Denver Airport Marriott at Gateway Park

This is a nice hotel but… I am a frequent traveler and stay at many hotels during the year. I am a Platinum Premier member with Marriott, a Diamond with Hilton and a Platinum with HIE. This hotel is one that leaves a bottle of water in your room so they can sneak a $ 6.00 charge onto your bill after you check out. I’ve seen that trick before so I never drink the Fuji water in the room. Mind you they don’t check to see if you consumed the overpriced water, they just add it to your bill. This practice is the height of corporate impropriety! This sneaky charge causes serious problems with my companies accounting policies. I called the front desk to get the charge reversed but got passed off to «accounting «but got the voicemail. No response. I called the front desk again and ask for the manager. Same thing, no response. No one returned my call.
If you book a room here, don’t leave until you check your bill over very closely!

I travel quite a bit for work and this place is frequently used by my company. It’s been ok, nothing special in the past but this trip was the worst. My first morning the shower head was broken and spraying water all over the bathroom. I dealt with the mess and got ready for my meeting. On the way out I called the front desk and asked to have maintenance fix the shower while I’m out, and I was out all day. I returned t the room and didn’t check if it was corrected. This morning I had to get up eat and on my way, I warmed the water and turned in the shower. I literally could take a shower standing in the middle of the bathroom!
There is nothing worse than being on a business trip and the day gets started off like this.
I called and spoke to the same girl this morning, she apologized and asked if I needed someone to come up to my room to fix the shower. Really a frustrating visit. There are so many choices close to the airport, I need to convince my company that this isn’t the place we need to continue using.

Beautiful location, nice modern lobby, large fireplace and comfortable seating. In lobby restaurant with bar and friendly staff. Food is a bit spendy, but after airport food for 2 days a nice glass of wine was worth it. Gorgeous clean room, HOT shower and super fuzzy towels. Extra fluffy pillows and very comfortable king size bed, linens are soft and cozy. Only thing of issue was shuttle driver, hurried, grouchy, poor English and insisted on cramming 2 extra adults and kids and their luggage into our full shuttle at 530am. Was even warned by passenger about seat belt laws as 3 children were on laps. Was ignored. Great value through secondary website, 15 minutes from airport and quiet, would stay again if I’m here.

Was stuck in Denver due to snow and booked a room here last minute. I was in town for work and usually stay at the lower end Marriott hotels. I must say this hotel was very clean and modern and nicely decorated. The staff was very attentive and kind. Sally was a great bartender and very friendly. Nice to have the shuttle provided to and from the airport. Food and drinks in the hotel restaurant were pretty steep but nothing surprising overall. Loved the welcoming sitting area with fireplace in the lobby.

Very comfortable hotel close to the airport. New construction, reasonably quiet. Stay here often for business trips.

Awesome people and very helpful! I was checked in and in my room within minutes of arrival. They have the most friendly staff and are very accommodating. Highly recommend this hotel!

Very comfortable beds, great staffs, and rooms are big. Quiet area for airport hotels. The airport is a straight shot on the freeway about 10 – 15 minutes. They offer complimentary shuttle that starts at 3:30am and a wake up call. This place is definitely where I would stay again and again when I’m in Denver. Oh and don’t forget their breakfast and lunch menu downstairs are a lot for affordable than most Marriott I’ve been to :)

***This is not the most upscale Marriott and it is a good drive to get to the airport, but service was very good***
I got stuck at the Denver International Airport, and United Airlines put me up in this hotel. I was surprised how this hotel was not that close to the airport (it is at least a 10-​minute to 15-​minute drive). But the hotel featured a reasonable room rate and was well equipped to handle last minute guests who get stranded in Denver.
This hotel has a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport and you can use the food vouchers provided from your airline here. Another plus is that their hotel restaurant is open late and serves food until 1:00 a.m. In addition, the front desk was ready with a toothbrush and toothpaste when I checked in, which was definitely appreciated considering I checked my carry-​on that had all my clothes and toiletries.
While this hotel definitely seems well suited to support last minute air travelers, the hotel is just in the okay range. My room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The room temperature was pleasant too. The décor (like most Marriott hotels) was a tad boring though. While it was nice the restaurant was open late, the food was mediocre (even for a hotel restaurant).
The complimentary shuttle to the airport had its issues too. It took a long time for the shuttle to show up at the airport. At the hotel, the shuttle runs to the airport every 30 minutes, but it actually supports several hotels and we were really packed in there. I could definitely see some guests being forced to catch the next shuttle, which could cause you to miss a flight.
Room rates seem very reasonable at this hotel though there does not seem to be much to do in the immediate area; a few chain restaurants are within walking distance.
Service was very good; the staff was very friendly and polite.
This is a decent Marriott for an overnight stay. There is not much in the area so if you are spending most of your time Downtown Denver, I would suggest the Denver Marriott City Center or the JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek (they might be up to twice the rate of this Marriott, but those properties are noticeably nicer and have a much more convenient location). If you are spending most of your time around the airport though, this Marriott is a good option.
I am not sure what the parking situation is. I imagine they offer self parking though I do not know if they charge a fee for it.

