Should be called Lil piece of Heaven! If you want fresh baked goods, this is the place to go. My favorites are the red velvet cupcakes and the cream cheese rolls. If you are a red velvet connoisseur like myself, have no worries. These are not the dry chocolatey desserts most bakeries try to force on you. These are the real deal. Moist(I hate that word…), rich, and delicious. Go early if you want rolls. They usually sell out.

If you have not tried their«Caramel Buns», they are to die for! No other bakery in the entire CSRA can equal or match the taste and quality of their Caramel Buns. Yes, the other pastries are great too. Employees are very friendly and most helpful.

Whether you want fresh baked breads, cookies, pies, cakes, rolls, sandwiches or premade dinner, Lil’ Dutch Bakery has it all. I’m not sure why others have said they don’t have breads, it’s untrue. My family loves their bread. My kids devour it. It doesn’t last long in my house. I’ve tried lots of goodies and never been disappointed. One of my favorite rolls isn’t even sweet. It’s a ham and cheese roll. It’s packed with cheese, over flowing in fact. Good chunks of ham, gooey cheddar cheese, served warm. So amazing you’ll want to buy a whole tray! My kids love the cookies and cupcakes. Great prices, delicious and family owned! I still haven’t tried the premade frozen dinners you just take home a throw in the oven. The stuffed peppers looks great frozen, I’m sure it’s great bubbling with goodness coming out of your oven!

Enjoy the cakes and cupcakes. It appears they are under new management but the product was still good.

Stopped by with my sweetie after having breakfast. I was excited and my smile widened as my eyes laid upon the cupcake, cookies and brownies. I settled on a white chocolate macadamian nut cookie and lemon bar. There was a variety of beautiful sweets and I seriously wanted to devour everything! To the right of the store there were refrigerators that held meals to reheat such as sweet potato casserole, mac and cheese, twice baked potato and other delectable delights. I will be back to purchase one of these meals for dinner:) The cookie did not make it home, but it did make it into my stomach very satisfied! I just finished the lemon bar and let me tell you it’s HEAVENLY!!!

Oh yes yes yes. I’ve been bitten by some mediocre cupcakes and dry pastries in this town but you’ve gotta kiss a few frogs to get your prince, right? By my count, I’ve been to 8 bakery/cupcake shops in the Evans/Augusta area and this is by far the best one so far. It’s quite an unassuming little shop and the storefront doesn’t lend much confidence in their craft but don’t judge a book by it’s cover in this case. I’d have to agree with Ann Marie D. when she says they don’t have a huge selection of pastries but what they do, they do SOWELL. Words like whoopie pie and snickernoodle make me all hot and bothered and seeing a cupcake the size of my palm with delicious buttercream frosting? Well, there are just no words for that kind of diabetic glory my body feels when I cut the bottom off and make a cupcake sandwich.(For those of you wondering what a cupcake sandwich is, ) It’s the only way to eat cupcakes hands down. But it’s not just the cupcakes and whoopie pies that makes my heart and mouth sing. They’ve got some serious flaky turnovers, giant gooey cinnamon rolls and Danishes. They also sell frozen family sized meals in their reach in cooler but as I was only there for pies and easily consumable goodies, I can only comment that it all looked quite impressive. They do also sell day old pastries for a really fair price if you have a microwave handy and like a heartier treat. They don’t use preservatives or additives like most bakeries so don’t expect a Little Debbie or Tasty Kake type consistency from day old pastries. This bakery gets a 5 from me not only because of the ooey gooey Danishes and frosting, but because the girl behind the counter knows her stuff and loves her job. Having a mighty fine cupcake to snack on is one thing but having a nice conversation and getting some really good recommendations on what to choose for a 12 pack of cupcakes from someone who is enthusiastic about her work really pushes this places over the top. Kudos to the fine folks here and I hope the expansion brings an even bigger client base. 59⁄2014

