This is a grocery store without gimmicks. Service is fine. Nothing crazy good or bad about this place. It is clean, and I always appreciate that.

I work in Augusta. I usually get a salad for lunch on my lunch hour. I love Hannaford’s salad bar. Unfortunately I can never check out in a reasonable amount of time because they are so understaffed for the lunch rush and they have no self checkout kiosks. I’m going to drive a little farther up the road and go to Shaws. They have a good salad bar and plenty of open registers/self checkouts. Even with the extra driving time, I’ll get back to work sooner.

I’m not sure why I’ve always had this preconceived notion that Hannaford’s was dumpy, because this was not dumpy at all!
Actually I really liked this Hannaford. Maybe it’s just the one near my house in Waltham.
It was clean and brightly lit! Everything was stocked on the shelves. Things were relatively easy to find. Prices were decent. We fed 7 people over 3 days on just a lil over $ 100.
Also, they have wine and beer here. So convenient!