I booked this room last minute on Priceline when I was in Denver recently. Chose it specifically for the location since it is near the airport.
I checked in around 9 pm and there was only one girl at the counter – that’s fine, I know 9 pm isn’t like, a rush time for checking in. However, she was on the phone with someone and I just stood there waiting til she got off the phone, but after a minute or so she started checking me in – still on the phone. I work at a hotel and I just feel like that could have been handled differently. She did, however, ask me if I needed the shuttle to the airport in the morning, which was awesome because I didn’t even know there was a shuttle. I don’t often travel without my transportation already lined up so I was just thinking I’d have to Über or taxi it to the airport – I was very pleasantly surprised and grateful for the shuttle. Also, the shuttle driver I had was very friendly and kind. This shuttle also picks up a few surrounding hotels there, but the trip is still quick.
So then, I got to the room and it was just fine. Mostly everything seemed clean enough and in good working order. The shower, however, was a tad grimy looking.
I ordered room service and the girl on the phone was either just kind of dumb or very distracted. I told her the bottle of sparkling wine I wanted (there’s only one on the room service menu) and also ordered the queso blanco and the chips and salsa sampler. After I said my order she asked «wait, which bottle did you want?» and despite there being only one sparkling and the fact that I already ordered it by name, I restated it to her. Then she was like «okay, so that bottle and then a burger, right?» Nope, haha, not sure where you got burger when I ordered queso blanco and chips and salsa. But I didn’t cop an attitude with her, just simply told her the full order again. I don’t mean to go into great deal to nit pick, but I just don’t know why ordering room service has to be so difficult.
The food from room service was decent. Nothing I’d rave about, but then again I just ordered queso blanco and chips and salsa, how exciting can it be? And also, you’re paying room service prices for some pretty basic stuff, but that’s to be expected. I was hungry and it did the job.
I haven’t stayed in any other hotels in the Denver airport area, but I wouldn’t have any qualms recommending this Marriott to someone who was in need of lodging ni this area.

Horrible. I am an elite and loyal Marriott member. This hotel was horrible. No valet. Didn’t plow their driveway from the snow. When I finally got to room it had no soap or shampoo. The internet didn’t function and the concierge level was closed. I would suggest staying at the aloft. I think I will take my platinum status and go back to Starwood. Let me add to review. You are better off staying in a chair at the airport than here.

You would think staying at the Marriott you would have quality … Not at this Marriott … We had no towels in our room and didn’t have any towels till about 9:45 at night, the stench of weed filled the hallway I mean I know we are in Denver but come On Colorado, chip crumbs on the floor in the room And when we ordered the shrimp tacos from the restaurant in the hotel the taco shells broke apart and had to reorder the tacos for them to only double shell the taco…

The guest service people are very friendly. They offer to help with anything they can. Hotel needs to be updated. Rooms are old looking. You can hear people flushing toilet & taking shower. Very. Thin. Walls. The water pressure was awesome!!! Big fitness center with a lot of machines which was super busy in the morning, evening was dead. Used Priceline and got it for half off regular price. I wouldn’t pay more then $ 149 here.

United lost my bag and my flight took off without me so I was stuck in Denver for the night. I have to say, this hotel and their staff made up for it. Everyone was really kind, attentive and accommodating. Specifically Jef at the bar, the women working the restaurant this AM and the man making omelets. Thank you all very much! Your attitude was phenomenal and made my 11 hour stay not so bad. Thank you again.

Great place. Comfy beds and great service. Restaurant in the hotel is good but not great — it used to be better. Hotel is awesome though.