Yum. As many times as I’ve been to Carolina Pottery, I’m not sure how this place flew under my radar for so long. Friendly staff, though there was only one girl working the counter/register and she could gave used a hand. They didn’t have a HUGE assortment of things, but sometimes I find that’s better. Do a few things and do them right. For just under $ 13 I purchased a huge whoopie pie, 6 cookies and a 2 pack of yesterday’s cream cheese sweet rolls. 1. It’s been about 18 hours since I was there. Those 6 cookies? Gone. No, I did not have any help. Chocolate chip– soft buttery, yum! M&MS– pretty much the same as chocolate chip, my complaint here is the same as with every M&MS cookie I come across– not enough candies. Throw in extra or add some chocolate chips too. Oatmeal Raisin– nothing wrong with it at all, it was good. But I have a gold standard when it comes to Oatmeal Raisin cookies and this wasn’t it. Snickerdoodle– light as air, yummy flavor. Ate it for breakfast so it may have been even softer yesterday. Sugar Cookie — good cookie, good frosting. I hate it when a sugar cookie relies on one of its parts to «carry it» great balance! 2. Cream cheese Sweet Rolls– the dough had a nice rise and texture, but flavor was a little lacking. It was just the sweet roll dough with the cream cheese frosting, no spices. Yes, I bought the«yesterday’s buns, but honestly as a baker I know that’s a good deal if you have the option. Do you make sweet rolls at home and eat all of them at once? Nope! If I bought this type of item again I’d try the actual cinnamon roll or maybe the raspberry cream cheese roll. 3. Did you see the picture of my hand with the cookies? Whoopie pie was bigger. Soft cake, with a nice moist crumb, but sturdy enough to be a «sandwich» the frosting filling was pretty good. Not the best I’ve ever had. The cake wasn’t a punch in the face chocolate flavor either. A nice balanced whoopie pie. They also had a cooler filled with casseroles that you could buy to go and an assortment of other goodies. The cupcakes were HUGE, they had some turnovers, the«pretty» sugar cookies(ones I try to stay away from), and it would appear they also to drinks. The space is very small, though it looks like they maybe expanding into the vacant place next door.

I don’t think there’s a bakery in Augusta that can top this one. There might be one in the CSRA that is a hard tie(Pineland Bakery, Waynesboro). They are not fancy designer cupcakes. They are just really good, moist, not too sweet cupcakes. Their red velvet cake(and cupcakes) is one of the best I’ve ever tasted. I put in an order every Thanksgiving and Christmas for RV and/or German Chocolate every year. Be warned, they’re usually closed a couple days before a holiday. This is not the place to pick up a last minute cake. They completely sell out before closing prior to the holiday. Do yourself a favor and order ahead. The danish-all the danish are good. Ditto for the cookies. I’m happy that they changed their hours as it was pretty difficult to try and get there by 2pm. I already know I won’t find another like you in Memphis Lil’ Dutch! But, I’ll be back to visit!

I am in love with the Lil’dutch Bakery’s cup cakes. The red velvet is divine. and the German chocolate is sinfully good. The lemon bars are darn near heaven. My daughter loves the red velvet cupcake so much that for her 22nd birthday I bought her a red velvet cake from LDB and it was the hit of the party. The bread that they sell is wonderful, and you can call early in the week and have them bake you a 12 grain to pick up on sat. I highly recommend placing an order ahead of time if you want to be guaranteed the German chocolate cupcake or 12 grain loaf of bread. We usually eat breakfast next door on a sat and then stop in to the bakery afterward to pick up our yummy’s! The staff are very busy, but kind people.

The one thing I actually hunt for in towns I visit/live in is a good bakery. This is not the bakery where you would go to get a freshly baked loaf of bread or anything artisan/gourmet, but if you have a strong cupcake craving, consider your needs met. Hours of operation are a bit inconvenient for those working 9−5s, but call ahead and find out if they are open.

The cupcakes are so yummy! You’ve heard about the cupcake sensation fueled by Hollywood’s celebrities: Magnolia Bakery in New York, Sprinkles in L.A. yada yada yada. Well, Lil’ Dutch Bakery puts out some great cupcakes that may not be prissy and pretty comparable to a starlet. But, they’re satisfying and comforting as if Grandma made them for her favorite grandchild. My husband’s co-worker, who travels all over Georgia, brought in cupcakes. My husband brought the Key Lime cupcake home and I fell in love with the moist cake, rich frosting and the little tang. I savored the experience. Can the food you’re slowly chewing and savoring make you feel dreamy? This cupcake had that effect on me. I suppose it’s no surprise that my husband surprised me with a box of cupcakes this week from Lil’ Dutch Bakery. Some of the varieties I got were: carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, white cake with chocolate frosting(my fave), red velvet with cream cheese frosting, piña colada with cream cheese frosting. Try it out, if you can. It’s $ 1.39 per cupcake.
