This guy changed the time he was coming three times, then showed up without a ladder, then charged me almost $ 300 to trim a tree that probably should have just been cut down and essentially did nothing but cut off a couple twigs. I’m an idiot for paying him. Someone actually recommended him to me, but I can’t imagine why.

Run for the hills — but first tether this man to one of the dead trees he was paid to removed, but never did… because he took your money up front. This review is based off an incident that occurred SEVENTEEN years prior in 1997. Yes, seventeen year ago. Why leave a one-star review nearly two decades after the incidence? Because Unilocal had yet to exist, and the memory of this con artist left an imprint. Kevin Alley randomly knocked on my family’s door in 1997. He offered to air raid the yard. He did fine, no problems. Then after earning our trust, Kevin Alley offered a large package of services including multiple annual fertilization, weeding, tree trimming, and a host of other services. Then Kevin Alley insisted he receive payment a year worth of treatment, all up front. Kevin used a sob story to explain why he needed the money ASAP. Something about sick children at home… Then he points out that all the neighbors have hired him, and while he is explaining this, Kevin looks up the street at my neighbor 4 – 6 houses down(a silly distance as she was far to, far to engage), performs a big exaggerated smile, and hollers, «Hello there! How are you doing?!!», as if the two were super chummy. When it came time to get our second treatment, he was a no-call, no-show. We left him a voice message. No response. Left several more. No response. We had a sick feeling like we had been duped. Visited with several neighbors — same thing, initial services given, then a large package offered, all money gathered up front, then goes MIA. Thanks to Unilocal, gone are the days were people like Kevin Alley can sneak off into the shadows with no pubic trail.

This company showed up to cut the neighbors dead wood. This companys employees used my yard as a dumping ground for their gas chain saws, other tools, etc. I asked them not to use my yard more than once, but one employee continued to do so and even spit in it. They tromped all over my yard like it was theirs to do so, instead of going through the job site yard. The put a huge divot in my grass although they assured me they would not. They scarred up the sidewalk with crashing the tree onto it. If you want hacks are us to cut out your trees, this is the company to call.

Do not, I repeat, do not hire Kevin Alley to do any work for you. He underbid a tree stump removal and then claimed that he underestimated the job. We settled on what I thought was a fair price, that was until I found out his crew broke a sprinkler line in the process and then attempted to cover up their mistake.(I happened to see broken PVC pipe in my lawn – no they did not completely clean up their mess – and surmised what happened.) Kevin said he’d repair it and after several phone calls and broken promises, I had my sprinkler line repaired on my own. Prior to this experience, we had Kevin trim some trees and we’ve had no problems. But after this experience, I’d never hire him again.
