Where do I begin? It started with my cousin and I not receiving our menus. A couple was seated after us and received menus. The hostess stated that she didn’t see us. They were not busy at all, so I don’t know how I was missed. I sat down for 36 minutes and never received my sushi. I have been to this location several times, and the last two times were not pleasant. I spoke with the server, and she was very nice and apologetic. She spoke with the manager about us not receiving our food after 20 minutes. She shared that our food would be up in 7 minutes. At this point the table behind us received their sushi, and their order should have been entered behind ours. Also, there was a takeout order(lady came in after us) for sushi and that person also received their food. I spoke with the manager after 34 minutes, and he stated that my order should be up soon. I explained my frustration and he stated that they made the sushi as orders were placed. I sat back down and decided I had enough so I left. Needless to say I will not return. I’m still hungry!

When i’m in the mood for Hibachi in the Augusta area, this is my go-to. I love the expansive sushi menu and the hibachi is good and of course in hearty portions. One hibachi meal is easily shareable for two. We get take out from here on occasion and my only complaint is that they always forget my extra white sauce!!! Don’t they know how crucial the white sauce is? Also, if you’re making me pay for extra white sauce, do not forget the extra white sauce. I think that’s fair, right?

Miyako is our go-to date night sushi place. We love it. The spicy scallop role is wonderful.

Sat us 1.5 hours after reservation time. Did not get drinks until 2+ hours after reservation. Do not recommend.

The sushi was a pretty good deal overall. Good size portion and good taste. The specialty rolls are not overpriced and the children’s portion is large enough that we had leftovers for lunch the next day. The staff was attentive and the manager was very nice. He introduced himself, having overheard that we were new to the area, and made a good impression on us. We will definitely return to this restaurant and would recommend it to friends.

One of the better places to grab sushi in Augusta. It has always been fresh and well worth it each time I’ve eaten here. The Hibachi I received was also good. I would not recommend getting the teriyaki chicken now. Whereas it used to be hibachi style, it is now just a chicken breast slathered in teriyaki sauce and a small bowl of white rice. This place does tend to get packed on weekends, so I’d suggest calling ahead.

Dinner was amazing. We just left and I can’t wait to come back. I’ve been here for dinner a few times before and it was good. The hibachi was amazing. Our cook wasn’t the most social individual but he was awesome. The food came out so delicious. We didn’t mind our cook was quiet. When he did talk to us he was friendly and very entertaining for our kids. Man I feel like we’ve been missing out this whole time not doing hibachi!

The best sushi in Augusta ! This is an amazing eatery! Our servers were fabulous and kept us in stitches! The dining area was dimly lit and romantic. Sasha made the best recommendations from their menu and the selections did not disappoint! Fresh tuna belly and ingredients were used. The sushi chef was an amazing artist as well. Our serving platters looked like small works of art! This is a MUSTSTOP in Augusta if you love sushi! My only regret is I didn’t take any pictures! :(

I’m easy to please, and I had heard this place was pretty good, but this was horrible. Long story short? I spit out mold-tasting nigiri into the toilet and my boyfriend and I have spent the night taking turns in the bathroom. Great anniversary dinner. Maybe it was because it was the day after Christmas, maybe it was because it was a bit busier, but this was my experience regardless… My boyfriend and I came here for dinner, and as always we ordered a lot of food and split it all. The appetizers were subpar, the udon soup was pretty good(I’m a sucker for soup), but the sushi… I love sushi. I just took a trip to Japan where almost all I ate was sushi. It’s always been my «safe» food, and never once been disappointed. Now that we’ve cleared that up, while eating our sushi I noticed a few pieces tasted… off. The rest was mostly dry and bland. My boyfriend tried a piece of nigiri and immediately said I would not like it. Of course, I tried it. I literally walked to the bathroom to spit it out into the toilet because it tasted like mold. I almost vomited. I now understood the odd flavor I had been tasting. Fast forward 10 minutes and we are trying to rush out of there because both of our stomachs were turning(we just had an awesome night sharing a bathroom, by the way), and of course this was the one point during the entire dinner our server wasn’t popping in every 3 – 5 minutes to check on us. Not coming back

Miso soup was subpar… it was just broth and didn’t have anything else. The hibachi chef was nice and courteous, but the cooking style was subpar compared to other hibachi grills in town. Lunch was OK. We should’ve just stuck to the sushi bar since the sushi was delicious. We went during lunch hour and each of the guests who ordered the hibachi scallop had only 5 – 6 pieces each so I don’t think it’s worth the price you pay for. Meh. There are other hibachi grills in town. Try elsewhere!

I had a Bento Box with teriyaki chicken, tempura shrimp, tuna rolls and fried vegetables. The food was really good, sushi was fresh and made to my special order. I’d definitely go back again!

Good hibachi every time we have gone but some of my husband’s class mates said they all think they got sick from here so it makes me a little weary of going. The place could also use a bit of a face lift — seems old and a little dirty.

The service here is incredible. I came with a group of 20 people and only ended up trying Miyako because every other restaurant I called was unable to handle a party our size. Miyako gave us the reservation at the time we wanted and was definitely able to cater to our large group. The service was incredible. The servers were quick, attentive, and so friendly. Our hibachi chef was talented and hilarious and we all enjoyed the show, and we enjoyed the food even more! The portions are huge so a hibachi combo is good for at least two meals. I got the chicken combo with salmon and it came with veggies, rice, and noodles. I was only able to get through about 1⁄3 of the food before I couldn’t eat anymore. I’ll definitely be back!

Really enjoyed it. Went out for sushi. They have a nice special where you get two rolls for $ 10.95 or 3 for $ 14.95. They have a good selection of specialty rolls too. Beer selection is fair. No drafts just bottles. Service was good too.

