I don’t recommend this establishment. I ordered bakery items to go. All items I purchased were at least one or more days old. I was disappointed the bakery items were not made fresh the same day. I will not return.

Bev’s Kitchen is situated in a quiet shopping plaza by a high school, and I often overlook it when thinking about where to grab breakfast or coffee. One day I decided to try it out with one of my friends and I was not pleased with my experience. I can look past the outdated décor and vinyl tablecloths, but what I cannot look past are these things: –Our waitress was incredibly rude –They stop serving breakfast at 10 am –There was a non-stop flow of high schoolers stopping by for milkshakes and being obnoxious –The pastry I ordered was stale and the coffee tasted old I am not one to be entirely unhappy with my dining experiences, but this just so happened to be one of the few times that nothing was up to par.

The quiche is off the charts! And the pecan sticky bun is to die for! It’s our favorite breakfast spot!

Still horrible… The owner called me out on my review… Honey deal with it! Your place is not that great… Don’t let your pride take over the business

This place is not worth it! We came for a late breakfast and was told that they stop serving breakfast at 11 am. No where on the menu does it say they stop serving breakfast at 11am. Our waitress said it was on the door… Who reads the fine print on the door when you are hungry? The food was not good. McDonald’s fast food drive thru is better then this place.

Diamond in the rough! Very homey and welcoming atmosphere! This place is fantastic, particularly for the Gluten Free community! She makes everything from scratch and the flavor is wonderful! She has a regular and gluten free version of everything she makes, including muffins, cookies, bread, cake, carrot cake, French toast –everything! I had the Quiche(gluten free– she makes it without a crust) with two pieces of her gluten free toast and I was so impressed with her bread that I bought a loaf of it! I tried the bread untoasted and fell even more in love with it! It is spongey and doesn’t crumble! We had excellent service from both our server Demitrius and from Bev herself! We will definitely be returning soon! Can’t wait to try some more homemade gluten free goodies!

Love Bev’s. Been coming here since she opened. Never a bad meal or service. Fresh, home made pastries, croissants and breads. Support small business. It is the backbone of our economy.

I think Bev’s kitchen is a charming restaurant, and it’s nice that it’s right in the neighborhood. I don’t understand some of the other reviews. I like the food and the fact that I can pretty much order whatever I want in an omelet or whatever I want with eggs. They also have grits if you like that instead of home fries(I do). Sure, you have to seat your self, but so what? The staff is engaging and friendly. The other day Bev herself even came out of the kitchen to talk to us. It turns out that she has owned seven restaurants in diverse communities across Colorado. It’s an adventure to learn about a place like Bev’s, including the bakery.

Not sure why there are so many negative reviews for Bev’s Kitchen. My family and I recently discovered this place and have been there twice. The breakfast’s are delicious. My son is a huge fan of the breakfast burrito and my daughter loves the Egg’s Benedict(and she is an Egg’s Benedict snob). The staff is very friendly and both times we have been there they greet us with«make yourselves at home». We have only had breakfast here but will be back again and again. The family loves it.

Just went in for the first time with my wife for breakfast. Great food and very reasonably priced. The pastries and cakes look awsome and they have ice cream and shakes. I cant wait to try it all. We will be coming back

Excellent! Yes, you have to wait a little longer, but because you get fresh, homemade food. Bread baked in house is served with your meal. I have been here three times now and have had a great experience each time. The third time I went, they reserved a table for our large group.

I’m not sure I can give any stars. Like the other reviewers, I really wanted this new neighborhood café to be wonderful. It wasn’t. Old pastries. Dried out vegetables on the side salad. Uncomfortable conversations with staff and Bev concerning customers that they thought were rude. Overpriced. A little dirty. Wobbly furniture. A little warm. And Bev was wearing sandals while preparing food. Underwhelmed is an understatement. The passion for food and baking is obvious and even charming. However, the execution makes them a perfect candidate for kitchen nightmares. Bev, in all sincerity, I wish you the best.

