I have been taking drawing and painting classes at GHIA for the past two years. The classes are really fun, not expensive, the people are nice, and with every class I’m learning, making progress and making new friends. In particular, I highly recommend Erica Pastecki’s drawing classes. She gets us to see the subject matter in a new way and express it in the work. She gives individual attention and is always positive. Her classes are super fun. No matter what your level, with her help you will improve your fundamental drawing skills. The school itself is in Ware’s Folly, a Victorian mansion full of character. There’s a three story oval staircase, a huge library of art books, several gallery rooms, and it’s possibly haunted by ghosts. What’s not to love?

Évaluation du lieu : 5 Augusta, GA
I’m loving Augusta a little more every day as I come across these hidden little gems, like a place with serious & accessible art classes. YES! I’m taking a lovely figure drawing class at the moment, with a wonderful teacher who gives individual feedback & a small group of serious artists(myself, a dabbler, not included). You climb up two flights of curving stairs & over broad-beamed rough-wood floors, and painted-over fireplaces, walls covered with(at the moment) children’s art… its kind of worth a visit just to climb into the attic for an art class. Anyway… loving it and learning a bit about figure drawing in the process. $ 200 for 8 classes… not too bad.