House sake here is better than average. It is slightly on the sweeter side and not dry like most. We ordered two large sakes! Although I was not entirely impressed with what we had ordered, the sushi overall was of good quality. Appetizer: — Spicy tuna tartar: Chopped tuna, seaweed salad, sesame oil, served with tangy/citrusy/spicy sauce. Was ‘good’; however, I did not care for the grounded up tuna. Would not order again. — Yellowtail jalapeño: Sliced yellowtail, jalapeño, radish, masago, and scallions served with ponzu sauce. I love the simplicity of this dish which also packs a punch. Sushi: — Shitake Mushroom Roll: Shitake mushroom and cucumber inside topped with smoked salmon, shrimp, and avocado. I was hoping the fragrance and flavor of the shitake mushrooms would be the highlight of this roll; however, there were not even undertones of the flavor. The only thing mushroom-y about this roll it’s the rubbery texture. Like my dinner company said, «The roll tastes better the more wasabe you put on it.» — Tempura Sweet Potato Roll: Exactly what it sounds like and by far my favorite of the night.

For my birthday I wanted to try something different for my birthday dinner, so I thought long and hard and came up with this place. I’ve had Japanese fast food and buffet but never an authentic restaurant. It was an enjoyable experience!!! You can eat free for your birthday but you have to have at least five people in your party. I didn’t know that. We only had three in our party and the it was two people celebrating a birthday in my party. But that was fine I definitely know this for the next time when my birthday comes around. This place is very beautiful. You wouldn’t know it was this nice from looking on the outside. It’s decked out in Japanese appearance. Dimly lit with dark colors and wooden furnishings, it invites you to come in relax and enjoy a meal. There are two sections the front and the back. The front is more like a traditional restaurant and the back is were the hibachi action is. The front was more serene and the back was very lively!!! We chose to sit in the front. We looked looked over the menu and it was very intensive. They had several pages of just sushi, which I don’t eat anymore because I’ve seen disturbing videos of parasites still alive on sushi that has been served to customers!!! YUCK!!! Most of the other entrees come with hibachi soup/miso soup and garden salad. I couldn’t decide if I wanted chicken or steak. I ended up ordering the hibachi chicken and hibachi soup. The soup and salad came first. The salad was very delicious with ranch dressing but the soup I didn’t like. It was just clear broth with a mushroom in it I think. My brother ordered the miso soup and it tasted better than mine. It had seaweed and other things in it and it wasn’t clear. The food came out quickly and it was quite delicious. Cooked to perfection and seasoned well. I enjoyed every bit of it. The waitress was very friendly and knew the menu well, explaining to us some of our choices. She understood that we weren’t use to this type of cuisine. There were several customers that were celebrating birthdays that day. I think they sung ‘Happy Birthday’ at least three times. The back of the restaurant was extremely full of pep. They were really enjoying themselves. This restaurant is a gem. I can’t wait to go back and try more things on the menu. If the food is as good as it was this could be my new favorite restaurant in Augusta.

I was looking for a good sushi joint. Unilocal pulled a couple in the area and I was drawn to this place. Reviews were good and thought we should try it. Located on Washington road next to Kroger Grocery Store. My mom and I came here for lunch. We were seated and got our drinks right away. Since it was our first time, the server was really patient with us. She told us the specials and made suggestions. My mom got the Hibachi Combo which is $ 12.95 and you get two proteins, rice, veggies, and salad. Her proteins were salmon and shrimp. I got the 3 sushi roll combo(California roll, sweet potato roll, and salmon tempura roll) for $ 12.50 and includes a salad(I got the ginger dressing). I ordered an appetizer with the meals(vegetable tempura) but she forgot to put it in. It was a good thing she did because when the food came out, the plate was pretty full. You definitely get your money’s worth. My mom’s food was hot and she thought it was really delicious. Salmon was flaky(pretty fair size), shrimp(they gave her 4 pieces) and rice had great flavor. She kept raving how awesome her meal was. My Sushi was awesome!!! I’m picky with my rice. Sometimes when I order sushi, the rice tastes weird. The rice was not hard or too mushy. My sweet potato roll had a fair amount of sweet soy sauce/sesame seeds. Great combo! Salmon Tempura Roll was too good! The seaweed wrapper was out(I usually like my sushi prepared inside out), but it went well on how they made and stuffed it. California roll was decent. Crab and avocado fresh. Service was quick and friendly. Bathrooms and restaurant clean. Overall a great experience and I would definitely return. I wouldn’t say it’s the best Sushi joint in Augusta, because there are other places I would like to try. I know that I can recommend this to others.

I have visited Miyako several times since it opened. The service seems to diminish each time I go. The food is still good. I visited for lunch, which ends at 2:30 p.m. A friend and I arrived around 2:15 p.m. We were seated immediately. Our waiter was nice, but he seemed like he was rushing around to finish his shift. I ordered the lunch special, three rolls for $ 12.95. I had the Shrimp Tempura, Sweet Potato and Spicy Crab rolls. All three were great! My lunch special included a soup or salad. I opted for a salad, but I had to remind our waiter and he returned with it later in a to-go box. The good thing about Miyako is that they offer a special each day. I didn’t get anything from the bar with it being before 5pm and all, but the bar has great drinks, so try them. I’d visit again in hopes of a more attentive waiter. The pros: The space is always clean. There are plenty of seating choices. The menu is extensive, so you have lots of choices. The location is accessible, but that depends on the time of day. It’s located off the busy Washington Road. It is in a plaza, so there is plenty of parking. Check it out!
