Coming to Fort Gordon and finding they have a nice decent size dog park was a bonus. For those of you with kids, the dog park is located right next to the children’s playground. So your kiddos can go play while you let the dogs play. The dog park has two fenced in sides. The first side is for the 35lb and under dogs, the other side is for the 36lb and over dogs. Each side has water stations, about 8 poop bag stations, benches some with umbrellas, fire hydrants that spray water, and activities to keep your dog entertained. The only thing that I don’t like about the dog park is the lack of shade for dogs. They have two bench areas on each side that have umbrella covering but it’s more for the owners of the pets than anything. Seeing as it gets extremely hot here during the summer months some shade for the pups would be nice. I was warned that when it’s extremely hot, the rocks makes your dog’s paw pads burst. :(

The equipment here is nice. They have a water fountain for the dogs as well as a faucet that splashes water. Yet their is no trees that offer shade and the gravel gets so hot. My dog stayed along the outer border where some mulch was.

I concur with the previous review. This fairly new dog park is a great addition to the Fort Gordon community! The area is beautifully landscaped and well taken care of from what I can tell. I have 3 large dogs, German Shepherds, who love to roam around. There is plenty of space for them to move about. The attendants when I was there had plenty of jokes. He said my dog bit him as he came in, and when I got genuinely concerned, he asked if I wanted to see the bite marks on his butt. Ha. Overall, everything is new and looks great. Not sure how much it gets used currently, but it is a great find. I recommend everyone to check it out!

If your looking for place to take your bark machine for an hour, there is plenty of room at this new Fort Gordon dog park. The area is divided into two parts so the little squirts(under 35 lbs) and giant wolfs(over 35 lbs) don’t eat each other in epic battles. While the areas are clearly marked, if you have a tiny dogger that likes to roam with the wolves, no one will give you a hard time. This park is a great new addition to the area and has all of the bells and whistles you’d expect from a new park. Everyone I have run into here has been very friendly. Come by and check it out.
