Amazing steak! Okay now that I’ve gotten that out of the way… This was my first visit here and they did not disappoint. When we entered the restaurant we were promptly greeted and seated by a very friendly hostess. Once seated our server immediately came over and got out drink orders. She asked if we had any questions and was extremely patient while the indecisive part of our party [me] made up their mind. The menu is loaded with great options but not too many. We both ordered the filet which came with garlic green beans and mashed potatoes. I added sautéed mushrooms to mine and it only enhanced the awesomeness. Both steaks were cooked perfectly and the sides were yummy. I had previously heard this place was under new ownership and all I can say is well done! We will definitely be back!

Really enjoy my dinners at The Snug in Augusta. We’re here Saturday night listening to the live group entertaining. The comment I want to make is that the crab dip, which I look forward to each time was not up to their standards. Too much pepper and much too soupy. I look forward to trying the Seafood Pasta.

We had a wonderful dinner here tonight. We had overlooked it due to the name, and were pleasantly surprised. Wonderful steaks! The prime rib was good, but my husbands NY strip was incredibly tender and had an amazing flavor. They also had live music which wasn’t too loud. Nice traditional steak house.

Nice steakhouse just off of Hwy 20. I ordered the ribeye medium, as I typically do. The steak was really flavorful, but unfortunately it was overcooked. This is typically where I’d go off on a rant about my grossly overdone steak, but to be honest it was still tender and flavorful. So I overall I would recommend this steakhouse. Oh, and the loaded mashed potatoes and green beans were also good.

The new owners are great. The food here is amazing. If you have never been you should definitely check it out. You will not be disappointed. The drunken black and blue steak is awesome! They have lunch now Monday thru Friday 11−2pm.

Had an enjoyable meal with my husband. We both ordered the caprese salad which had a delightful balsamic dressing and fresh mozzarella. I got the unfortunately named but delicious ‘Neptune’s Cow’ and my husband had the New York strip. The service was good and reasonably fast. We didn’t have room for dessert, but still got to try a sample of the yummy grasshopper cake. We loved eating at an independent restaurant with local chefs. We’ll come again.

I have been comming here now going on 9 months. I started working in Agusta and wanted a good steak. I tried others that were suppose to be tops in the area, but they fell short to The Snug. I felt like family immediately, I like the family feel. I continue to come here 2 or 3 times a week, after getting to know the staff and owners, It feels like a home away from home to me

The service was good. I ordered slenderella prime rib 12 oz and my wife ordered 8 oz filet. Mine was really good cooked perfectly but needed a little more seasoning for my taste. My wife’s was over cooked. She ordered medium but got well. They cooked a new filet and it was good to go. Overall good restaurant but a little dated décor. I would come back.

Convenient to i-20 went there 5÷8÷2015 for graduation celebration, had reservation. Got seated, we were packaged like vienna’s, no room what so ever. I ordered black &blu filet. Took forever they must’ve been cooking my med. rare filet. It was like jerky! Not to mention the salad for three was in one bowl. We had to separate on our own… guess they was trying to get us tanked up while we waited. Oh it all was very pricey. wont go again after being 250.00 short out of pocket. Guess I’m a whiner diner, but I want what I pay for!

We have been eating at The Snug for about 12 years. It has always been enjoyable. BUT after last night we probably won’t return. It is masters week and we thought we would go for a nice steak, well the food was not only, not up to par, they raised the prices $ 15 to $ 20 dollars a plate. So the $ 29.95 steak was $ 45. The $ 17.95 salmon was $ 35. This was more than disappointing. If you had stayed with your normal menue all those empty booths might have been filled. We won’t go back!

What happened to the last 20 one star reviews blasting the food, service, and total disregard for customer satisfaction? All of a sudden two reviewers love this place in total contrast to legitimate reviews Unilocal are you being paid?

TERRIBLESERVICE — My husband and I see each other about 3 weeks per year. We went to The Snug for dinner and didn’t get the nice evening we expected. Our server told the cook to change my order without asking if that’s what I wanted. My husband had his meal and I had nothing. He would be done before I would have anything. Well that’s not fun. I ended up leaving the restaurant. They didn’t even give a credit and we had to box up the dinner the server messed up and he took it for lunch the next day. $ 30 for leftovers — a complete waste. I had to eat somewhere else. We don’t have a money to spend on someone else’s screw ups. We went another time before this and the restaurant stunk. The restaurant was almost empty. We would have gone a different time but we stood outside, next to the door, talking before going in and as we turned to go in, the woman there shut the door in our faces and said they were closed — they don’t have hours so you just have to get lucky. I thought that was pretty rude. But the last straw for me was the server changing my order — my husband and I ordered the same thing but she only changed mine. Be careful if you go here. If not for the crap service, it would be a decent place.

Went last night and had the most perfectly cooked strip. They nailed it. The salad with their version of honey mustard was excellent. Atmosphere was old school with brick and wood and booths, and it was quiet. I had the most relaxing evening, and I will be back.

Wife & I haven’t been here for years. Definitely not the same restaurant nor ambiance as we knew it. Went on Monday & tried the Ribeye diner special for $ 15, normally $ 25. Didn’t know, about specials til we got there. I added 1 lb of snow crab legs for extra $ 10. Great choice because the wife loved the crab legs — sweet & large size. Ribeye stakes cooked perfect, unlike other steak restaurants. Tasted excellent, one of the best steaks we’ve had in years. Had Longhorn couple weeks ago & were not impressed. Steak came with 2 sides which waiter did not tell us. Good mashed potatoes & fresh green beans — young haricot vert. Service was slow, and noticed 90% were males. Maybe being a steak place? Domestic beers were $ 2 per bottle, served no glass. Like I said different setting from how it used to be. Our waitress was very nice.