I came here Saturday morning for breakfast with my husband, we recently moved here and thought it looked cute and wanted to support the local business. First walking into Bev’s I felt like I was in someone’s grandmother’s grungy kitchen but was willing to look past it, thinking maybe it was part of the«home cooked meal» charm. Man were we wrong. The waitress was rude off the bat, it took her 5 minutes just to bring us menus after telling us to sit wherever. Then another 10 minutes to bring our coffee(with no silverware either). When she came back for the order I asked if since it was technically lunch time I could get something off that menu and she harshly responded no. Which if that’s the case why not just change your breakfast hours till noon? I instead ordered some blandish breakfast plate and my husband ordered the breakfast burrito and pancakes(we just came from a run he was starving! Haha) and specifically said no chili sauce. Fast forward a half hour to when our breakfast actually arrived, I was presented with what was probably one of the worst breakfasts I’ve ever eaten. My husbands burrito was a pathetic excuse of half cooked potatoes, eggs and the nasty chili sauce he had asked to be left out. Also we were charged and extra 2 $ for sausage in it that the kitchen left out. My own meal consisted of the same hard cold potatoes, one egg, some jimmy dean looking microwave sausage and toast. Everything on the plate was alright until my husband pointed out a piece of toast and recommended I probably shouldn’t eat that. I picked it up and horrified, noticed it was moldy!!! They served moldy to bread to us and I’m sure I wasn’t the only one that morning either!!! After that I was done. We both stopped eating and waited for the one waitress to actually notice us so we could pay and get out of that nightmare restaurant. 30 $ down the drain later we were outta there. All in all, Bev’s Kitchen was not only a huge overpriced let down, but also a revolting reminder of how horribly wrong restaurant management can go. One star is too much credit for this unsanitary dump, next time I’m thinking breakfast, I’ll be heading to Starbucks or my own fridge.

Such a cozy place! The food is inexpensive and delicious. I love the fact that Bev makes all her bread. There are GF options like their homemade bread, chocolate chip cookies, and carrot cake. She will even bake a request. I asked for cinnamon raisin bread. Yes the service is a little slow but worth the wait. We will definitely come back.

I had the pleasure of being treated to breakfast at Bev’s to celebrate MLK day and what an MLK day it was! Bevs is tucked back in the Fitness 19 shopping center with a cozy and quaint dining room. They also have a Blue Bell ice cream bar and offer an assortment of tasty pastries and bread that are baked in house. Bevs gets huge points for offering GLUTENFREE homemade bread. We also had the pleasure of meeting Bev, she is such a sweetheart and whipped us up one helluva breakfast. The eggs florentine was a highlight-prepared in a custard dish like a soufflé. The homemade cinnamon bread French toast also looked delicious. Almost everything is served with your choice of grits or home fries(generously portioned and delicious). The downsides were the strange breakfast hours –supposedly they stop serving at 11 despite only being open til 3. While they were able to accommodate us for breakfast it’s baffling that they would not serve breakfast all day long, especially since the high school alone would keep them in business for all day breakfast. The lack of all day breakfast coupled with the slow service(it took about a half hr for us to get our food). Despite this, it’s definitely worth going back for the friendly service, tasty food, and generous portions. UPDATE7/5/2014-I just saw how Bev replied to some of her Unilocal reviews. Wow. Nothing short of a b*tch. I cannot believe how defensive she became over some critical comments regarding her business. I can no longer recommend Bev’s Kitchen based on the stand-offish, terrible attitude she has regarding customer feedback. Feel free to contact me should you want some actual customer relations skills. Based on this, I can’t imagine Bev’s Kitchen will be around much longer. I’d recommend calling before you visit.

Been here twice and will be back! Gluten Free cookies, breads, and cakes for the wife makes her happy. Breakfast burrito is awesome… and huge. We’ve also had the veggie burger which was obviously homemade and delicious… Italian sub is good too. We will be back.

