This is fun spot to grab some apps and drinks and check out some entertainment. It’s not a huge place but there is plenty of room at the bar or at the tables without feeling like you are rubbing elbows with a stranger, unless that’s your thing and in that case you are at the wrong place. There are often live bands playing, as well as open min nights. Normally this means yelling to the person next to you, but instead there is nice balance of easily heard conversation and the pleasing tones of music. They have a nice wine slection inclduing local wine brewers, cellar door winery. They have an excllent beer selection, including alot of maine microbews. They have a full bar as well with bar tenders that make mixed drinks on point. Be warned you may not know there is liquor in your cup until you feel the effects a couple drinks in. The apps are an excellent compliment to the drinks. The boneless wings are great, as well as the unique pickled onion rings.

35 feet of bar, copper-topped tables, an excellent bar tender. It all equals a great night out at Augusta’s best kept secret of a hangout! Jenny van West and Rick Dejarduns playing tonight. Volume just right. The musics up front, but conversation is comfortable. Great mojito and wonderful Bahama Mama(believe it or not)! Go to Riverfront bbq downstairs for dinner and have a mellow night afterward.

This place is nice for singles wanting to lounge and get to know some ladies. The bar tenders need to be a little more personable though! Food is good and the drinks are yummy.

Worst service anywhere. Takes forever to get waited on for a drink, if at all. Several similar experiences here.

Their pickled onion rings are a unique menu item and I highly recommend them! Very tasty. The open mic night is usually a good crowd and I have seen and heard many fabulous performers showcasing their talent. I would definitely go back as it’s one of the few bars worth checking out in Augusta.

Happened on open mike night purely by accident. Great place, cheerful atmosphere, the open mike orginizer guy walks around and greets everyone. We wish we had a place like this at home! 100 beers on the menu(and 3 hard ciders, woo hoo!) They have a small menu but they will serve the BBQ restaurant downstairs food too upon request. We found this place in the binder in our hotel looking for local food options. A little confusing to find it, its above the BBQ Restaurant if you find yourself similiarly confused! Highly recommended!

The place is alright. Having in mind that it is probably one of the two decent bars in Augusta, do not set your expectations high They have some good cocktails like Espresso Martini nad Russian Lemonade Overall, I would recommend it just because there are not many options in Augusta

The Gin Mill is really the only place to go after 10pm, but they don’t take advantage of that. They have great service and a nice, clean establishment. I ordered a riesling to have with some dessert. The waitress came back with almost a full glass and told me that was all they had left, but once I finished that I could choose whatever I wanted. That’s some good customer service. For dessert, we ordered the cheesecake of the day(apple) and a fudgey brownie with whip and raspberry sauce. We were all really big fans of the cheesecake and were pleasantly surprised by the thn slices of apple in the middle. The fudgey brownie was more fudge than brownie so it wasn’ t really my cup of tea, but it’s chocolate so I ate my fair share. The bathrooms are large, new, and well kept. If I ever found myself back in Augusta, ME, I’d definitely hit this spot up after dinner to just sit around and chat.

This is upstairs from the Riverfront BBQ. The bartenders are super nice and will change a drink if you don’t like it or let you sample drinks. Friday night they had a guy playing guitar and doing Eric Clapton covers and other songs, he had a great voice. It’s a great place to watch the game and hang out with friends. They serve food and dessert after 10 pm and they are maybe one of the only places open until midnight on Saturday night. The bathrooms are cute and clean! I loved this place!