Had dinner here two nights ago and I kept watching the door for the crew of Restaurant Impossible to come busting in. Now the food is not bad. It was not quite worth the price for the steaks. But the atmosphere Robert Irving would destroy. Old. lame and Dusty oh and those are the owners there lurking around. We were the only ones there. Creepy. Maybe this liquor store adjoining them will keep this place afloat. Enjoy! Or not.

I don’t know why this place was given bad reviews but I came here last Saturday for dinner and had a great experience. We were looking for a good steakhouse and came here based on the recommendation from my husband’s coworkers. Since I didn’t know how busy this place can get on a weekend, we came here right at 5:00pm and it was completely empty. We were seated immediately and our waiter took our order after a few minutes. I ordered a 12 oz. prime rib entrée that comes with vegetables and mashed potatoes. I didn’t order a salad or soup because we had ordered the duck wings as an appetizer. Those were okay… a little too deep fried and plus I’m not really into«duck» as I thought. My husband ordered the bacon wrapped filet mignon and he enjoyed it. I took a bite of his meal because they topped his steak with crumbled blue cheese and a blueberry sauce. I thought it was odd because I have never even heard of such a thing, so I took a bite and wow, it was really delicious! They do serve bread and butter before your meal and that tasted pretty good. Service was quick and I’m sure if it were a little busier, we would have waited a bit longer, but hey… it is a steakhouse. A good steakhouse will take the time to cook your meal. I will definitely be coming back here in the future.

I am sad to see what poor reviews this place has had lately. While I do agree that this is not the place to go if you’re in a time crunch, it offered some of the best food I’ve had in the CSRA. We came here around seven on a Saturday night, and there was a decent crowd at the bar but only about half the dining area was full. It’s frustrating to know that a place like this is so slow while the area’s Applebee’s have a two hour wait. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful, though it is worth noting they specifically wait to bring out your next course after you’re finished with the first. The food itself was exceptional. We ordered the crab dip, which I could honestly eat as a soup. While not as thick or chunky as some of the crab dip I had in Maryland, the flavor was much better. Their bread is actually made there — it has the smell, taste and texture of homemade. I ordered the pork chop dinner for my entrée and hubby ordered a steak that had a crab and shrimp topping. The chop was possibly the juiciest piece of pork I’ve ever had, well seasoned and nicely grilled. The sides were a pleasant surprise — I’m so used to nondescript sides here I rarely pay attention, but they had fantastic mashed potatoes(actually made fresh as opposed to the instant half the restaurants around serve), and green beans with bacon flavor instead of plain steamed veggies. Hubby was super happy with his steak too. Will definitely be coming here often.

I hope that my groups experience at the Snug Steak & Grill was not a representation of what other diners experience. The place was not packed and service/food quality was really lacking. — Slow service — Long wait for food without seeing a waiter(60+ minutes) — Uncomfortable seating for 5+ — Inconsistent food temperature — Price doesn’t reflect quality I won’t get into too much detail on the food other than to say that for $ 20 – 35 per person I expected much more than the quality of service and food we received. The place was packed with finely dressed guests and still the service was sporadic and at times non existent. This was probably the most I have spent to receive McDonalds quality service. My group placed our orders right away and then found ourselves wait for over an hour with empty water glasses to never see our waiter again. Luckily we had a good conversation going but about 45 minutes in we considered just getting up and going to another restaurant. The customer communication here is terrible but it seems their normal clientele(65+) may be able to fall asleep and be woken up when the food is ready. When the food finally arrived I wasn’t impressed. It was immediately obvious that they plated the sides long before the main was ready. My sides were cold and the entrée mildly warm. It seems they had some trouble getting everyone’s food at my table ready at once. I pointed out the cold sides to my server and was looked at like I just stripped down to my undies. How about fix your mistake please? This was just another mediocre waste of money dining out in Augusta. I hope others receive better service and food quality then I did.

My husband and I stopped here for our anniversary. I made a reservation but since it was so early in the evening, I don’t think it was necessary. We were the only ones in there for about 30 minutes. The service was great. My only complaint is that is was VERY slow. I don’t know if this was b/c the server wanted to wait until we were done with each course before bringing the next… or b/c we were the first customers so the kitchen was still getting things ready… or what. You must have the jumbo chunk crap dip. OMG wonderful! The steaks were cooked perfectly to our specifications. We also ordered key lime pie as dessert. My husband loved it. It was a little tart for me. All in all a must visit. I loved this place. We are def going to go back for the next big occasion.

Had dinner here last night w/friends at their recommendation. Great atmosphere and food. We started w/the crab dip appetizer w/toasted bread. It was Great. I really enjoyed the bread they brought to the table, and the salad was excellent w/a flavorful blue cheese dressing. After hearing the stories about the steaks and prime rib, combined w/the day I had, I decided on the Georgia Cut(16oz+), Medium rare(of course). It was perfectly cooked and very flavorful.(see attached pics) My friends had steak and prime rib, and said both their meals were excellent. To top it off for me, one of my most favorite beers, Brother Thelonious(a Belgian style abbey ale) was offered on the menu to wash it down. So I had to have one. It was the perfect topper to a great meal w/new friends. Will definitely go back again.
