.00 worth of food AND get treated bad. So if your not VIP which means a friend of the old manager guy then stay home!

First of all, let me start by saying how much I had looked forward to this dining experience. I love seafood just about any way you can prepare it. When we arrived at 7pm on friday we were told that there was a 25 min wait. OK, we waited, as soon as we sat down so did a woman with a newly walking child which she sat down and let run a muck all the while loudly verbalizing. When our name was called we happily fled the scene. We both ordered the all you can eat seafood buffet, we had water to drink and I also ordered a beer. The beer was brought to me in bottle, no glass. Then the woman with the loud untrained child was promptly seated two tables away from us, which was not nearly enough.(the child was very loud the whole meal and neither the mother or the staff did anything to make the situation better for everyone else) There were many offerings, but the hot foods were greasy and soggy, for sure old and not cooked well, most things you could taste were frozen and not fresh. I asked the prime rib carver for a rare piece which he quickly told me was unavailable because the meat was in the oven too long, it was leather. The in shell shrimp was way overcooked, which is inexcusable because they are serving it chilled, how hard is it to pull out of the water when it first blushes. The gravlox was not fresh raw salmon, it was smoked salmon with lemon and dill it was greasy and it had oxidized. There were two sushi offerings, neither of which had any raw fish, one had surami and the other was veg. I was surprised to see ahi tuna and got a good portion, but unfortunately it was not seasoned and it was not seared in hot pan, instead it was heated to a grey color and then rolled in raw sesame seeds… the result was tasteless and mushy.(The texture of this actually was so disgusting that I had to excuse myself to the powder room… where I left all of my supper) The waitress brought our drinks out and brought us hot sauce but then we waited 20 min after we were done for her to bring out bill. My husband did relay to her my unfortunate experience with the tuna and she deducted 22.00 from our bill. which still left us with a bill of over 40.00…a total disgrace… my husband and I were ill all night, and here it is 11 am and i am still suffering the effects. When we paid the bill we relayed our disappointment to the cashier, who stated I am so sorry you had a bad experience, but offered no solution, and said BYE! I will also say that this is the second restaurant in a Hilton that i have had dreadful food and dreadful customer service. I wrote the Hilton corporate offices twice about the previous bad experience and never even received acknowledgement from them. Bad on You HILTON bad on you.

Terrible. The food tasted ok, but was cold. It was EXTREMELY overpriced. We had two adult buffets and one alcoholic drink and it was $ 77. And the food was ALL cold