I hate gross bathrooms that look like they haven’t been cleaned in between guests. The rooms are super old looking with scratches and dents and chips in the walls. Main perk is the free wifi in the rooms. Please read my separate review on the downstairs restaurant which was underwhelming and disappointing. I’m hoping the beds are at least comfortable, though. The heat doesn’t work well enough in the cold weather, despite being cranked up.
One more thing: don’t be fooled by the name. This isn’t close at all to the airport! But at least there’s an easy airport shuttle to and from this place.

Quite honestly, I have never had a worse stay at a hotel in my entire life. I travel extensively for work and I will never stay at this hotel again!!!
It began on the first night when I asked for utensils for my take away meal for lunch and I didn’t get them.
Not a big deal and I didn’t plan on even mentioning it.
Then, the next morning I came down for coffee at their Starbucks in the lobby and waited 45 minutes for a cup of coffee. They said they were opened at 5:00 but they clearly were not.
I was assured this was just a bad day and that it did in fact open at 5:00.
Then, I went back up to my room to discover n the midst of my shower that the hotel had left no soap for me. I went downstairs and talked to the front desk about my rocky start.
The man at the desk was very apologetic and said that by the time I got back from work that day he would let me know what the hotel planned to do to compensate me.
I never heard a word from him after that. And on top of that when I came back from work to take a shower and looking forward to being able to use soap there once again was no soap in my room!!!
And the worst service ever just continued. I ordered room service and asked for a breakfast menu. .it was not given to me. I then called back and ask them to bring one and it STILL was not brought to me.
I must say I was exhausted from trying so hard to get my basic needs met.
The next morning I received my breakfast at 6:00 and I had asked for it at 7:00. I also was told that I couldn’t get coffee at Starbucks when I went down because it wasn’t ready. When I politely said that I thought they opened at 5:00 she responded not so politely by saying that no she got there at 5:00 but coffee wasn’t ready at 5.
I then went back to the front desk and spoke to Ryan who once again said he would call me on my cell to talk about what the hotel planned do and once again I did not hear from him.
Truly unbelievable. I am not someone who usually complained but this is over and beyond what any bad hotel experience should be. Don’t go there… you will have a headache rather than a relaxing stay!

and man oh man am I happy that happened!
After accidentally changing the area for a hotel when traveling to Denver (shooting for downtown) we got the Marriot for a ridiculously cheap price so I couldn’t be too upset about having to drive back and forth 15 – 20 min from downtown Denver. While checking in, the front desk attendant made a comment about my Cubs’ hat, I wasn’t too thrilled until he told us he was from Chicago as well and was going to upgrade us to a suite. Not thinking much of it, we headed up to our room to find one of the biggest hotel rooms I’ve stayed in. The suite was super clean, had tons of room for just the two of us (GF & I). It had a living room, kitchen area, separate sink /​vanity from the shower /​toilet and a master bedroom of sorts. Unbelievable!
We did not spend too much time at the hotel except for about an hour in the pool /​hot tub, which is a little tricky getting to since the elevators say it’s on the 2^nd floor, but it’s really on the first floor. The pool was also a little chilly so be aware. My buddy told me the workout room was the best he’s seen. Very up to date and excellent equipment. He was very pleased.
The staff was super friendly. Room was super clean. Lots of amentities. Outstanding.

We got in late Friday night and left early on Saturday morning. Good price for the night based upon the location and how nice the hotel is. Décor was very nice in both the lobby and room. King size bed was very comfy. I had a good night sleep. The shower had awesome water pressure.
The breakfast buffet is a little overpriced though. The breakfast buffet has cereal, sausage, bacon, french toast, fruit and someone making fresh eggs. It was decent but we were just looking for a quick breakfast and just ate a couple eggs and some fruit from the buffet. For the two of us, the bill was $ 32 which we thought was a little much for breakfast. I guess we should have asked before running to the buffet. We were in a rush as we were driving across the country and afterward we just wished we had stopped for something quick at a rest stop. The server also had to be asked twice to bring us water and never brought sugar or artificial sweetener for the coffee, which is kind of ridiculous because with the buffet, the only thing a server had to bring were the drinks.

Not business traveller friendly. I woke up thirsty in the middle of the night. I looked for the usual bottle of $ 5 water in the room and there wasn’t any. So I called the front desk and they said I have to come down to get it.
So I got out of bed, got dressed, went to the lobby and there was a long line at reception. They insisted I wait in line to sign for the water.
So I just went back to bed.