First off the menu is not much of a selection. I mean when I go to a café I want something I can’t make at home. They PBJ really? Also what bakery doesn’t have chicken salad? I ended up going with the tuna salad. Nothing special at all. I make them better at home!

I’ve been in twice for coffee and pastries with friends. Find the place warm and inviting with friendly and good staff. Both times, the place was filling up by the time that I left. The breakfast, brunch and lunch menu looks inviting. I will be back to explore the menu more. Nice place near my neighborhood.

I like supporting local restaurants. The typical Chili’s, Chipotle and Qdoba are great, but it gets old. I found Bev’s Kitchen while searing on Unilocal one day. While driving past Grandview HS today, I saw a sign on the side of the road. «Oh yeah, I remember seeing that place on Unilocal.» My mom asked me to lunch today so I suggested trying Bev’s Kitchen. I walked in and immediately felt like I was visiting my extended family in Casco, Wisconsin. You know… the town with one stop light? I could look past that. The server was great and very attentive. I ordered the grilled cheese(mozz and gruyère with tomato and bacon) on Gluten Free bread. The sandwich was so small, I could almost fit one half in my entire mouth. I imagine this is because they use their own baked GF bread. Kudos. But geez, so tiny and they charge so much. Oh, and they missed the bacon which was an extra dollar or so. The menu mentioned something like«for an extra $ 1.50, you could have fries or a side salad.» That sounded good. So both my mom and I ordered a salad. The Italian dressing was great! My mom was indecisive about what to order. She asked the server what her favorite lunch item was. The server said the Turkey and Cheese Panini(she also mentioned she was a plain girl –whatever that meant). I ordered my son the kids pancakes and eggs. The food took awhile to be served. We were one of two tables so I don’t know what took so long to make two sandwiches and pancakes and eggs? My mom said the sandwich was«meh.» It didn’t look good. Shouldn’t a panini sandwich have… I don’t know… panini grill lines on the sandwich? It looks like they just warmed it up. Oh, and there were a handful of Ruffles chips on our plate. Weird. Why not give a bag of chips like they do at Panera? My toddler ate the pancake. Toddlers eat anything, right? The scrambled eggs looked over cooked. I asked mom to try the pancake(since I have a gluten allergy) and she said it was very doughy. I turned the pancake upside down and sure enough it was doughy. So, the big question… will I come back? I really, really want to try more things. So many things sounded good. However, it was overpriced for the quality and quantity of food. So, that’s a strike. The environment was creepy. I noticed all other patrons were old. Like really old. I guess the atmosphere fits them right. At least play some music or something. It was so, so quiet. So, more strikes. Last, we were charged $ 3 + bucks for the side salads even though the menu said a dollar extra. Eh? We asked the server and she said ours came with chips so the salad was extra? Huh? She did the right thing and comped the salads. That’s a plus! The website: yuck. Really? It looks like one of the grandmother patrons designed it. The menu page was blank. Call me, Bev. I would love to give you advice on your website. As my mom and I stood the parking lot, we both said we didn’t think we would come back. This makes me sad because I really like local shops to succeed.

Me and my husband went there Saturday and both ordered a breakfast burrito smothered. Hands down this was THE worst burrito I’ve ever had. I can not fathom how Bev can live in Colorado and call this a breakfast burrito and the liquid pored over the top chili. The potatoes inside the burrito were boiled and still tough and the burrito had no flavor on its own. The«chili» was a joke. It tasted like they bought a can of tomato soup and added a little spice to it, it was terrible. To top it off they charged us $ 3.00 each to smother our burrito in tomato soup, that’s almost the cost of the burrito! Before this visit my husband brought home some pastries from here. They don’t taste like they are made from scratch more like something you would buy at Safeway. Not terrible but I was expecting better ingredients. I wanted to like it but don’t imagine it being open this time next year with the quality of food they are serving. We could really use more great eating options in this area but this is not it. I won’t be returning.
